Franklin K. Lane, Secretary of the Interior, delivered a 1914 Flag Day address in which he repeated words he said the flag had spoken to him that morning: "I am what you make me; nothing more. I swing before your eyes as a bright gleam of color, a symbol of yourself."

Happy Flag day to you too!
Our city celebrated Flag Day last Sat., with a biggggg parade. So I'd forgotten that today is the real day.
:-)
Happy Flag day to you to Donna, we don't have a flag day here in Australia. We do have Australia Day in January where we celebrate all things Australia & being a proud Australian.
Take Care Donna & have a good W/E
Amen, sister! I LOVE our flag and wish more of our fellow Americans understood its importance.
Or, even cared enough to understand what we American's stand for. Okay, I'm done now. :)
I can't help but smile every time I see our flag because we live in the greatest country in the world!!!
Happy Flag Day to you and hope you have a great weekend!!!
That was a beautiful quote! Thanks for sharing the link, Miss Donna~ hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Belated happy Flag Day to you too Donna. I love those words - allowing each individual the freedom to interpret for themselves what the flag means, and isn't that what our liberty is all about? Great quote, thanks for that. My family has always had a flag pole, and the flag never gets wet or flies after dark, unlike some I see that never get taken in no matter what the conditions. I think Old Glory is beautiful. Happy weekend to you dear. {{{hugs}}}
i missed any activity in my town, I was out and about all day
