I Just Needed to Smell...

a Bookstore!!Hahaaaa....Yes, I'm weird! We have all gotten so techie lately. If there's a book I've seen or heard of that I'd like to read, it's just too easy to download it onto my Kindle...Good for me but bad for the bookstores...So, today, I wanted a new book to go along with my new IMac and some photography books. Photography books are the one thing I absolutely will not download. I want to be able to hold it in my hands and look closely at the pictures. Lately it's been a bit hectic around here and when I get the chance, I run to our local Barnes & Nobel. The smell that assails you when you walk in through the front door is marvelous! BOOKS! INK! COFFEE...WHAT????Hahaaaa.....I don't want to see bookstores go the way of the dinosaur...We NEED them. So, if you get a chance...go visit one. Buy something...Maybe they'll stay with us a while longer.
And the photo? Ever heard of "New History?"Hahaaa...it just struck me as funny. I know what they mean but the wording is just a giggle.
It's rainy here and coldish (50) for a high. Just a nasty day but we really needed the rain. It's a "book" day...Guess I'll go grab a hot coffee and start leafing through my new finds. And YES I'm at work but I'm through with all my entries and I'm married to the boss....Hahaaa...
Have a wonderful and safe day!

I think the larger bookstores are safe for the time being, but then I think of record stores.

I broke down and got a Nook but do hope bookstores never go away. It's worrisome though.

I love bookstores! I have a Barnes & Noble gift card I'm going to spend next week, when I go into Boise to pick up my new glasses! I'm sooo looking forward to it!

I have faith that there will always be bookstores... In Boise, we still have a very popular record store. They sell vinyl, new releases and vintage! My son loves vinyl, so it's one of his favorite places.

Barnes and Noble is one of my favorite places to hang out. Coffee and books, pure heaven!

"Auntie" is diggin' in her heels. No Kindle. Not yet. Not till I really can't see.

I want to hold a real book. Even if it's kind of heavy. I want the feel of it. And I want to have to put my fav bookmarks in it, to keep my place. -pout-

OK! Off my soap box. -grin-

Oh, I'm with you; I hope bookstores don't have to close, it would be a real shame.

Personally, I like holding the book in my hands and lately I've been reading so much, I've been visiting the thrift stores. I'm probably reading the same books I've read before, but who cares if I don't remember! :)

Love the photo. Have a good evening Ms Donna. ((hugs))

I do love my kindle but when it comes to craft books, those I still need to have a real book. I don't know that I've ever noticed a specific smell in a bookstore. I'll have to pay attention the next time I go in one

I have a gift card to B&N but the closest one is more than half hour away-in a town I never have a reason to go to so sadly I'll probably use it on their online shop. We do now have a Books a Million, but no coffee shop inside (boo). Ah well. I picked up enough titles at the annual book sale at the library that I'll be reading them for a LONG while yet!

You make me laugh with this post, Donna. I love the smell of books, too. I often hold one in my hand and just sniff it. Must look like a complete wierdo, lol.

That sign is the funniest!! As for bookstores closing, my daughter accuses me of closing bookstores because I got a Kindle for Christmas last year. ha ha. Well, you know... it just takes one person.

I am a regular at the library and enjoy going to bookstores to drink some joe and read for free.

There's nothing like the smell of a Barnes & Noble. TG and I like to hang out there for hours. I don't have a Kindle but I'd like to get one for TG, and Erica's clamoring for one as well. I love to hold a book in my hands. We buy books constantly. It's an addiction!

We had Borders close a couple of months ago. We only a couple of bookstores left! I agree that there are some books, like photography, craft, or recipe, that HAVE to be in a real book! But man-oh-man, I sure do love my Kindle too!

I love my Kindle, but I also love bookstores and real books.

I know exactly what you mean, Miss Donna! I walk into a bookstore with my nose in the air too... *hehehaha*
Borders just recently closed around here and I was so sad... that leaves up with not much to choose from around here anymore in the way of bookstores... :(
Hope you're having a wonderful week, dearie!

I love the smell of books and the feel of the pages especially hard back books. I will never be able to convert to reading a book on a Kindle or my iPad! Ha, ha.

I agree, don't want the book stores to go. Kindle is great but I like to hold the book in my hands. Save the Book Stores! Thank you for visiting. Hugs...Lu
