Heartbreaking for Any Parent…😒

This is heartbreaking…This is my granddaughter, Samantha’s, best friend, Raygen and her husband Michael.  They’d been SO happy only a few days ago…now their son, Sutton, is gone.

Please say a prayer for them…πŸ’—πŸŒ·πŸ’—

Raygen writes……πŸ’™

Our sweet Sutton went to be with Jesus this evening. He is resting in the arms of our Lord. He fought the good fight, and now he’s our perfect guardian angelπŸ’™

Selfishly, I wish we could have kept him here with us forever, but his little body was so tired.

He is so handsome, so loved, so perfect. He made it way longer than they thought he would, and exceeded many expectations in his few days on earth. Every single second we got with him was an amazing blessing, and I’m so grateful for all the moments we spent with him. I cannot thank the NICU team enough for taking such good care of our boy, and us too. Those ladies are true angels on this earth.

Sutton Zane is the best gift I’ve ever received, and my proudest accomplishment, and I’m beyond proud to be his mama. πŸ’™ I’m so thankful to have had his Daddy by my side through all of this. He is my rock. Please continue prayers for our family in the days that lie ahead. πŸ’™

2022...

Morning friends... Christmas has come and gone once again.  It seems that the years are picking up a bit of speed as time moves forward.

I've almost always been an early riser...and a firm believer that the early bird always gets the worm.  So... after a few pleasant detours, I find my way to the kitchen, open the refrigerator, and stand staring into its abyss.  After some minutes of thinking what sounded good on a cold but sunny morning?  Quiche'.... the old standby.  Out came the eggs, a tad of onion, bell pepper, bacon bits, cream cheese and shredded cheddar.  Threw it all together and 60 minutes later, quiche'.  It was very good...I was pleased.

I don't believe Libby the puglet, was impressed...brunch time is her nap time.  I then proceeded to mix up hot chocolate.  The kids loved the junk with the Rabbit on the front...the Nestles' stuff.  I'm not a fan but they thought it hung the moon so... anyway, I use dark cocoa, powdered sugar and Carnation Creamer.  It always turns out delicious.

Well, sitting here plotting my next move.  Laundry or...?

I'll be dropping in on you, so be ready!  Stay warm or cool, wherever you are.

Merry Christmas...Before and After

Good morning!  It's been getting pretty busy around here in the kitchen.  Cookies, candy...cake.  And I'm not through.  We enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving with the kids, all but three.  Will and Tylar are in the Air Force...and doing duty, Ty in Hungary with his wife, Sara...William is stationed in Arizona, off on duty somewhere in the world that he can't tell us about...We miss them all something awful...Praying they all are safe and well.

Made the traditional turkey feast.  We all had a sweet time.  But then...they all leave. πŸ˜’  I believe, if you've been following me long, that I don't do "empty nesting" well.  I'm so use to the noise...fun...all of it.  But, they grow up, get married or whatever, and fly the coop.  Oh yes, I know...It's normal.  I did the same thing growing up, to my parents.  But...I can still miss it.  I love being a mom, gamma.  I turned 70 this last summer.  Life really is rolling by fast.  Now my granddaughter and hubby are trying to become parents themselves.  No luck yet.  Do I feel old?  Nope...not in the least.  But I scare the crap out of myself every time I pass a mirror!  Who in the heck is that old biddy??Hahaa...Oh well, such is life.

Well, I hope you all enjoy your Christmas celebrations, no matter what they are.  Here's wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  Be safe out there!

A Sweet Thanksgiving...

Good Morning Guys...Decided I needed to pop in and leave an update.  Again, it's been a while.  I hope all of my American friends enjoyed a safe and peaceful Thanksgiving!  We did...and of course, I made too much and ate too much.  Starting a halfhearted diet on Monday.  Our two Air Force grandbabies couldn't come though...Busy doing Air Force stuff...Christmas is coming and I don't want to pack on any more weight!  I had been SO good and lost that pesky 20 lbs in about 5 months...wasn't really hard at it..walking mostly...but I felt so much better.  Then I was bad!!  Chips and apple fritters are NOT calorie free!! 😞

I've made turkey tetrazzini...it's in the oven.  But I scaled it down to just two servings for Larry and one for me.  I think I need to freeze the rest of the smoked turkey...don't want to waste any of it.

Well, I hope you all are well?  No covid??  I pray not...Larry and I are staying well...no illnesses so far.  We did get the vaccines and will probably get the booster.  Yes, we're Republicans and feel very strongly about our right to choose... but I had Covid in 2019 and it almost got the best of me.  Pneumonia set in...soooo... We are too old to be playing with our health.  I'm 70 and Larry is 74 and our immune systems suck...

Well, hope you all are enjoying your day...will be coming to check on you!

Until next time....πŸ’–
