Just Updating You...

Well, Good morning friend... my word!  It's been a while...again.  Sorry about that.  After my surgery, I came down with the beginnings of pneumonia...yeah.  I've had it once before about 6 years ago and it's no fun!  I had antibiotics here at the house because I invested in them by getting a supply from TelyRx.com several months ago.  Did you know your cancer doctors won't write you a prescription?  You have to see your primary doctor for that!  Well, I was so sick what I almost cancelled my oncology appointments!  But I didn't...I didn't!  Larry had to peel me off the floor, but I went!  lol  The first doctor orders a CBC (complete blood count) which told me I had been right...chest was infected...and yes, I wore a mask and stayed away from the other patients.  I started taking the Amoxicillin (500mg, 4 times a day).  when I got home...
Amoxicillin helps me...and it took about 2 1/2 weeks, to now, to kill the infection.  The cough was the worst... but now after healing from surgery and the horrible infection, I'm doing so much better.
I'll be starting just five treatments of radiation in another week or so?  Not sure.  I'll go get fitted for a blue body pack??  So I won't be able to move during the 2 minute sessions.  5 treatments, one every other day...for 2 weeks.   Then a pill, once a day for 4 or 5 years to keep the cancer cells away.  My PA told me that she's had 2 different women come back with reoccurring breast cancers because they thought they knew better than their doctors.  They refused the treatments...now the cancers have reappeared and are more aggressive!  Hey!  I'm TAKING my treatments!  Yes mam!  Yes mam, I am!  The PA asked if I would like to live another 15 to 20 years and Not have to fight more cancer?  I said, well, Yeah!
I know a few of my sweet blogger buddies have been through so much worse...I don't know how you found the strength except through God... and our Angels...
Thanks be to God it was a small lump!!!
So now, all I have been doing is resting...wandering around the house looking at things that are beginning to need my attention because Larry is worthless as a live-in maid.   Can't lift anything over 15lbs... until next week, hopefully!  I started a load of wash...loaded the dishwasher...made breakfast and fed Libby.  Larry has been a huge help, but I need to start trying to pitch in again.  It's too easy to sit in my chair and watch my favorites from so long ago...gotta move my rear.

The quiche I made yesterday...I was winded but did it!

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir... My all time favorite...

My sweet pug, Libby needing a shoulder rub...lol

I had bought a Fry Daddy about a month ago, before all this surgery stuff happened, and deep fried some chicken thighs...SO good and crispy!!

What's a post without Sloane? Lol...bad hair day wrestling with all those opponents ...lolol

The other meal I made was Chicken & Dumplings...hits the spot every time.

Another lackluster post...but I just wanted to let y'all know what was up... I try to settle in to look at your blogs but don't get very far...please forgive me for not talking much.... hope things will soon settle back down, so I can.  Until then, stay healthy, safe and happy!
Hugs

Sheer Bedlam....

My surgery went well!  I'm home and trying to heal.  I won't know what my treatments will be until I go see my Oncologist on the 21st and Radiologist on the 22nd of October.  Just laying around...feeling fit for nothing.  Meanwhile....

Our daughter Crystal was taken to a Houston hospital ER with appendicitis this morning!!  Say some prayers for her!  It hasn't burst and that's a good thing!  I'll let you know how everything turns out...

Yes mam...biscuits & gravy...

Larry smoked a Tri-Tip...wonderful!

I made French toast ...last week...

Smothered in butter, lemon juice and powdered sugar...oh my word...with a hot coffee!
Well, I know this post is lacking but I need to go sit in the living room, on a comfortable chair.
Hope you all are safe and happy!  Until next time...
hugs
