A Rather Boring Week...

Good morning Friends...
It's been a quiet week for us.  son-in-love drove to Arkansas to visit with our grandson William, who's in the Air Force.  He loves it there.  Tim also helped guide Will through the truck buying process.  It's used but only about 20,000 miles on it.  $300 a month with his downpayment  (his own money) and trade-in.  It's a nice truck.

Our sweet grandson, William with his newish ride.

Then there's the little sweeties...Sloane and little sister Lottie Lynn....

And of course, Granmother Lolli had to drive up for some hugs and kisses.

Did I say we were on the KetoCarnivore diet? lol
It's a little easier to do than the total Carnivore.

And we are still slowly losing weight.

Did you Canners know this?

Went to Miller's for a sandwich (Larry) and a salad (me).  Both were so good!
See the lady in the red t-shirt over Larry's shoulder?  Her name is Bonnie and she and I went to high school together.  Hadn't seen her in... a hundred years!  Her husband Bill has cancer but is holding his own.
When we were leaving, I went up to her and asked her if she was stalking me...Lolol...after her shock wore off, we had a fun chat.

Eggs, tomato and weenies...the breakfast ones.

Zucchini and chicken

Click on the picture for the link to this prescription company...This company is fairly new, but you can order medications individually!  That a great thing!  I had found a company by the name of JASE.  But you have to order the full case ...usually around $260 or higher...depends on what you order extra.  Don't get me wrong...it's a life saver.  But we don't need anything much except Amoxicillin to keep handy for that nagging sinus infection...etc. Anyway, click on the picture and you can see for yourselves.  A medical doctor reviews your requested medications.  No tele-conference...just put in your State... (not sure about country yet.  (Try it though, they may have international abilities)  answer some questions and you're done.  If approved, which 99% of people are...your medication is on the way.  I got mine in 2 days.  You pay for the med and office visit and delivery.  Anything so I don't have to go into the doctor's office here!  I paid $52 American dollars for one med... delivery and office visit.  Cheap.  Of course, if I really need to visit my doctor, I'd go in.

We drove to Rosebud for some fabric to match my Dresden plate block's medallion.  Found the perfect matches in the blue and dark rose.  All are by Moda.  The medallion isn't red... it's a pretty dusty rose.  Wish I could get a good photo!

Well, that's about it for our rather boring week.  We've both tried to keep busy...me sewing and Larry...?? Lolol
He ran out to his shop several times...?  Now sure what he was up to.

Oh, I got on Amazon and ordered these decals for our two Air Force grandsons.  Tylar is a Master Seargent responsible for the F-17...and William is a Staff Seargent responsible for the F-130 planes.
We are SO proud of them both!
We are an Air Force family.

Okay, now I'm done.
Hope you all are staying well and out of trouble!
So... until next time...

Christmas Planning...William, Larry, Waiting.

Good morning, Friends...Well, Christmas is getting closer...38 days, as of today!  There's so much to do...We'll be having a fish fry for Thanksgiving...we're a little tired of the traditional turkey...and the kids will have had their fill of it on the 28th...so we are cooking on the 29th.  Fish just sounded good.

Here's William and Cailin at Will's Staff Sergeant Promotion ceremony... He's only just turned 25.  We are SO proud of him!

Amen!!

Here's Larry putting together the Christmas tree stand cover that he made for me.  I'll be using this instead of a skirt.

Here's our Sloane enjoying visiting with her Lolli (our Crystal).

And here's a roast Larry made yesterday...It was so tender (Instant Pot for 2 hours) that it just fell apart.  So good on a cool day...72 degrees.

Here's Paula Deen's seasoning mix.

House Seasoning
1 C salt
1/4 C black pepper
1/4 C garlic powder
Rub on any meat then cook

I use it on everything...Found the recipe, as you can see, in 2003...and have used this container ever since.

Waiting for the tree...

And Larry had to take out our old heater to do some repairs on it.

