Hahahaha .... guess what I had a Tressie Doll - she was the same size as Barbie, but with the added bonus that her hair grew! Oh boy was I into combing dolls hair way back then. Oh what memories you brought back lol.... Hughugs Rosie x
Really? 50 years! I didn't know that. I had never owned a Barbie doll.I am older than Barbie, but I had not a Barbie when I was a little girl....... Have a happy week!:)
That picture is a hoot! I had the same Barbie, with the black and white striped bathing suit. Ken had a red and white striped shirt, if I remember right. And a blond crew cut.
And I bet her boobies are tripping her as she walks, LOL! Yes, I had one back in the 50s, when they all looked like streetwalkers. It was soooo strange why they were made like that!
Ooooh, I'll have to check out the next photo challenge and sign up!
Hard to believe that Barbie is 50. I had loads of them when I was younger ~ Lauren is not keen on them and although she has a few of them, she hardly plays with them! (she is too busy dancing ha ha !) Love and hugs Tabitha XXX
I burst out laughing when I saw this photo. Still, she looks pretty darn good. She still has a great jaw line. My Barbie was blonde with the black and white stripe suit, but mine had blue feet. I think the dye must have still been wet on the shoes. I used to make up all kinds of stories as to how they came to be blue.
Brenda- I never had the bendable leg one but Crystal did! Tons of them! She was Always cutting their hair and bathing them!Hahaa...They were also her "students"...along with the dog!hughugs
Jazzi- Whoa! What a memory there Girl!!Hahaa...Fun though, weren't they?!!hughugs
Donna-Hahaha...That is SO True!!! Little sluts...Hahahaa...hughugs
Tabitha- Lauren is Probably going to be Prime Minister when she grows up...lolol...hughugs
Joan- Actually....we MAY see them for sale!!Hahahaa....GADS...hughugs
Cindra-Hahahaa...You know? I think I remember a dark tinge on MY Barbie's feet!! Mine had black pumps....hughugs
oh my goodness....that is great!!!!! i had barbies and my girls had barbies.....but my girls' kids haven't been given barbies yet.....course most of them are boys!!!!! thanks for the smile! hugs, kimberly
Happy 50th Barbie. You picture makes her look her age a little more than the store bought Barbie. Why doesn't her figure change? At that age she should have some celulite or thicking midsection. Not fair. Love and hugs XXXXOOOO
I always had the Barbie's with no hair. I mean I would TRY and do it properly but then I had to keep taking off a little more here a little more there to get it just so & you'll never guess before I knew it they were bald as badgers b.... Now one other thing after reading A bite of country cupcakes I am intrigued about Reece's peanut butter cups you don't see them here in Australia. Are they a choccy filled with peanut butter or what??? I am a chocolate & peanut butter freak but TOGETHER I don't know about that!!
I had Tressy and my aunt bought her the air hostess uniform!!! My sister had a Sindy doll.
Dom had several Barbies but the one that I remember the most had her foot chewed off. I spent hours trying to get the skiing chalet to stay together.(It's good to know one day she'll have a daughter perhaps. I'll buy her a Barbie to get my revenge)

I didn't have one until I was a bit older and she was a blond with bendable legs in a pink one-piece suit.
Isn't odd how we remember these things when I can't remember what I wore yesterday??
