Planting Time...

Remodeling

Well, I'm back again...I Heard That!.... It's flowers this time so stop fretting!  No sad news today, I promise.
Hubby and I got up early and headed to Lowes for paint chips and to look at tile for my bathroom.  It's getting a makeover for old people...yes, I said old people.  I'll be 64 this Summer and me and the tub are starting to fuss!  I can hike my leg up as well as any 40 year old to get into the tub but 23 inches and clearing stone is a little tricky.  That's a  Jacuzzi and I love it but what happens when I'm 70 or 80?  IF I make it that far.  Gotta' plan for being...old...older.  You're probably think "boy, what a wuss", but I'm tired of forgetting to hike and ending up with a skinned knee.  SO, hence, the remodel.  I'm even going in for a GRAB BAR!!Hahaaaa....don't worry though, I found a really pretty one.  Not the silver aluminum old people kind.  Also getting a hand held shower that slides on a rod...coolbeans!  Larry doesn't think the floor tile can be saved but we'll see.
It's been raining almost constantly...I love it.  I think I'd do great in Washington State....
Hope you're having a nice Saturday...Coming to check on you!

Love the roses and mandevilla; I looked yesterday but was afraid to buy any because of the dadgummed grasshoppers. I was looking for hangers to put on the fence for flowers, but they no longer carried them. So, I ordered some online, and just hope the hoppers won't be able to hop that high. One year when I was on a "manic high" I had about 15 pots of petunia's hanging on the fence. Of course, everyone but me thought that was funny.

The tub here has old people stuff. :)

Hope you don't lose the tile though, it's so pretty.

Enjoy your weekend, and show more pics after Larry is finished planting. :)

xoxo

I would love to do a bathroom remodel. I want just a shower no tub. When I get a little older I could put a seat in there....lol

The flower photos are lovely! Don't you just love the flowers? I do!! Just spent the day moving and planing perennials yesterday...talk about feeling OLD! I am feeling it today. Ugh.

You don't have to be old to have to fix the tub--any broken limb, surgery or injury will force you to make adjustments to your tub area. We love tubs, but they are just not easy to work with. We are saving for a remodel and I am definitely planning for such situations. Hope the remodel is better for ya!

Started planting some flowers yesterday..I'm pretty slow when it comes to planting stuff though! We stayed in a hotel room with a jacuzzi that was a little too high and wide to just step over. Had to sit and swing my legs in! Probably not a pretty sight but it sure felt good once I was in there! Have a great week my friend!

I so hear you re: the tub thing. I'm only 58 and the kids already think I need a walk-in, sit-down shower. It's me HIP! So I'm thrilled you're fixing it and I too would want a "pretty" grab bar. I love rain but I know that weeks of it can be draining, no pun intended. Praying sunshine for you, my friend. xoxo Oh and thanks for your prayers for my Andrew. I can't believe he's going, but from June 7 to October 6, he will be in Afghanistan. Then back to the USA to enter pilot school. I don't see enough of him but at least we will have his dog, our beloved Rambo! Watch for photos!

Beautiful flowers...love the rain drops on them (though I know that has been more of a curse than a blessing!) I know what you mean about the bathroom. I stepped in to my tub one day and the sticker that is supposed to keep you from falling was not secure, plus my grandson had used some slick body wash. I slid with that leg, causing the other leg to strain against the metal tub door frame, and I had a mark on that leg for five months! It's difficult when I step out...I have to steady myself by holding on to the top of the glass door. And I can't take a bath anymore. Can't get out of the tub without rolling over onto my knees to do it. Very uncomfortable. However, there is another shower in our bedroom that you just walk into and I have a seat in there for my hubby to sit while he showers. Eventually that will be mine too, but for as long as I can, I like having my own shower (which I have to share with infrequent guests). That bathroom is lavender and pink, and all my STUFF is in there. Hanging on....:-)

I don't know how I missed this post, but I did. Well, better late than never! Your flowers are looking splendid. I see that Libby is offering supervisory assistance too. You are very wise to go ahead with that remodel project. Yikes, I would hate to have to negotiate that obstacle every morning! Where is the pole for vaulting yourself in? I adore my walk-in shower. It has a 1 inch lip. I can manage that most days, though I have been known to stub my toe on it now and then. Ha! And I have a separate tub in the bathroom, but it has never been used. It is merely there for resale.
