Top of the morning to you, friends...It's St Patrick's Day and I'm behind in blogging and visiting, again! This past week was not a good one. So sick this week! Leaving out details (in case you're having your morning toast) it was pretty rough. Since the release of Covid, there's been all sorts of strange, mutated viruses dancing around our planet. I was violently ill early Monday morning around 3am...it lasted maybe 30 minutes...then I ached all over...had fever for the day...ending with a headache for about three days...then by Friday, poof! Gone! Super strange! I'm fine now...with a little weakness but generally, okay.
Ann sent a super cute, handmade card! I love getting "real" mail! Larry came in with it saying, "I'll bet it's a card..."...lolol...anyway, she can do pretty much anything she sets her mind to...I love her.
Saturday morning came and feeling chipper, I took a ride down to visit our daughter, Crystal...who had come up to keep Sloane for Samantha and Everett. Sam had a wedding to work and Crystal visits as often as she can to keep the baby. They live in the country and after all the rain, the fields were beautiful.
Sloane loves gumbo...lol...first time eating it and couldn't get enough.
Saturday's breakfast...hashbrowns, toast and two, easy-over...mine are a little cracked...lolol
Lunch...roast, mashed potatoes and green beans...
Ever hopeful something hits the floor...and yes, sometimes...it does.
I had to get a gift for a new mother and baby boy...a busy shop had just what I needed.
Crystal had flown to Arkansas to meet up with her son and our granbaby, William (Air Force). They went shopping for Will, a new set of recliners. He and his girlfriend, Alyssa, broke up...and she took her sofa. They'd been together three years so it wasn't a happy weekend.... just sad...but he'll be alright. Such a gentle soul.
Meanwhile, his sister...
Samantha (left) and friend began a side business for weddings. They both have full-time positions as stylist but are doing weddings on the side. Hair and make-up. So busy! They're doing great.
Another of Larry's wood projects...You can change out the months to years...the name...grades...by turning the dial...ingenious.
Me? I finally got back to my quilt. I've gotten about a third of it quilted...straight line, stitch-in-the-ditch. It's big enough to be hard on the shoulders...pushing, pulling...tugging it through the machine. No hand quilting for me! lol

I am glad you are feeling better...yes, strange things are going around. That chair your grandson is sitting in looks so comfy. Oh, and the photo of Samantha, so lovely and I have to carry a see thru bag for work. Sloan is always lovely to see, smiles.

So good, that you are okay again, dear Donna! Also here in Europe people tell about different virus.. May you and your pretious family stay healthy! Sloane is growing up! She looks very sweet! It's always a pity, when friends don't walk any longer together their way through their lifes. Larry makes good handwork and you, too! I love both! Your meadows are nice in yellow and green colors. Congratulations to Samantha making a good job with joy and with lovely good support!

I'm sorry you were so sick, Donna. Glad you are feeling better. That recliner is very cool, have never seen one like that before. The roast, mashed potatoes, and green beans look delicious. There's nothing like a good pot roast. And you know, fried eggs and toast is my favorite breakfast. How funny that Sloane loves gumbo. My son cooks jambalaya from time to time. That's wonderful that Samantha started a side business for weddings. I hope she does well with it. And your quilt is coming along nicely. Keep plugging away at it - what a treasure it will be.

The quilt is looking very nice, love it.
Bummer about being so sick! I'm glad that it didn't last too long. You are a trooper with the quilt. That is hard work, isn't it? I prefer hand-quilting because you can work on one small section at a time and I don't like "machine wrestling" with the larger quilts. My new machine has a longer neck, so I will try quilting a baby quilt or throw. It's got all sorts of things to make machine quilting easier...we will see. Meanwhile, I send them out now.

Hi Donna, sweet St Patrick's Day picture. No worries on getting behind in visiting, that’s my mantra lately! Sorry that you’ve been sick. Sounds like you had quite a time of it and happy to know it’s gone now. I loved getting Ann’s card. I am looking at mine on the shelf right now. It is so very pretty, and I love her for her kindness in sending them out. That is such a pretty scene across the field. Wonderful you got to see Sloane with your daughter. Not surprised she loves your gumbo. All the food pictures you share look incredibly yummy, and those cute dogs think so too. That’s sad about your grandson and his girlfriend. The right one will come along one of these days. He’s a handsome young man and his sister is beautiful. I wish them all nothing but the best in their adventures. Oh girl I am so sorry to hear about your strange illness! A virus no doubt! I was so sick at Christmastime, I thought I would DIE. In fact I would have had to feel better in order to die. How merciful that it only lasted the better part of the week and that you're back at full bore! Got to get that quilt done, hahaha! You are intrepid with that sewing machine!
