I Ain't Dancing...
We ventured on down to San Antonio this past weekend to visit friends...Didn't do much. We were escorted over to a community center for a silent auction and some fried catfish. Not bad, seeing that the only good thing about the food was the catfish. The rest of it? Dry, mushy and bitter. Not so good.
I also know your minds are burning with the unasked
question...How Was The Auction?
Junk out of the bottom of people's closets...although I saw a guitar that looked promising.
Nope, hubby and I passed on writing our names by any of the items. I have enough of my own junk. I do think all the profits were going to a good cause though. I just don't know what that "cause" was.
And all that dancing you see in the photos? The announcer was screaming, the dancers were out of step...One woman "whipped" her partner (had to be at least 80) a bit too hard at the end of the line and the old man almost flipped on out of the pavillion! WHAT?!!Hahahaaa.....Yes it was for a good cause...Yes those dancers are brave for doing what they do....NO, you'll never catch me doing it!!!Hahaaaa.....Ahhh well...all's well that ended well. Now the dessert was pretty tasty! A biscuit thingy with cinnamon and ice cream. And NO, I didn't get a shot of it...because...I was Hungry by that point and it got Ate...quickly!Hahaaaa
Well, it's turned cold here again, 34 degrees this morning. High only in the 50's today. Can you believe it was almost 90 in San Antonio on Saturday?? I AM feeling grateful though! It's Not Snowing! That's a Great thing...I don't know how you northern states get through winters...Bless Your Hearts!Hahaaa
Now Go Forth and have a great day doing whatever it is that makes you happy...

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Love these cupcakes! Found them on a blog called, Happier Than a Pig in Mud. This link will take you to the actual recipe. If you want to see her full blog, just erase the back half off her address up to the dot com and go explore.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! May the winds...'ya know...blow your skirt up or something like that...WHAT???Hahahaa....and may the Blarney, somethingsomething, ahhh....top of the morning thingy...for 'ya! Ok! Sounds good to Me!
Hubby decided to repeat the cheesy, green onion scones in honor of the Day. Always Wonderful!
If you're like me, you're rather tired by the time you reach March and would just wish Holiday Marketing would go take a proverbial, HIKE!
I understand who St. Patrick was and appreciate Ireland's devotion...I think...I was raised Catholic so I had a pretty through diet of saints and their "holidays", but what I take issue with is the selling of the holiday. My main holiday is Christmas. It's the one that says Jesus. We celebrate his birth. We try to remember that life is super short and that maybe Jesus' message really does mean something...Love...nothing more, nothing less. How can you sell that...you can't but retailers think they can so I just try to navigate through the seasonal mess.
They say St. Patrick's Day is also about the food SO...Here's to the devil running down the road...the birds nesting in unison and the clover never leaving stains on the knee of your jeans.
Now...Go eat hardy me maties and just love and care about someone today...I think St. Patrick would approve.

Don't Forget to Set Your Clocks Forward!
Well it's that time of year again...springing forward. I've gotten use to the backwards and forwards rhythm. I think I just don't care anymore so that makes it not so important like it use to be to me. Who cares if you lose an hour? Gain an hour? I think it all comes out in the wash. I go to bed an hour earlier or to bed an hour later. Works for me.
We've been getting some much needed rain over the past several days. It's always nice to get some especially when we're headed into Spring and Summer months. Texas can never get enough!
I did not take the above photo and don't know who did but I liked it...Screams Spring to me and I'm so ready! Tired of my feet being cold.
I did the photo challenges yesterday...I'm glad to see them once again! Makes me pick up my camera and begin to think!Hahaaa....pitiful, I know! But mainly, it introduces you to new faces in blogland who have the same interest as you do! Photography. Some people are fluent in photo-speak and some are newbies...doesn't matter though because we all have fun and learn at the same time. If YOU ever want to join in on the challenges, see my last post and go investigate...you won't be sorry! By the way, the NEXT Challenge at Donna's, (Her Main Blog) and her (Challenge Blog), Personal Photo Challenge, is entitled, Simplicity...Due April 13th.... She already has the Challenges listed for the next few months so we can plan for them. SO! Get your thinking caps on and prepare. You can always "schedule" your post, that way you won't forget!
So I guess I'll let you get back to your Sunday doings...Enjoy the day and try picking up that camera...Never know what you might find! I missed a shot at a robin this morning....Hate when that happens!

Black & White and Words Challenges
Can you say Two Birds with One Photo?Hahaaa....They were both due today! I was trying to figure out a graceful way to do them both without it looking tacky and Hubby simply said (BEFORE I HAD A CHANCE TO REFLECT!!!Hahahaa), "Make it a black and white photo of words...Duh!!" I love my hubby...I love my hubby...WHAT???Hahaaaa.....
I used my original PollyAnna (published 1913) book for the words and I used Florabella Actions for the Black and White effects.
