Good morning Friend! I know...It's been another "while" since the last post. I will admit I have no real excuse except...having to play with sweet babies...chat with daughter...visit with granddaughter...and just generally, enjoy myself. I started a project for granddaughter Samantha and have been trying to figure it out (a baby blanket with ruffles...sounds easy but to a fair newbie, I have to figure things out. AND... I decided to create another blog just for my quilting projects so if some of you could care less about them, you won't be subjected. For those of you who ARE interested, The link is on the right side of this blog or... here's the link:
Grandma Lolli, Lottie and Sloane
We really had a sweet time of it last Saturday. Sami had a hair venue to go to...Daughter Crystal and I "watched" the baby girls. I think they watched us, instead! lol
Sam and Everett with the Girls...
She never fails to create the sweetest cards! Thank You Miz Ann!!
I made Cinnamon Rolls ...
We went out to a Chinese restaurant called, Cathay House after church... Have you EVER seen Egg Drop Soup this dark?? And it stunk!! Like a foot odor... nasty!
Greasy Lemon Chicken...this was my order...Larry ordered Moo Goo Gai Pan... also bad...cold and mushy noodles.
We've been going here since it opened in 1960. Then the owners sold it... We won't be going back.
This was a test batch I made for us to try. Pear Crescents. We have our Sunday School Christmas party this coming Saturday and I'm bringing a dessert...this, in fact. It turned out really good so it's a "Go" to make Saturday morning.
I've seen it all over the internet. I printed out the recipe (Ree Drummond) to try. Let me know if you try it first! lol

Now Libby is doing the "hunt" with her new bed...I'm done trying to figure out the why of it all. I'll just let her enjoy the exercise...lol
Well, here's hoping you are enjoying the season, so far. Stay safe while out shopping!
So, until next time...

You certainly do have a beautiful family. The pictures are great with the ribbons and the white gate/fence. I do love me some egg drop soup but I've never seen it that color. enjoying life and family is so good...time gets away from us and it's perfectly okay..making sweet memories with loved ones is what is important. Hoping your day is filled with God's abundant blessings.
Those are such wonderful photos of your beautiful family!
What a bummer on the chinese restaurant. We don't seem to have good ones around here lately either.
Merry Christmas!
Awe, you are so blessed. You have a wonderful and beautiful family. That photo with the two girls and the green bows was gorgeous.
I didn't know those two people who stayed on board were the Macy's. What a story.
Those cinnamon rolls look so good as well as the pear crescent. Made a copy of the pie dough.
Thanks, and have a good week. Merry Christmas.
Such a beautiful family you have...in so many ways! Glad all is well and you know that I will be going to the quilt site. :)
I love the name of your quilt link. Very clever.
You have such a gorgeous family. Great photos.
Isn't it such a disappointment when you go to the tried and true restaurant and its a major fail? So many places are terrible now. Its hard to find a good one around any more.
Ummm, those pear crescents look divine. I've done that with apple slices but the pear sounds really good to try too.

Spending time with family is a valid excuse for not having blogged in a while! And what a lovely family you've got Donna! That photo of Sami's family is gorgeous!
I'll have a peek at your new blog, but first of all let me tell you that I just LOVE the title!
So sorry the Chinese restaurant was a disappointment :-( xxx
Awesome photos of your family, they are beautiful. The cinnamon rolls and pear crescents, wow, they look very tasty. Hope Libby figures out what she is trying to figure out. :) Have a wonderful week.
Hi Donna, I would stick with your cooking. It is always perfect, but can't get that eating out. Been dissapointed with food many times. Love the Christmas pictures of your family. They are all stars!
I'm trying to get back into blogging...but it hit and miss!!! Love and Hugs.
So pleased to read that you have been busy 'generally, enjoying yourself' . . . that sounds good to me :)
Beautiful family photographs and your cinnamon rolls look very tasty.
Keep on enjoying your December days.
All the best Jan
Oh I so hate it when a restaurant is sold and the new owners SUCK. It has happened more than once to us...and we have never gone back to them. How fun to have to sweeties come over. I know you were thrilled and over the moon having them around. Janice
Sloane and her baby sister are totally adorable. What a treat to be able to spend time with them.
You are very welcome for the card. My pleasure.
Those cinnamon rolls look so good
Your bakes looked wonderful!!! Great to see you posting. Sounds like you're enjoying life and that's a wonderful thing ❤️
Excellent photos of your lovely family - beautiful genes you have passed on. Your food does look very nice and I wouldn't go back to that Chinese place for food either, turn you off.
Thanks for the link to your quilt...I'll visit and add to my list.
Take care, Donna.
it is much better to spend your time with family than with us. Keep on doing what you do. can't wait to see ruffles on a baby quilt.. Your new blog is beautiful and love the name. I have a 3rd blog that I did for a few short moments. it gets hard to keep up with more than one, now I only do one of the three and can't keep up.
enjoy your life, they will be all grown up in the blink of an eye
Love the photos of your family, buddy! So beautiful! Would you believe I've never made a pie crust in my life? Maybe I'll try this one! I hate when a restaurant that you loved changes hands and goes down hill! That happened to a Mexican restaurant by us! XO
What a handsome family. Grandma Lolli looks young enough to be mom instead of grand. Happy Holidays and hugs,
Hello! What a beautiful family! Your baking looks delicious. And good Chinese food is awesome, but bad Chinese food is bad!!!!!!! Have a cozy evening!
