Tissue...Quiche', Our Babies and Aunt Jemima

Well, we haven't been doing much this week...mainly hanging out around the house watching the news and cooking.  Made a batch of cookies...ate them...lolol... not so good for the waistline.

I found a cute idea on YouTube!  I usually have toilet paper rolls sitting out for convenience's sake.  Well!  You can either use colorful napkins or a piece of colored tissue wrapping paper to roll the toilet paper in.  Cut the paper large enough to totally cover the roll...It's so simple but the color combinations are endless.  Just depends on what you like!

You can really get creative!  And it's better than just the plain old tiresome white roll.

Made air fryer chicken with corn, bell pepper and hash brown potatoes.  Turned out really good.

Also made a quiche for breakfast...cheesy!

Also got to meet our girls for a Dairy Queen hot fudge sundae... and a quick visit.  They had been in town most of the day and were a bit tired.  Sloane was in full throttle...lol... sweet baby girl.  Nothing like seeing the babies for a perk-up...this getting old sucks.  There was an elderly man sitting by himself in the next booth from us...and was loving Sloane and her antics.  We apologized for the disruptions, but he told Crystal not to worry...that he enjoyed it.  I think about him often and hope he has someone he can depend on.

Oh my goodness, this was good!  Fried porkchops with gravy and a sweet potato.

Have you heard this??  I am so in favor of her photo being put back on the products!  She worked her butt off to get where she got in life and for those PC Police in Washington, to take that from her memory, was disgraceful!  She is a family icon!  I hope this is true...

Haven't tried this recipe yet but probably will sometime this weekend.  Looks good!

Well, that's about it for me...Hope you all are doing great and have found something wonderful to smile about.
So... until next time...

Cheese...Recipes, Tissues and Diffuser

Good morning!  Well, Larry and I are feeling so much better.  Coughs are mostly, gone.  It's going to be a busy week.  We are about to have our share of bad weather starting Tuesday.  Low temps and maybe some snow?  Maybe not...hope not...I don't care for snow very much because it mostly turns to nasty ice once it melts and refreezes overnight.

We went to the grocery store the other day and among other things on my list, was Mascarpone cheese.  I always buy it because sometimes, I like it on my buttered toast.  Not really paying attention once I looked up, I grabbed the carton that looked just like my usual cheese.  We get home and unpack everything and go about our day.  This morning, I make buttered toast...pull the cheese carton from the refrigerator, pull off the lid when I notice the color of the cheese is dark!  My usual is white!  Looking quickly at the label...It says chocolate...ohhhmyyygoodness.  Heavenly!  Creamy!  And only 4carbs!  It's so Good!

Found a recipe on YT for Carnivore Loaded Chicken Salad...SO GOOD!  NO Carbs!

1 Can chicken meat
1 scoop sour cream
1 scoop mayonnaise
I used Garlic seasoning
Dill pickle relish
chopped egg
grated cheese of your choice

Eat with pork rinds
Will make about 3 day's worth.  Add anything you want but if you want to keep it locarb...no dried fruits.
Enjoy...

I also made fried chicken nuggets.  Again, 1 can of chicken meat, drained well.  Seasonings...grated mozzarella cheese and 1 egg.  Mix all together and either air fry or fry in a fry pan...which is what I did.  They are really good!  And lo/no/carb.
You can make up a dip... Catsup...mayo and mustard...or use ranch dressing.

Turn them upside down...a small hole at the top, large hole at the bottom.

Then...I saw a cute idea for your tissues...Get a ceiling fan globe...preferably, a large bulby body like the two, above...  You could even use a hall light cover as long as it has an opening top and bottom...large enough to shove part of a small box of tissues into it from the bottom.  This one doesn't hold much...I'll go thrifting to try to find a better one.  I'm not thrilled with the one I made...

Took a photo of the moon...weird ring around it...probably dust?

I made a meatloaf with mashed potatoes...

French onion soup...the fancy kind...

Have to have photos of our Great-Gran Sloane!

I ordered an Aroma Diffuser...from Amazon.  Love it!  Makes a great little room humidifier and when you add your 100% essential oils...wonderful.  I ordered new oils, but they won't be here until Thursday.  I love Lavender, Lemon, Rosemary and vanilla together!    Smells like those big fancy stores...Right now, I'm just using water for the moisture.

Well...I suppose that's all from me...Hope you all are happy, safe and warm or cool, whatever the case may be.  So, until next time...

Flu...Fires, and Food

Good morning, friends...oh my goodness!  It's been a long while since I've been able to post.  Larry and I both have had a good case of the flu.  I took a covid test but, it was negative.  I think that was a good thing though... Started out with a headache and really lethargic...then, waking up with a sore throat...some low-grade fever and then finally, a cough.  Averaged being sick...about two weeks.  We both are now better but with a lingering cough.  But nothing like it was.  I think we're going to make it.

Praying for those poor people in California!  Texas is helping as are other states and I believe Canada is, as well... I hope those Angels can put those fires out soon!  16 are now dead...heartbreaking!!  I also pray that there's a thorough investigation into where all the funds have gone to and why!  DEI before funding the Fire Departments and Police???  I don't think so...
190,000 people displaced now, and that number is steadily growing.
God help them...

I hope this is true!

We went out to eat breakfast sometime before we became ill.  The price was really reasonable, as you can see in the next photo.

I had made a 10" hot pad...was cruising along crocheting the edges...the last row simply slipped off the loom...and I tried everything to get the loops back on to the frame!!!  So, I hooked together what I could and will worry about redoing it later...I was heartsick!  So much work!  Larry gave me a good idea though...I'll try looping a rubber band onto the ends so it can't pull off the frame.  We'll see if it works...soon...I'm not ready to pull it all out yet...sigh.

Someone explain how this is fair.  This is a photo of some women from the 1970's... then now.  I know our bodies are preparing for "the final event" but...lol
I'm still fighting it...although, since I've been ill, I put back on at least 5 pounds!  Need to get back to my walking!

And what's a post without Sloane?  Her cousin Arlis is all boy! lol

Well, I made this one a little shorter.  I've got things to catch up on and sitting in front of the computer won't get it done.
Praying you all are well and safe!  So, until next time...
