It's Been A Week Already...

Well, it's already been a Week around here! Insurance people wanting to come in at work and give us bids on our comp and liability insurance....geez! Getting close to the end of the month And September is the end of our business year....That means INVENTORY has to be done this next month!! So, if you've noticed that I haven't been leaving too many comments lately, you'll know why! Also, I've been trying to get the Brenda Challenge Blog up and running smoothly. We went to Williams birthday party last night at Crystals...Had a good time and Finally got to meet...."T"!! (Crystals boyfriend)....Very nice guy and his son was Really sweet. William got a new bicycle along with a bunch of other stuff.

Yes...I've created a blog JUST for the Challenges. Every week, the participants list grows...And every week, we have to add or delete...miss out on...don't Realise someone wants to play...etc!! Interview with Dr. Edgar Mitchell (NASA Astronaut)

FORMER NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr Edgar Mitchell - a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission - has stunningly claimed aliens exist.And he says extra-terrestrials have visited Earth on several occasions - but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for six decades. Dr Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview that sources at the space agency who had had contact with aliens described the beings as 'little people who look strange to us.' He said supposedly real-life ET's were similar to the traditional image of a small frame, large eyes and head. Chillingly, he claimed our technology is "not nearly as sophisticated" as theirs and "had they been hostile", he warned "we would be been gone by now". Dr Mitchell, along with with Apollo 14 commander Alan Shepard, holds the record for the longest ever moon walk, at nine hours and 17 minutes following their 1971 mission. "I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we've been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomena is real," Dr Mitchell said. "It's been well covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it's leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it. "I've been in military and intelligence circles, who know that beneath the surface of what has been public knowledge, yes - we have been visited. Reading the papers recently, it's been happening quite a bit." Dr Mitchell, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering and a Doctor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics claimed Roswell was real and similar alien visits continue to be investigated. He told the astonished Kerrang! radio host Nick Margerrison: "This is really starting to open up. I think we're headed for real disclosure and some serious organisations are moving in that direction." Mr Margerrison said: "I thought I'd stumbled on some sort of astronaut humour but he was absolutely serious that aliens are definitely out there and there's no debating it." Officials from NASA, however, were quick to play the comments down. In a statement, a spokesman said: "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe. 'Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue.'

Saturday Afternoon...

Hello again! Got to the bookstore...BAM...(Books a Million) and Ellani was already waiting for me in her car. We get inside the store and take care of the MOST important business first..."May I help you Mam?".....LOLHahaha....OoohYeah!!..."One grande Mocha please!".....then off we shuffle to our table. Instantly, we fell into our old, comfortable mode of chatter...saving the world and such....You know! Fun visit. And! While we visited, who should show up but??? Daughter and grandson!! I got some sweet "sugars" to go along with my mocha latte!

Here's the books I got from BAM: Ghost Among Us by James Van Praagh (here's a Video review LINK, given by him and hosted by Barns & Noble). It's about fifteen minutes long, so settle in with a cuppa coffee or tea. It's interesting...IF you are interested in spirituality and ghost...(DON'T Forget!!! If you listen to the link from my blog, go down and shut off my music box!)

The other book I got was Wordpress for Dummies!!LOL...I have my photo blog on Wordpress...Geez! It is HARD to learn!! Nothing like Blogger...which is Very user friendly! I use Wordpress because I can change the size of my photos easily within it...It's one of the First things I started learning about. Good book.

So, that's about it...Hubby's doing Ribs in the smoker today. I've been going in and out taking pictures for my cooking blog, which will get posted in a few days. Here's hoping your Saturday has been a fun and Happy one! Enjoy the weekend!

I'm Off! To the bookstore in about fifteen minutes, to meet up with my sweet pal, Ellani. We haven't gotten together in a while. She called yesterday with the invite and I jumped at it! I'll do a better post when I get home. Ya'll have a wonderful morning and I'll talk at 'cha in a bit!

The Whole Book?

