Mandevilla...Where have you Been all my Life?
Our San Antonio friends visited last weekend and in doing so, my education of blooming plants of the South, expanded! This is a Mandevilla...who knew it thrived in Texas as well in the Southeastern states?! Be still my heart....Of course since it gets so hot here you have to baby it a bit more but look at those blooms! You can keep it potted, add a small trellis and Bob's Your Uncle. Just a side note...ALL parts of the plant are poisonous! So if you have small children or pets that like to eat your flowers...don't buy one! Not only did I find one at our local nursery but it comes it different colors. Red, yellow and pink. You know me though...its 'gotta be PINK! Check at your nurseries... You might just fall in love this weekend!
(No pets or small children were hurt while taking this photo) ;o)

Wow, it's SO beautiful!! Almost reminds me of hibiscus. Lucky you!!
Glad no one was injured during the photo shoot! LOL
xoxo
Gracious! That is GORGEOUS! But it would not thrive up here in Yankee Land... Too cold.
And with small grands, I couldn't take the chance.
Love it though... The fact that such a beautiful plant, is poisonous. Makes for all kinds of possible comparisons, of women to plants. -gigggggles- And heh, heh, heh...
The saying; "Bob's Your Uncle!" Never heard that, other than in a cute British Cozy Mystery. "Her Royal Spyness's" ladies maid, used to say it, all the time. :-))))))))))
Is your background British, possibly?
I've never heard it, in real life, in all my 76 years. But then, I've spent most of those years, up here in Yankee Land. Could it be a Southern saying?
I don't think I have ever heard this name, it is truly STUNNING!!! And I love your pink.
I havve had a red,red/white and pink. The pink always captures my eye also.
It is beautiful! The pink color is irresistible!
A beautiful but deadly flower!
I've never heard of them. What a gorgeous flower and I think I would have chose pink also. Even flowers are pretty in pink :)
A beautiful killer, eh?
I love Mandevilla but can only enjoy it on my deck in the summer. They also have them in white which is my preferred color these days to go along with my blue flowers.
Cheers and have a wonderful Sunday!
I have several, put them in the greenhouse to over winter and then back on the trellises for the spring and summer...it doesn't surprise me at all that they do well in Texas! Must tell my pal Lee in San Antonio!

It is indeed a beautiful blooming plant! Sadly I do not have the time nor the patience to baby it so it would be as beautiful if I were to own it!
Ooooh! That one's new to me too. Sometimes the prettier a thing, the more toxic. Why is that? xoxo dear friend!
They have these at the greenhouse in Robinson! A little darker color though but pretty!
That is just gorgeous! :)
Gorgeous flower! I get so far behind, and then have to catch up. I just realized you are on Pinterest so I am now following you! Will check back later and pin some of your pins!
