Well, it's time for another Personal Photo Challenge hosted by Donna of Cottage Days.

Both shots were taken at the World War II Museum in New Orleans. The first was an actual bunk bed used by some brave recruit. I added a texture and a little additional lens flare.
The second one, I left alone...The display was in a room all by itself...The impact of what America and her Allies were up against was horrifying! We were out numbered, plain and simple...but we had a tremendous weapon. We had God.....

OMG, these both give me chills because of the subject matter. Yes, I believe that God was on our side in WWII. And we paid such a heavy price with our men and women. My dad and Jim's dad played roles in that war and neither one of them wanted to talk about it!
I really like the starkness of the first photo and the texture makes it look like paper. Cool sepia tone too! And graphics in the second photo sure do bring the history home! Love that you included a profile silhouette too.

Love these photos! I'm a WWII buff and both my dad and my father-in-law served in the Army during the war. You can read about them on the 6/3/2012 post. Both photos are great, but I especially like the first one. It evokes quite a feeling in me, which is the ultimate goal of all photography, don't you think?
You did a fine job with the photos. And I wish God would have ended the war much sooner.
Both photos are thought provoking and I like the woman's silhouette in the second one.

Each photo tells a story; the first one (before and after you explained) put a lump in my throat. I can't explain exactly why, but I actually needed to be reminded of something today.

Your photos are excellent. I love the first one. There's just something about the light in it and the old bed and blanket. The second one startled me at first but the lighting is great and the silhouette really stands out. Beautifully done!
That must have been a moving visit. Very gripping photography.
Looks like a place to visit to learn more about history. It would be good for all school kids to go. Good photos for the challenge.
