Determination...

Morning!  This is another "barn kitty" that was just begging me for a photo shoot...silently...yes, I heard his voice in my head...Hahaaa....and it's about the last good time I've had lately.

Trust me, I look at this every day...Remember these days?  A good old fight on the playground!  Yep, good times.

This hunk of sugar is white chocolate.  I used the microwave on the first batch and then a double boiler on the last of the bars...BOTH batches seized up on me!  I have NO clue as to why...trashed!  Money down the drain....
All because I thought I could make Cake Balls...My daughter Crystal, pops 'em out like the recipe was made Only for Her!  Me?  Not so much...In fact if I EVER see another cake ball I should surely do something dastardly...truly.  I tell you I had chocolate all over my kitchen but I hung in there!  I finally got the dark chocolate to melt but then I rolled the cake balls in it and put them on a RACK to dry...a RACK...YES!  I'm an IDIOT!Hahaaaa....I had to push them up from the bottom to get them off that rack...what a mess.  Crystal then states: "I TOLD you to use wax paper...I Did!"    I only tried making these so I could give them to our son in law for his doing me a favor here at work last week.
What a mess, huh?!!Hahahaaaa.....gads....Then Crystal (the daughter) blithely states that the recipe is SO EASY TO MAKE.....so easy.....ok....I'm going to HER house next time and letting her mix up a batch.  AND, I'm timing her!Hahaaa.  Surprisingly, I like how they taste...Lime Balls.  I like lime...but this was not a project for me to try out ALONE!Hahaaa...How did I get chocolate on my elbow?????
Later guys.....

Yeah, I've made plenty of those kind of recipes! I don't think there much I'll try off of Pinterest anymore, if you know what I mean! I thought I heard somewhere that if your chocolate seizes up it's because a little bit of moisture got in there somewhere!

Never tried to make cake balls. Sounds too much like work if you have to throw away chocolate and wear the rest, LOL. Just let Crystal make them from now on and stick to what you know. Why frustrate yourself? Like, you don't have enough frustration in your life? Hahaha, don't answer that one! And lime oreos? Oh gosh, that's going down on the next grocery list...

P.S. Nice photo of the barn kitty! She looks like she has "attitude."

hahahaha!! You tried.

I used to make peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate. Very seriously doubt if I'd remember how. :)

sometimes it's the recipes that they say are easy that are the hardest for me to do.
They look good

Ugh. Oh, I hate it when something is supposed to be easy and I can't do it. And it makes a huge mess. :(

I hate it when I make a mess of something someone else says is "so easy"! :-) These look delicious, though! I mean, are you trying to get me to go on a binge!?:-) Hope all is well with you and yours....more bad news every day!!!! It was good to be away from most of it for a while, but we have to stay informed so I'm catching up with news as well as my blogging!

Lime is a favorite here. I have had this happen, but it looks like you got the job done. There is a trick somewhere, maybe added patience. I just hit the bakery when close, but have had some luck with a few pies lately. It can make your home a hangout.

See, I would be a total loser at that. Wouldn't even attempt it. But LIME OREOS ? FOR REALZ ???? xoxo

The black kitty is cute though does look wary of you. The finished cake balls do look tasty. But I think I would have just bought him a bag of those oreos. LOL

Hi Donna.....chocolate in microwaves will seize up if you heat it for too long at one time....the best stuff to use is candy melting discs sold at Michaels and you start with 30 seconds and stir then 30 seconds and stir and then in 10 second increments stirring until it's nice and melted....

The chocolate cake balls sure do look good! Sorry you had so much trouble with them, don't you just hate when that happens?

I got suckered in to that whole cake ball thing...even bought the book! It looked so EASY! Yea...it was a freakin' disaster for me!! I still have the book and all of the "stuff" but I haven't tried it....I was so pissed off! I think some people just have the baking "gene" and I don't. :(

I've had a few of those disastrous recipes that were suppose to be so easy. Lime Oreos? I'll have to look for those at the grocery store!
