We Bury a Hero...Chris Kyle

What all has been happening around here this week...Well, first of all, we buried a sweet young man today in Austin.  This was the young soldier that was gunned down in Glenrose, Texas last week.  They had a Memorial service for him in Arlington, Texas yesterday and lots of bigwigs attended.   He leaves behind two small children and a wife...His motorcade passed through Waco on his journey south to Austin and lots of people came out to give respects as it passed by.  The Patriot Motorcycle Guard attended as well...(to keep that horrible Westboro Church from protesting the service).  SO proud of them!!  God Bless You Chris...May God give you Wings.

Next up...I made butter...Yes, I did!  Wasn't hard at all!  HAD to have it to slather on Hubby's home made garlic and onion scones now didn't we???Hahaa....

Next up...That darn Pope!!  Now I'm just waiting for the church to announce it's next candidate.  Better Not Be An Italian is all I've got to say on the subject...WHAT???Hahahaa...What's that Petrus Roman thing?  Don't want to take any chances although I think God already sent a "lightening" message to the Vatican.

And last but not least...a shot of my girls, Crystal and Sam.  Sam will be EIGHTEEN on the 23rd!  Can't believe it!  Lordy I feel old....

So there it is...what I've been up to lately...most of it sad but not all.  Oh!  By the way?  Remember our Tony who had the heart attack?  Well, he's doing great!  I KNOW it was from all of your prayers...yes it was...Sending love to you all!

Oh my gosh, this is a newsy and photo-laden post!

I was heartbroken to hear about our true, blue American hero being killed. The outpouring of love and respect by his fellow Texans is tremendous!

Homemade butter? Scones out of the oven! Oh, I am so THERE.

Kind of surprised about the pope. I grew up Catholic and it was complete news to me that you could just up and resign. Makes you wonder if he is losing his faculties or something like that.

And I'm so glad that your co-worker is on the mend. Thank you, dear God!

I grew up Catholic as Well! I think he was just wanting to let someone else handle the "problems" the Church is facing...And he's really not up to the challenge...
I think the Challenge will be fun...
Nice night girlfriend!

I had no idea that you were the domestic goddess butter churning type.

A savory scone slathered with homemade butter ... mmmmm girl you are after my heart. Sam and Crystal look exactly the same age and that is not a slight to Sam but a compliment to Crystal and you can tell her I said so. I'm sorry the weather was so bad for Chris Kyle's memorial day. Godspeed to him, a great hero, and may the Lord comfort his family.

Wonderful, moving photos of Chris' motorcade and butter? You made butter? Tell us how you did it. I haven't made butter since I was a kid! My mom but it "all together" and I churned it. Lovely photo of your girls!

It's been a tough week so I'm going to focus on that butter you made ~ it's the simple treasures that are often the sweetest. *smile*

So so sad about Chris Kyle. God bless his family! Glad the Westboro Church group were kept from disrupting the services. We saw some of the memorial service online.

Thought that was interesting about the lightning strike on the Vatican. And the asteroid fell on Russia. It truly has been a week and a half!
