Tylar Waid...US Air Force

Tomorrow is the day he leaves...Our Grandson...Off to do his duty. A new life and journey. May God and the Angels be with him as he walks this path. I hate war...Like the saying goes, If you're not in it to win it...Get The Hell Out! This is just a tough post to do....Can't think of the right words to say...That's just not me. He will really be missed but as Hubby says, there's always FaceBook, cell phones, snail mail, e-mail, blogs....Hahahaaa.....geeeezLouise. Crystal took this photo while they were on their vacation to Colorado. That's Sami sitting with him....but I guess y'all know that by now....SEE???Hahahaaa....Stumped for words....Guess I'll stop typing...somethings wrong with my throat and my sight keeps blurring up....dammit....Happy Sunday Gang.

I know you guys are proud of him. My brother served in the Air Force, and he says it was the best experience of his life.

God bless him for signing up to serve! Don't worry, grandma - just hand those frets over to God and he'll take care of your grandson!

It is hard to talk them out of it once they have signed on.I did with my oldest and feel good about it each day.Communication is a lot better, I kept in contact with a friend on both stints he served. It is love and compassion that keeps their mind in a thought, that there is no place like home.

I will be thinking of you and your family. I saw the video that Crystal did and my eyes were not dry. *HUGS*

I can barely imagine how hard this must be. Hopefully, his service will do some good and he'll come back safely. Hugs.

I know exactly how you are feeling right now since I went through the same thing when my son left. Sending him to boot camp was hard enough but when I took him back the last time before he deployed it was the worst.
Thank goodness for computers, it was a lifesaver while he was gone.
God bless your grandson and big hugs to him as he goes off to serve his country.

Thinking of you and wishing him the best. It is a hard thing, I know. My son did two tours of duty in the Middle East.

OH Donna, bless your heart. Your grandson has made a good decision, but it's never easy to see him leave. This will change him, but not for the worse. He will leave a boy and return a man. He has such a great future ahead of him. But let me warn you, that blurry vision is sure to come and go from now until he is home...I love you!

The Air Force is a fine position to serve in. If he still has boot camp and AIT to do, maybe some of the rough stuff will be over before he'd have to go to a war zone. Think positive thoughts gramma! ((hugs))

Paxie here....retired Air Force LOL

See how weird I ended up? No, just kidding. I'm happy he chose the Air Force. They only pick the best hahaha

Trying to cheer you up. I went through 2 years of hell telling my son not to go in. Purely selfish on my part. He's my only and I want him near home. I knew it wasn't for him.

It's hard but he will be fine. The AF only does 4 month deployments and 99% of them volunteer to go. When I was in, we only had snail mail and phones. You'll talk to him all the time :) ((Hugs))

May God be with your grandson. I cannot imagine what you and his parents are going through. It is a huge sacrifice and all I can say is, may all of us who benefit from it live worthy of it. God bless you and your family in 2011, Donna!

God bless you all, Donna. I know it isn't easy. A friend of ours is sending his 20 y/o son off tomorrow for a second stint in Afghanistan. The father said we may hear from him for a couple of days (the dad) because of his emotions about his son leaving again. I only imagine how all of you are feeling as well. We'll pray for Ty. ((hugs))
