You Never Know Until You Try...

Truer words never spoken...
You never know what you're capable of, if you never try.
If you'll remember, in my last post, I said I was going to try to make the little sock cupcakes... Well, I tried...and think I did a reasonable job of it. Check out my last post to see what I'm referring to...

After I had accomplished the feat, I packaged up the cute clothes and handed them all to my granddaughter, Samantha.  I also dug around until I found the baby clothes, I had saved from years ago, that belonged to her and her Mom, my daughter, Crystal.

My daughter, Crystal...Grandmother-to-Be

                        Samantha's christening dress 1998

Then I baked some Triple Chocolate Brownies... Very moist...heavy but very good.

Oh!  I'm reminded...You know those serving dishes, like this one, that don't come with a cover?  You usually place cookies or a pie or a small cake on them?  Well, I didn't want to put the brownies away in a snap lid container so I grabbed a bowl and turned it upside down...covering the brownies!  This is a bowl from a Tupperware set...It fit perfectly!  You're welcome!! 👀🙇

So...That's about it for me, these last several days.  Haven't felt as spunky as I usually do.  I have a friend I'm terribly worried about...We stay in contact but I haven't heard from them in almost a week.  All I can do about it, is wait...and pray.

did manage to get out my paints to help out my hubby with a project he's working on.  Hope to get it completed soon.
In the meantime, hope you all have a sweet weekend.  Until next time... be happy.

Slow Going...

I really haven't been up too much since the Big Reveal...some baking I suppose.  Gas prices are going out of sight, so we don't go many places, maybe Lowes or the grocery store.  I've started picking up small items for Baby Sloane.  Creams, powder, nighties, etc.  I haven't priced disposable diapers in... let's see...21 or 22 years?!  And the price is unbelievable!  I'll be looking for some cloth diapers and pins...just like I had to use in "the old days"...lol.  Samantha might be glad she has them if she runs out of the disposable ones.

Isn't this cute?  I'll be trying it out soon.  Looks just like a cupcake!  Adorable...

I made a Carrot Cake... Larry's fussy about cream cheese frosting but I added it to my cake anyway.  What's a Carrot Cake without cream cheese frosting?  He ended up loving it...after he scraped some of it off...lolol

Larry didn't want to be outdone in the kitchen, so he grilled pork ribs and made baby limas.
First time he'd ever added green                      beans to them... It won't be happening again... not good.  All you could taste were the green beans and not the limas.
Storms blew through last night...did a lot of damage here in Texas but God was good to our families.  No damage...
Well, I suppose I'll end things here...it's just been a slow week, or so...Coming by to check on you.
Be safe out there!

Gender Reveal...2022

Good morning!  We had the Gender Reveal party on March 6th!  What else can I say except...It's a GIRL!! Lolol...

We all only want a happy world for our Baby Girl Sloane...yes, this is what they're naming her...Sloane Avery Parker.👀  Ok, I think you could use the name for a boy or a girl so...we'll just have to get use to it...What's wrong with Lemon, I ask???😄

The main thing is for her to be healthy!  We really are excited to see our new greatgranbaby.  And as you can tell...Sami and Everett were a little excited, as well!Lolol  And yes, this is Texas!!  We use guns in all our announcements...😁

Well...maybe not all but mostly. Lol

Have a sweet and safe day friends!  Don't forget to Spring Forward tonight!!

The cake Samantha requested...my first time working with chocolate.

                                      A lemon curd cake...

Giant chocolate chip cookies...another Sami         request.

Sami, believing she's helping hold up balloons... 😏

Soon to be Grandmother, our daughter, Crystal...she's practicing.

Our grandson William on leave from the Air Force...his two half sisters, Ruby and Ema...and his sister, Samantha.
Everett's beginning to take aim at the Reveal target 100 yards away... He's a crack shot...got it with the first round!

Our William and his step Dad Tim, (but he was basically raised by him and considers him his real Dad💙)

                                             IT'S A GIRL!!! 💗

SO EXCITED!!!  That reaction made a few tears roll!!

                                            Miss Sloane...💓

They're going to be great parents!

                                     Delayed reaction!

Another Week's Happenings...

Hello again!  Just dropping in to say hello.  I don't want you to start thinking I've returned to my cave, and it would be years before I popped back on to post!

I've tried to keep busy...some days have been better than others, but you have to make that effort...give yourself that mental push. So, this has been my week...

I made Chocolate Chip Brownie Bars...Next time I'll add cream cheese.

We went to Spice Alley to look at all the different shops.  My preference were the baby items...'gotta be prepared!

Crystal being good at the all-girl luncheon...

Crystal having her locks pampered by                                     Samantha...

Enough cake samples for the girls...

                 Chocolate decorations for the frosting...

I made a practice cake for Samantha's and hubby, Everett's Gender Reveal Party this Sunday.  I was elected to bring the cake.  Everything tasted really good...Sam and my daughter, Crystal, were the taste testers.  There were plenty of, "ohYummms", being sounded so I'm feeling confident.

We rode out to SpaceX, McGregor Tx facility just because we were bored.  You can't get onto the grounds without a permit...and neither Larry or myself are rocket scientist...so, no entry.

I made Scottish Cinnamon Scones...

Our granddaughter Samantha...
Have a great week...I'll be dropping in to check on you!