It looks just like this one we have in the playroom.  We use gas space heaters a lot, in extremely cold weather, to cut on the electric bill.  Works well for us.

Well, guess I'd best get in there and get busy cleaning.  I'm also trying to clean out the curio cabinets of things the kids probably don't want.  I'll just be keeping my china sets...some things from my Mom and her Mom...and my books, what's left of them.  I did a purge on books a few weeks back.  I also took an old rocker to Salvation Army.  I did ask the girls first if they wanted it but no was the answer...so off it went.  Now I have room for my Christmas tree again.
Well, I suppose that's it for me this week.  I have two doctor appointments next week...oh how fun.  Hopefully the eye doctor will cut this green wrist band off!  But he threatened me that HE was the only one allowed to remove it...oh alright then...lol
Hope you all are doing well and staying safe...so until next time...

William...Salmon, Lucy, and Crones.

Good morning, Friends...
We got the good news that our grandson, William, passed his Staff Sergeant exam!  He's been promoted.  We are so proud of him!  Such a hard worker...He loves Arkansas, and he loves his job...we are so happy for him!!

Salmon done in the air fryer...goodness!!  I just made a simple gravy
of soy sauce and honey...added some garlic powder and poppy seeds, then cooked.
Delicious!

My next project was making, Lunchroom Pizza...Don't mind the oven...It's too hot here to turn on the cleaning cycle....I'll do it when it's a bit cooler...anyway, I mixed the dough then put it in this Pyrex bowl to proof...Lolol...something told me to check on it a half hour early...so glad I did!  I felt like Lucille Ball in the skit with the bread!  It was huge!  Anyway, I got it punched down and placed on the 13 x 18 sheet pan...it kept growing!  The recipe said to use 2 Tablespoons of yeast...I'll be cutting that back! lol

As you can tell, there's a lot of dough. But it was good...brought back a few memories of enjoying pizza as a kid in school.  The lunchroom ladies sure are missed!  Today's lunchroom just isn't the same...
There was too much to eat so I cut the rest of the pie up and froze it.

Two pieces was more than enough!  I only made it through one and a half! lol

The 9th of August was my birthday...I'm an old Crone...Larry took me to my favorite seafood place, Tejun's.  Love their food...and the Christian atmosphere.  Christian music playing...none of that horrible riprapp garbage, filling up the place!  The corn was slathered in a butter sauce, (TIP ) thickened with a tiny bit of cornstarch.  That's why it stays on the cob so well.
I'm surprisingly alright with turning 73...It gets easier as the years go by...unbelievable, as that might seem.

Photos of Sloane for her 2nd birthday...She'll turn 2 on the 15th of August...We are both Leo's.  Momma Sam is throwing her party on Saturday the 17th so everyone can come. I can't believe it's already been two years!

This is SO her! Lolol

A birthday bouquet from our grandson Tylar and wife Sara, who are stationed in Hungary (Air Force).  I call them our HungarianBabies...lol

We really miss them, but they are due for some time off and will be here sometime in September! Can't wait...

Miss Kitty has now learned how to use the doggy door!!  She lets herself in and out whenever she pleases.  I'm so grateful that she hopefully won't be staying outside when Winter arrives.

This spooked me out!  There weren't any cars parked on the road...and none of the neighbors have lights on their mailboxes...That orb looking light was underneath our pecan tree!

I bought 6 pounds of potatoes yesterday, then came home, sliced them all up...cooked until almost tender...then let cool off on a large cookie sheet then bagged them up with my vacuum food sealer.  It's for the big jobs.
Also bought clear storage trays for the freezer.  I have GOT to get that thing organized before Winter!

Thank you, Ann! This arrived on my birthday!  I'm so lucky to have such sweet blogging friends!!

Well, I guess that's about it for me...Hope you all are safe and happy wherever you are.  Have a wonderful week!
  So, until next time...