Geez! With all the talk about books...I found this Wonderful little read in the same section of the bookstore that I found Harry Potter, all those years ago. Princess Ben was a Really fun read! In fact, from 3:30pm yesterday afternoon to 9:15pm last night I was a reading Fool!!LOL...Couldn't put it Down! Yes....I Finished it! Guess I was just in the mood for pure FLUFF!lolol...Poor Hubby says "Goodnight now...I'm going to bed now..." "Yeah, OK..."....I don't think I Even looked up!LOL...

It was just pure, magical fun. I was SO Bad! I didn't even visit my bloggie buddies (hangs head in shame).......Tonight though, Hubby has to go help his Dad put a roof on a building he built...(he's 82)...so I guess I'll get in the kitchen and make a Zucchini Quiche for supper. When he gets in, all I have to do is heat it back up in the microwave. I'll get pictures and post the recipe on my cooking blog. Ya'll have a wonderful day or night, where Ever you are!!

My Dream Room...Happy Day everyone!

Thank God for God and Angels...

A Red Light Runner...ALMOST...hit my child. Crystal will be able to tell the story better than I can. She probably hasn't had time to post about it yet, but she will. All I remember of her story was...."I'm fine Mom, Nothing hit me!".......she said one car went airborne and the other one caught fire... Damn CLOCK BEATERS!!! Always Rushing....pushing the envelope!!! Is it Really true that Yellow means slow down, while RED is just a suggestion???? I saw the same movie...(Under The Tuscan Sun)....I thought the line was funny....BUT I STOP AT RED LIGHTS!!! Crystal COULD HAVE been killed.....My God in Heaven. She was Just starting to turn left when out of No where, there was the collision...not ten feet in front of her...She said Something just stopped her. I'm a Crazy woman....But SO Very thankful my child was spared.....If it's Yellow, slow down....RED??? STOP....please.

It's been a Monday...LOL

It has been one of those Mondays that roll around every so often...You know the ones. You go to work Knowing it's going to be a Good day...and when you leave, you feel like finding Joe's Pool Hall...LOL...Geez. I helped get out the billing...licked Every envelope...I lost count after one hundred. My tongue feels like a cat scratched it...LOL...Then I went back and applied the postage...by hand..."Why don't you get a postage machine?"...you ask...Had one for Years. There was one already there in '90 when I started work. You have to lease them and at $1800.00 a year, I'll Lick, thank you. They keep getting higher and higher to lease. I Just can't justify the cost anymore. So, guess I'll go make a cuppa coffee...It's always good for what ails 'ya...Happy night or day where ever you are!

Just a Regular Saturday...With a Crooked Cape

Ever had one of those days where you felt like you could do Everything?? And by the End of the day you feel like you Really Did do everything???LOL...Geez...Got up early, we had breakfast...Hubby went out to finish working on the wood shop...(Yeah! He finished!! No more weekends devoted to siding!) I went to the bookstore Trying to find a book that seems to be non-existent, then off to the market. Got home and cooked a pot roast (with pictures on This Blog). Somehow, I ended up with little William for the evening so we devoted ourselves to watching the entire, last three episodes of Star Wars!!! I Think my "cape" is dragging the floor...LOL...Night all! Here's hoping tomorrow is a Happy one for everybody!

The Brenda Photo Challenge (July 11th) Patriotism

Well, here's My novice attempt at showing patriotism in my part of the world! I tried calling John Wayne for an appointment to take His photo...but, no answer...LOL..
All in all though, even though the USofA has it problems, there's Still no place on earth I'd rather live...or to see my children and grandchildren live. Freedom, whether large or small, is still freedom. I prize that most of all. Happy day everyone...

I Think I'm Poooooped....

I'm Poooooped.....It's been a Long day. It's also rather Hot!!!LOL.....I've been cooking pretty steady now since Crystal and the kids moved out. Did I Use to cook like this before they moved in???LOL...Geez! So, I changed my old photography blog to a cooking blog....since I jumped over to Wordpress and created a New place for my pictures. I'll keep This one for everyday...stuff and such. That makes three...LOL...With me?? So...with that out of the way, Tomorrow's the Brenda Photo Challenge!!! Hope you're all ready!!! And lastly, How to make Big Red Ice Cream. I had several friends ponder and wonder what the heck Big Red is...It's soda! Like Dr Pepper, Pepsi or Coke...If you Can't get it in your area, try using a strawberry flavored soda and a little 7Up! Works just as well. Ready? Here we go!



