A New Year...2017

Well it's a New Year...2017...What happened to 1969???  1972???  I remember my Dad trying to tell me to appreciate each and every day...month..year.  I try but it all seems to be flying by me!  Oh well, guess that's the true meaning of "life goes on..."
We had a nice Christmas and New Years.  The kiddos came visiting which is always a sweet time.  We surely miss them.  The kids and grankids staying with us, laughter and love all around but then they leave to head back to their respective "stays there" places...Hahaa...WHAT?  Well?!  This is Home...always has been and always will be!  Larry and I are still trying to adapt to being childless and pretty much alone where we live.  Friends all live out of town and in-laws aren't the visiting kind.  My sister is also aloof so...basically, it's just us.  Our granddaughter Samantha lives about twenty miles from us and does visit sometimes but with the boyfriend and her work, those times have slowed down to a crawl.  It's natural...and we're happy and proud of her.
We laugh and say all the time maybe we should move too but Larry's parents are still living so...here we stay.
Hope you all enjoyed the holidays!  And hoping you got everything you wished for...

A Happy New Year to you! Sounds like a very nice Christmas, even with all the changes and family far off. I pretty much missed the entire Christmas season at my home and it carried over to my blogging life. I just want to get past this cold, snowy winter and see some spring flowers! I'll try to "visit" you more often here!
Hugs to you! :)

Luckily, 2 of our 3 children and their families, live here in town. One son, right next door to us. But that doesn't mean they are popping all the time. Nor do we pop in on them.

Relocating or not, an issue for "empty nest time." Hope you figure out what is the very best, for you.

Wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year of 2017,
Luna Crone

I have a feeling you won't sell your home but when you can retire there will be a lot of trips in the new rv. Sorry to hear about your sister yet hoping that will be

my nest is empty and i am an empty nest lover. it's funny how you referred to where they live now as "stays there" - i always say "where you live now" but i never refer to their current location as home. this, here, where you grew up will always be home!!

i am lucky to have lots of family close by, at least i think i'm lucky. i have many nieces and nephews and great nieces to spend time with and when i am tired, they go home, to their home!!

See, I love the excitement of everyone being underfoot but I'm always ready for a break when they leave. I know they'll be back. There's never time to miss anyone! I know I'm fortunate. xoxo

It is pretty much just us two here Donna! I do not handle visitors well so it works for me. The kids all gave their own lives although my daughter and I are seeing much more of each other now that her divorce is final....long story.😢
