I GOT HIM!!!!

The morning started out with a delicious breakfast....
I can't believe I captured this bird in "take-off" mode!!Hahaaa...
See Mr. Possum going around the back of the garden??
See...See????? I'm So excited at this point!!LOL...
Cheeky little cuss!! Not a care in the world!!
He just simply starts climbing the back fence, nice and slow!
Up he goes!
Can you see him staring at me?

OhYes!! (happy dance) As I had told ya'll in a previous post, something had been getting into the garden and "rooting" around! WELL!! Guess who came slinking into the yard this morning??? YES! Mr. POSSUM!! I thought they were nocturnal?!!! It was 8:45am! Sun shinning and here he comes out of the back bushes without a care in the world!Hahaa...WELL! I says to myself...and then I remembered the Sage advice a very good friend once gave me..."Never go Anywhere without your Camera!"....LOLOL....Right!! Miz Brenda, you'd be SO ashamed of me this morning! There I was, having a coffee on the patio...observing the world, in general, grateful for life and sunshine, when I see Mr. Possum meandering towards the garden! Adrenaline starts kicking in...and "go Nowhere without your Camera" pops into my head, I swear!!Hahaaa...SO! quickly but quietly I edge towards the door, gently pull it open and haul ass (sorry, but I DID), hollering to everyone to "Be Quiet and DON'T go Outside!!" So Naturally, everyone bales out the back door to get a look!Hahahaa...Grabbing my trusty Canon...Out I go...on the hunt...tiptoeing...my prey is taking it slow and I have Just enough time to gather my evidence! Bingo! I got him! And would you believe it? I Really think I could have picked him up and he wouldn't have been frightened! I didn't though...Rabies Always lurks in the back of one's mind. Now here I sit posting my Sunday morning adventure...Trying to figure out just How in the world I can attach that damn camera to my body...at All times...Hahaaa...WHAT??!!!
Happy day to you all!!

Well done .
Our possums don't look much like that one though.
We get Brushy tail...They are huge and big pests and then sugar gliders which are tiny and oh so cute...
I too wish I could strap my camera to myself...The things I have missed capturing forever because it was'nt with me.

Well done. Well clicked and captured! My first reaction was 'yuk, it looks like a rat from behind' but I googled it and found out that an opossum is the only north American marsupial, and that it has opposable thumbs on its hind feet. I then wondered what a scuttlebutt was and found out that it's gossip: "Idle, often sensational and groundless talk about others". It can also be a ships barrel containing water. I've learnt so much today I'm now exhausted.

Dabrah-Hahahaaaa...I'm SO Glad you got to learn something New Girl!! I got "scuttlebutt" from my Dad who use to talk about all the "scuttlebutt" going on around the ship...(he was in the Navy during WWII) They'd stand by the "bucket" and have Great "pow-wows" about girlfriends, the war etc...It's a wonderful "memory" word for me...Happy day sweetie!! And Thanks for all the info!!hughugs

You did good, girl!! I'm proud of you!

...I AM glad you didn't try to get close to him , tho! Sounds like the animal may have been sick- to be out at that time of day!

A couple years ago I found A family of them had made their home in a birdhouse in my yard! LOL-YES-I got pics too- and did a post! I had Charles take them- bird house and all- down to the pasture to set them free! (They can be fierce little things when they choose!)

Hugs))

A few years ago John found a a baby possum swimming in our pool and got it out with the pool net!

He laughed so hard about it because he said it looked like it had been swimming for hours. He had such a soft heart..

Hugs to you too..
