Babies...Bike-a-thon-and Who's a Good Boy?

We love it!  From a medium pizza to eight pieces of chicken...pork chops...etc.

This pizza was nicely browned in the center...and the crust was actually crispy!  I sprinkled cornmeal in the pan first, added the pizza then cooked it.  Seriously wonderful.  I have kept my Corsori because, simply put, there's nothing wrong with it!  Still cooks great and I will continue to use it.  Larry was the one who decided he wanted to try HIS hand at an air fryer and found the Typhur.  And... he loves pizza...lol.  Let me warn you though...it's pricey...$390 on Amazon.  But we think it's worth the money.

We were on the way to church last Sunday when, after pulling out of our street, we were faced with a Bike-a-thon from, we think, Baylor University...not sure.  We haven't really been keeping up with a lot of outside noise these days... "people be crazy", so we stay home a lot.
We had to sit for almost 15 minutes while tons of bikers rode past.  People behind us were Not happy...gunning their car motor..."Hey!!"  "C'mon man!"  Just acting like idiots and on a Sunday?  Church goers?  Where else did they have to go?  From the looks and sounds coming from them...I don't think they were late to church BUT, I could have been wrong...never know...  Larry and I just hunkered down in our seats and watched the parade of bikes fly by.  Had to be 2-300 people?  It was just a lot.  We were late getting to Sunday school class, but we had the story to tell so, it was all good.

Daughter Crystal was up for the weekend getting her Lollie hugs from the girlz.

It was Grandparents Day at Sloane and Lotties daycare last Thursday.  Everyone was SO confused...lol... We were told to wait in the foyer, so we all stood there for about 15 minutes...then the lady said we could all go to our child's room...(there were around 30-40 grandparents waiting) that was fun...We get into Sloane's room but Lottie was across the hall so...I went over and brought her back to Sloanes room...sigh... to do what...none of us had any clue.  There was nothing officially planned!  I did manage to get some cookies and lemonade for the girlz...  The teacher was busy doing...a little project with a lone student...SO... I told Larry to grab the girlz bags, and we took the girls and just left to come home.  That was enough.

Sloane...

Lottie...

Next...I'd finally finished making Grandson-in Law's rag quilt in a fishing pattern.  He liked it...

I've had this Christmas panel, 1950's look, for far too long.  So, I just did a simple old timey pattern with it and it's now at the longarmer.  I'll be using it as a tablecloth!   I wasn't going to buy more cloth, so it's been pieced...an old-fashioned look anyway.  Use what you have.

I made roast, potatoes and black-eyed peas for lunch one day...

Larry made sausage biscuits for us...

One morning I was sewing and in comes Larry with our favorite expresso mocha frappachinoed coffee from Dutch Bros.
Who's a Good Boy??!!!
But in his telling of it...this was how hard it was to get home with both coffees intact... lol

Well guys, I guess that's about it for me this time.  I hope you all are doing well...are safe and keeping busy...but not too busy! lol
so, until next time...
hugs

Finally Took the Plunge...

Good morning, Friends...
Well hopefully, I'm back to a regular posting schedule!  It just seems like it's been a really busy July...doing things at church...home...and I don't think I've sewn a lick this month!  Can't seem to get all my chickens in one place!  Not happy about that...

We did, however, finally decide on a car.  We loved our 2013 GMC Terrain so much that we bought another one.  It's hard to beat a GMC anything.  They're just a well-made car or pick-up.  The last one was made in Canada...the 2026 was made in Mexico.  Hopefully we'll get another 12 years out of this one..we'll just have to see...Hopefully one day soon, we'll start seeing more cars made in America!

It's really going to take some time to learn about everything that's on this car...Larry asked what I wanted on it, and I said since it's probably going to be our last new car...I wanted everything.  Auto-start, heated and cooled seats...heated steering wheel...auto back lift...navigation...cameras...car play...all of it.  The only thing we didn't get was 4-wheel drive.  I don't think we're going off-road anytime soon, and with what little we do drive that extra expense wouldn't make much sense.  If it snows...we don't go out.  It has front wheel drive so that should be enough.  That's the great thing about retirement...

Secrets!  lol

Samantha, Sloane and Lottie resting at home...snuggle time.

I get to keep little Lottie on Friday!  Sloane goes to daycare three days a week.  Sam has some appointment and needs free hands.

Found this sweet photo of Larry at Air Force training tech school in Colorado...so long ago.  Looks like a baby!
1968...

Never knew this...but then, why would I.

Made an easy meal for a family of three whose wife is just out of the hospital.  I figured since here was supper...they needed cookies...Everyone needs cookies!! lolol

They're not homemade but they are really good...Pillsbury.

A hamburger on lo-carb tortillas!  Why eat all that extra bread when you don't have to??  These are great!

Pork and broccoli... sorry, but the only way I'll eat the green stuff is if it's covered in cheese!

