Happy Sconey Sunday!

Larry made scones AGAIN....That ground up yellow curly stuff in the top photo is butter....oh yeah.  When he's cooking, I'm constantly having to look in the kitchen to make sure it's not Paula Deen.  This is a Real Butter household, has been for years.  Margarine contains the same stuff plastic bottles are made of...and even though at times I feel like my smile has been "plastered" on (as in fake, plastic)  we do our best to go along with Mother Nature.  I'm sick and tired of the constant changes in opinion of all the Super Thinkers in Washington who think they know what's best for my family..."They" can never make up "their" minds on the safe qualities of an egg much less, butter!  I say, let them eat cake made with the plastic stuff...euwwww!  Hubby also has mastered the old trick...of which I taught him... :o],  to grate the butter instead of waiting an hour or so for it to soften.  Works grate (pun intended)!
We have done Nothing except work....boring, I know.  Hope you all have been having Much More Fun!  I'm going in for another coffee then I'll be hopping over to your worlds!
Happy Sunday!

Thanks for the tip! I guess I never thought to grate the butter instead of softening it! Hope you enjoyed the scones.

I made a batch of cheese scones this afternoon. A few minutes after taking it out of the fridge, our butter is soft enough to rub through. (Never less than 25 C here!) Yes we only use butter too. Thanks for your kind comment on my post about dear Honey who didn't make it after her operation. (((Hugs))) Jo

I wish we used butter all the time, but I get overruled! And grating it to soften it up? Why didn't I ever know this trick?

And don't get me started about the talking heads in Washington! I despise pretty much all of them these days.

Living in the Great White North, I have become fairly adept at nuking the butter just enough to soften it. However, with Danica here distracting me this morning, I did take it a little too far. :)

I haven't grated it but have always used butter. As a kid we called oleo , butter, not knowing much better.

What a grate idea! Here too we are an all-butter family. I believe in consuming real fats and plenty of them, and going very sparingly on the carbs. Which lets out scones, more's the pity. Wow those look scrumptious. xoxo to you from me dear friend

Oh my gosh, what a wonderful idea to grate the butter! At first I thought it was cheese. They look so yummy!

I am not a baker so I have no clue. LOL We are only a butter family here. I would love if Paula Dean would come and cook for me. Haha

Happy Sunday to you!

I'm also a butter lover. Why have I never thought to grate the butter. Brilliant

Ohhh yummy! We use real butter too. As real as we can find in the store. :)

Never had a scone, but that looks good. I too thought it was cheese. No, didn't know about the grating either! As for butter, sometimes but now you've convinced me a change is coming. :)

xoxo

Those look delicious, and I'm right there with you on real butter! Sometimes we get too far away from what nature has provided for us. A doctor told my son, who has a lot of weight to lose, to switch to whole milk. She said it was more satisfying and more nutritious, so he's giving it a try. He also went cold turkey off all soda! I'm trying to cut back on the Pepsi, but I do love an icy cold one!
