What Did You Do Today??

How strange is This??!!!!
It Followed us!!!

I bought Marigolds for the vegetable garden (keeps bugs Out of the garden...they don't like the smell).
Yellow and orange ones.....
They came in this neat pack!
This is Pineapple Sage!! Gads! It smells JUST like a pineapple!
New dirt added...Yes everything is puny right Now, but You just wait!!....ahhhh....well, Hopefully!!Hahaa...
Geraniums for my pots...Red...
Hot pink....
Pink and red Dianthis...
Pink Calla Lilly...

Well, I've been WORKING!!!Hahaa....Know how you feel when the backyard is all brown and crispy?? I Couldn't stand it another minute so off we went to town this morning...at 7:15! We were in and out of Sam's Club in about 20 minutes...home to drop off the groceries and then off to Lowes for the garden shopping. A few ($$$) dollars later, I had fresh dirt, flowers, tomatoes, and herbs to play in the garden and yard with. I finished at high noon and it was already starting to get warm... I have a feeling it's going to be a hot Summer.
SO, I think I'll go find a comfy place to park it and finish my coffee. Ya'll have a Wonderful night! Before I go though, Thank You Brenda for hosting today's Challenge!!! There were some Wonderful entries!! Also, there were late comers so go back to the Brenda Blog and see who you missed!!

Hi Donna
I love my pineapple sage - where you live it should be a perrenial? Ain't Spring Fever contagious? Everyone I know is suffering, suffering, suffering from it. Chilly nights and warm days. Love my spring.
I am planting some brocoli tomorrow and some potatoes later this week, along with some vidalias.
There are some good reads out there on companion planting. I am very big into that. You can plant your flowers with your veggies - makes it pretty and resourceful.
Always blessed
Blondie

We went plant browsing today...couldn't find any to buy just yet, so we bought a greenhouse type thing and seeds, so me and the kids are going to attempt to grow something on our own. Don't know how well it will work, so we'll see. I didn't know that about the marigolds, though. I'm gonna get some of them for sure.

Dang, I am so jealous! We can't put in our flowers for another month yet! Love all those choices. Can't wait to get geraniums for our big planters near the front porch.

Oh wow, you've been a busy little bee! It looks great! What do you think was plowing through, though? EEKs, that's not good!

Yes, marigolds, I plant them every year for the color but need to wait a bit. I'm sure hoping the things I cut back, will come back like the iris's and palms; they took a major hit.

Have a beautiful Sunday, Ms Donna! (hugs)

I've never heard of pineapple sage, I'll be on the lookout for it, I love herbs! I've had lemon balm before and it smells delicious. We're having another cool snap (in the upper 50's during the day and cloudy) but maybe in a week or so I'll go hunting for garden plants.

Happy Sunday!

Did you find out anything about the unusual cloud?

Pineapple sage is a new one on me. Do you cook with it? Or is it just for the garden?
How nice to be able to start planting already!

Hello Donna
Just popped in from Caroline's blog.
Garden work down here is getting easier now the awful hot weather has gone, with the change in seasons things are slowing down but they never stop do they?
My mother always planted marigolds in the belief bugs didn't come near 'cose of the smell:)
Take care
Cathy

Donna your garden is looking good. I need to go out there and dig mine over and start planting for this year. I hope I do a bit better than I did last year - one day I had all these baby veg growing and the next day there were just bits of stubble sticking out of the ground. I don't know what ate them all, but it wasn't me. I'm going to look out for pineapple sage, it sounds smellicious!

What's that wisp of smoke you said was following you? Was it a twister?

Donna,

You're getting on with your planting and gardening! I haven't yet started anything. Need to do a lot of trimming back and weeding out! (yah! Weeds grow when everything else dies! :( )

I - for one-LOVE Marigolds! I usually plant some every year! Nothing brighter or more cheery looking!