Pork ribs with Larry's baby lima beans…

Scrambled Egg, tomato and cheese Grits...

Well, that's about it for me this time.  Hope you all are doing well and are safe wherever you may be.

We are still trying to deal with the drownings at the Guadulupe River near Kerrville, Texas.  UPDATE: 120 confirmed sweet lives lost...more than 160 still missing...so far.  All those little girls...campers...it's just unimaginable.  Please say a prayer for all the families involved... so...

Until next time....

It's Just Been a Long Month...

Good Morning, Friends...
Well, the month of May is drawing to its close...I must say I'm happy to see it go.  Larry and I have had enough sadness.  Yesterday, we went to visit our neighbor in the Nursing facility and find out he's been put in Hospice...he didn't know us...and it's only been about a month since we last saw him.  We would have gone sooner but with Larry's Dad taking center stage, we just didn't go.  And... his daughter (our friend's) is the Admissions head for the facility, and she told us she may have colon cancer... That family has had nothing but sadness, for years.
SO... yes, I'm happy to kick May to the curb.

We went to lunch yesterday at the Fish City Grill.  I think the look on Larry's face is exactly how we both feel.  We are SO blessed as a family...it's hard to see other's go through so much pain knowing that all you really can do for them is pray....

Okay...enough gloomy Gus...Our little Sloane is all we need to perk us up!  These nuggets of love are truly God's gift to us... She had to change into her fluffy skirt play dress.

Our lunch at the fish place...of course we got fish & chips.  They were delicious.

I had made breakfast of bell pepper scramble and sausage.  The sausage must have contained sugar!  Look how brown they got...and only after a few minutes!  I had to turn the heat down all the way and put a lid on them.

I don't know what I'd do without my airfryer!  This fried chicken had been frozen from a previous meal, thawed (the crust was soggy) then I put into the airfryer.  They turned out fresh as the day they were fried!  Wonderful!

This looks promising!  We loved Downton Abbey...and have been missing the era dramas.

The series will broadcast on UKTV's free streaming platform U and U&DRAMA in the United Kingdom on June 18 and BritBox in North America.

Well, so much for May and all its surprises...Hopefully, June will be a happier month.  Our daughter Crystal has a birthday on the 28th...I think I'll start figuring out what to do for her...and I have the next baby blanket (Little Sydney's) at the longarmers so, I need to get the binding made...and the label.  That leaves one more for Sloane...the Dresden Plate.  Still making the blades for that one...it'll be a while. lol
Sorry about all the doom & gloom...I know life is a beautiful gift for us all.  And God certainly knows better than I do, what needs being done...so on that note...
Stay well...happy and safe and we'll see you again soon...

Tired...and The Pill.

Good morning, Friends...
Well, we got Dad buried this past Wednesday.  Larry says he's okay, but I believe he's a bit depressed.  It's only natural though.  He's had his Dad around for all of his 77 years.  Larry's younger brother isn't doing a whole lot better...but maybe just a bit.  I lost my Mother at 45 and my Dad at 51 so my experience was different from Larry's.  I just know what depression looks like and hopefully, we will work through it.  It will just take time.

We went to lunch at Rosa's, unintentionally running into Larry's brother Kenny, and sister-in-law, Debbie...after running errands preparing for Dad's funeral.  Great minds and all...

The elderly gentleman with the walker is hubby's and Kenny's Uncle Harvey...the last of the siblings.

Happier news...me and my side-kick, Sloane.  She makes our "air" breathable these days...we've had enough sadness to last us for a while.  The girls picked me up for some sweet time being together.

Our daughter and silly-girl, Crystal.

Our Samantha who's about to deliver our little Lottie Lynn in the next few weeks.  If she hasn't delivered by June 11th...they will induce labor but...I think she'll deliver before that.

Sloane...so much fun and love...

Another beautiful card from blogbuddy, Ann.  She has so much talent!  Thanks Ann!

Finally managed to get our little Sydney's quilt top finished and it's now ready for the longarm lady, Sherrie.  I'll take it later this afternoon...can't wait to get it back!

I also have been trying to work on our Sloane's quilt top.  It's going to take a longer while to finish.  I'm still trying to figure out a pattern I
want for the quilt.  But I'll get there.

A BLT from Miller's...SO much bacon!

Salmon and Italian Greenbean casserole.

Fajitas...So good!

Turkey thighs and Loaded potatoes...

And of course, we had to go to Rosa's...(see brother photo above).  This was our food picture.

AND!!  I ran across this photo on a video I was watching about the year 1944 at Penn Station!  I Swear the guy on the right is my Dad!!  He and his best friend use to catch the train at Penn!  I'm trying to figure out how to get it clear!

Stranger things have happened...like..."The Pill"  incident that happened to Larry and me the night of Dad's burial...

Proof that Larry really needed this... his mood already has improved today.  Thanks for reading to the end! lol

Later friends....