I Do believe all the ingredients in the picture are self explanatory....LOL...but here they are:
2 cans sweetened condensed milk
2 cans evaporated milk
2 cartons real whipping cream
1 - 2 liter bottle of Big Red


Mix the sweetened condensed milk, the evaporated milk, and the whipping cream in your ice cream mixer can.


Push in the paddle...I'm Waiting here....lolol...Ready?

Start pouring in the Big Red...slowly! You Don't want to create more bubbles than necessary!

Remember! Do Not fill it up and over the top of your paddle!! It will expand when it freezes!! Fill it to the Bottom of the top part of the paddle.

OK? See? What???!!!LOL....Ok,Ok..so I filled it a Little too high...Don't worry, I took care of the extra.....Hahaha...Good!!! Oh, Did I mention you need to taste the the stuff before you freeze it???

Put the lid on.....come on....Got it?

Plug in the motor and start adding your ice and rock salt. When you've got it filled with both, turn on the tap and put some water in with the ice! I find it freezes faster...and don't be afraid to Use That Salt!!

Now I'm not sure what kind of freezer You have, but mine is an old (30 yrs) one and it will freeze the 4quarts in about 45 minutes. It cost a Whole $12.00, so I Do Not scream at it....when I walk by, I just pat it...Good Baby.....

While it's freezing, get your freezer container ready!

Well, That's more like it!! She's Ready!!

Put the ice cream in the container, pop the lid on and put in the freezer (if it makes it to the freezer...LOL). It'll Really set up better after a couple of hours. Now HOW did that Christmas spatula get in there??LOL..

Now Wasn't that easy?? Remember also, you can use Any flavor soda you want! Trial and error! You'll find what you like after a couple of tries! For Us? It's Big Red, all the way! Happy night or day folks!!

I Need an Intervention....

I Swear!!LOL....Ice Cream!! Everywhere! In bookstores, supermarkets, people walking down the sidewalks...holding Ice Cream Cones!!! I'll bet you I've gained five pounds this last week on ice cream alone!LOL...Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, Big Red and vanilla...chocolate and almonds..pistachio almond...Geez! I haven't eaten ice cream in months...now all of a sudden, I want to plop some in a bowl and have it for breakfast!! I see no help for me except....the dreaded...Cold Turkey...LOL....Yes, I'll have to do a "self-intervention". I can do this, one Cold step at a time....night all!!

Can Gamma Come Get Us?

Well....the Grandbabies Were at the Other Grandparents house (Crystal's EX's, Dad and his wife). This morning, I get a phone call from Crystal asking if I would meet the EX's Dad and pick the kids up(she's still out of town)...Seemed Sami wasn't feeling well...as she had also said, Thursday when they were told they would be staying there this weekend. They were suppose to stay through Monday morning and then the granparents would take them to day care....Crystal gets Another text message from Sami saying, "Could Gamma pick us up?"......I do Not believe in forcing kids to stay somewhere or do something they don't Want to...I told Crys, "When and where shall we meet?"........They get here...I feed them lunch...all the while, they're acting normal as clams on a beach...I've looked for signs of illness...everywhere...nothing. Smiling, laughing, picking on each other, Sam taking a shower, Will watching Extradordinary League of Gentlemen...Ah well...the kids Forced me to eat a bowl of Big Red ice cream...(dish up some vanilla ice cream, pour Big Red over it)...LOL...Even though I have issues with Forcing someone to do something...it had to be overlooked....just this once. Happy Day ya'll!

Worthless Day!

What did we do today?? Again??LOL....Nothing worth mentioning!! Got up early and drove to a small town about thirty minutes from here to the old meat market for pork and beef sausage. Came home, grilled it (lid up),had it ready for lunch (whenever you felt like eating)....made ice tea (when ever you wanted it). Had a visit from our old high school buddy, Henry....yakked for three hours...he left and I got my bath...now I'm typing this. WoW!! Talk about Worthless!!LOL.....Hope you all had as Worthless a day as we did!!!
