What a great singer she was...Bless her heart. Here's the link to the video where she sang the National Anthem...I've NEVER heard it sung more beautifully....
I agree that it was the best National Anthem! I am so saddened that she took a wrong turn with her life and didn't continue to positively use the God given talent that she was given. God bless her and may she now be at peace.

it was sad, i was amazed at the following she had at my work
Very sad...even more sad...it wasn't unexpected. She was a great talent at one time.
I heard she had gotten help last year and was working on a comeback. So very tragic. She was the best and of course my favorite female vocalist!
She was such a awesome singer..so sad what drugs can do to a persons life.
She was such a wonderful singer...it is very, very sad what the drugs did to her. I feel so bad for her daughter.
I just read earlier about her passing away. How very sad. A beautiful woman with a beautiful voice
So tragic. So young. She lead such a troubled life yet had so much to live for. God rest her soul.
Gorgeous voice, so sad.
She will be missed badly...what a voice and so pretty. I loved her rendition of Dolly Parton's song "I will always love you"

That may be the definitive National Anthem performance. Her voice was a national treasure. Whitney's is a sad story and a cautionary tale.
Thanks for posting this link, Donna~ I had forgotten about what an amazing job she did on this until now!
RIP, Whitney...
