Pinterest is turning into my worst nightmare! I really think I need to stop looking at all the treats. So many of them are easy to make...and easy to eat! I have a desk job and sweets and desk jobs don't work so well together. I think the culprit is pecans...I love pecans. Yep...I'll blame pecans.
We had some rain that turned into ice yesterday...slippery roads, but this morning? Roads are dry! SO glad of that. I see the eastern side of the US are having a tough time of it...I just don't know how you do it! Just be safe...
I'm going for a coffee...check on you all, later...and NO, I didn't bring cake to work with me...Hahaaaa

Yes, I'm a weeny. I admit it. My feet are cold. I can't stand it when the temp dips below 60 degrees. I DO feel grateful that it's not snowing here like in other parts of the country (I'm SORRY!). I have family in Connecticut and believe you me, I know it's not a happy time for them. Deep stuff...More deep stuff? I have to take Libby (PugBaby) in on Tuesday for her..."fixin"...More later on how that goes. Say a few prayers for her if you would...
I also changed up the old blog a bit. Just wanting something different...I'm a pink rose person...I like pink...and pink roses...and custard pies....oh yeah.
After several hours of playing around on here guess I'll get up from this chair. Going to make some hot, hot coffee...

Don't hate me!!! Couldn't help myself. This is a recipe I found on Pinterest and suddenly, on Saturday, I felt the urge to make it. Larry helped gathering ingredients and in the mixer bowl they went. It's touted as the Worlds Best Chocolate Chip bars but I just don't think so...definitely, a brownie and definitely good! Keep checking how dark it's getting on top...you don't want it too browned. It will dry out on you. The original time instructions said bake for 20 minutes but in my glass 9X13 pan, it was too moist so I baked it ten more minutes. You'll need to play with it yourselves.
The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
Aunt Sherol's famous Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars!
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 cup chocolate chips (or more if desired)
- Cream butter, sugars, and vanilla together. Add in eggs.
- Stir in flour, salt and baking soda until combined.
- Gently fold in chocolate chips and nuts if desired.
- Spread on greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes, or until lightly golden brown on top.
- After it's cooled, slice into bars.
Will be working on the old blog over the next few days...you know how you feel when the blog feels "tired". No telling what I'll come up with but perhaps Spring will figure into it...sigh.
Headed your way so have a wonderful day or night and those of you that are fighting your way through all that snow, Be Safe and Stay Warm!

Goodness people! Have we been sick! Two and a half weeks...almost three weeks of coughing, runny noses, weak...pathetic! It just hung on like nothing we've ever seen. I haven't been sick like this, EVER! Weird illness...Didn't act like the "normal" flu at all. One symptom would appear like scratchy throat, then go away. The next symptom...stuffy head, nose and chest...came, went then came back. Crazy miserable! I missed a few days of work but eventually had to come back to catch up in the office and do payroll. Crystal (daughter also works here) was also sick. I could still hang around the house and would if I could! So beware the scratchy throat! That is where it all starts and antibiotics are worthless.
SO! I'll let you get back to your days work or play...Will be around shortly for visits. I just haven't felt like even looking at computers lately...sorry!
I need a coffee!
