Good morning! Well, Larry and I are feeling so much better. Coughs are mostly, gone. It's going to be a busy week. We are about to have our share of bad weather starting Tuesday. Low temps and maybe some snow? Maybe not...hope not...I don't care for snow very much because it mostly turns to nasty ice once it melts and refreezes overnight.
We went to the grocery store the other day and among other things on my list, was Mascarpone cheese. I always buy it because sometimes, I like it on my buttered toast. Not really paying attention once I looked up, I grabbed the carton that looked just like my usual cheese. We get home and unpack everything and go about our day. This morning, I make buttered toast...pull the cheese carton from the refrigerator, pull off the lid when I notice the color of the cheese is dark! My usual is white! Looking quickly at the label...It says chocolate...ohhhmyyygoodness. Heavenly! Creamy! And only 4carbs! It's so Good!
Found a recipe on YT for Carnivore Loaded Chicken Salad...SO GOOD! NO Carbs!
1 Can chicken meat
1 scoop sour cream
1 scoop mayonnaise
I used Garlic seasoning
Dill pickle relish
chopped egg
grated cheese of your choice
Eat with pork rinds
Will make about 3 day's worth. Add anything you want but if you want to keep it locarb...no dried fruits.
Enjoy...
I also made fried chicken nuggets. Again, 1 can of chicken meat, drained well. Seasonings...grated mozzarella cheese and 1 egg. Mix all together and either air fry or fry in a fry pan...which is what I did. They are really good! And lo/no/carb.
You can make up a dip... Catsup...mayo and mustard...or use ranch dressing.
Then...I saw a cute idea for your tissues...Get a ceiling fan globe...preferably, a large bulby body like the two, above... You could even use a hall light cover as long as it has an opening top and bottom...large enough to shove part of a small box of tissues into it from the bottom. This one doesn't hold much...I'll go thrifting to try to find a better one. I'm not thrilled with the one I made...
Took a photo of the moon...weird ring around it...probably dust?
I made a meatloaf with mashed potatoes...
French onion soup...the fancy kind...
Have to have photos of our Great-Gran Sloane!
I ordered an Aroma Diffuser...from Amazon. Love it! Makes a great little room humidifier and when you add your 100% essential oils...wonderful. I ordered new oils, but they won't be here until Thursday. I love Lavender, Lemon, Rosemary and vanilla together! Smells like those big fancy stores...Right now, I'm just using water for the moisture.
Well...I suppose that's all from me...Hope you all are happy, safe and warm or cool, whatever the case may be. So, until next time...

Yum on the food photos, grin. My husband put cut up garlic parm chicken breast in the air fryer last night (similar to you photo) and it was so good. Seeing photos of Sloan always makes me smile. I am glad y'all are feeling better. Wishing you a lovely day.
Glad you are both feeling better. Sloane is so cute. Your chicken recipes look delicious but my husband doesn't like chicken, unfortunately.
Hi Donna! Your food photos always look so good! Those friday chicken nuggets made my mouth water. I am glad that you and Larry are starting to feel better. Hope you have a good week. I am sure you will be watching the inauguration tomorrow. I am optimistic and hopeful about the future. Have a good week. See you again soon!
Well...it is 11:25 here and this photos of all this food has my tummy growling. It all looks so good. What a pleasant mistake you have there in grabbing the wrong cheese. I'm guessing my might be grabbing it again. LOL. that little Sloane is the cutest and very photogenic. So glad you and Larry are feeling much better, and hoping your cough doesn't linger. Y'all stay warm and cozy..we have cold weather here this morning and possibility of snow tomorrow...
It's good to see a post from you. I'm glad you two are feeling better.
Your food looks so good.
It's snowing here and very cold, but getting colder - supposed to be below 0 tomorrow. Brrrr!
Sloane is adorable as ever. I love the one with the Big Sis shirt.
I'm glad you're feeling a little better. The food on here looks wonderfully good. I especially liked the French onion soup, as we make it that way also baked with the melted cheese. The chicken salad looks Yummy too. I've never heard of mascarpone cheese on toast before, we'll have to check it out at the store. That's a creative lamp shade idea for the tissues. Sloane's going to be a dear sister, and I love that sweater she's wearing. And the moon is so intriguing. Always love the Pink roses on your blog, Donna.

So glad you have finally turned the sicky corner..This stuff sure hangs on and on.
I love all the photos of your sweet Sloane. She's really growing up into a beautiful young girl.
Yumm everything you cook and bake looks delicious. I haven't been very creative on my meals. Lazy and just kind of sliding into the doldrums. Working hard to not go that direction.

Happy to see you pop up today and to hear you are feeling better. everything looks delish, that red bow on Sloan is adorable, and i looked to the left and saw her parents, no wonder she is so cute, a beautiful family. welcome back and hope you are feeling 100 percent soon and that you get no snow or ice
Glad to see that normal life is returning, hope you are both fully recovered, enjoying good food and precious time with your family. I won’t tell the Italians you had chocolate mascarpone, they get cross with me for adding wine to my pasta sauce.

Thanks for the no carb ideas! Be careful using the oils in the diffuser somethings make breathing more difficult for some people. My husband would not be able to take the smell.
Pleased you are feeling much improved.
The food looks good as does Sloane, sweet thing.
I like your humidifier, looks a nice one.
Glad you are feeling so much better after you had those nasty coughs. Hope the weather isn't too bad for you this week. I will be thinking of you and sending warm hugs. Your chicken recipes and meatloaf are making me hungry. They look delicious.

Glad you feel better. Nice picture of Sloane. I would like to have canned chicken, but we don’t have here. Enjoy your cooking!
Donna, thank you for the low carb recipes! They look amazing...as do your other food pictures. Love the pictures of Sloane. Stay warm. We have about a foot and a half of snow right now and our high today is 12, which it is currently.
Donna - all your dishes look delicious. I have a recipe for chicken salad with cranberries. Think I will making some of that soon. With the cold weather it seems like it is a good time to make some warm and comforting foods. Well hope you don't get the snow but if you do - stay safe. Hugs!
I'm glad you're both feeling better! And oh my, chocolate flavoured mascarpone sounds just heavenly - will have to see if I can find it here!

Good to know that you're feeling much better.
Once again Sloane steals the show. That girl is so cute ( and the outfits too).
Very nice on the chocolate treat on toast. Very, very fun. Love how you're playing with foods and finding what works for you guys. That is the most fun of it for sure. Cheers and boogie boogie.
Glad you are both feeling better! Whew! Did I know that Sloane was going to be a big sister??? I can't remember! She is such a doll! Happy New Year to you and yours!
So pleased you are both feeling better, it's never nice when you're not well. Take care and get all your energy and strength back.

So glad you are feeling much better Donna, that is good news. Sloane is a sweetheart, lovely photos. It will be exciting when she gets her big sister to look after. Yummy food! Great idea for the tissues and that moon is really something. Have a great rest of the week and sending hugs.
Ice is the worst, innit?
I love French Onion Soup:)
Wow my friend, thank you for these wonderful low-carb ideas! I love carnivore but it takes some creativity to keep it from getting boring. I love the idea of the chicken nuggets and I'll be trying that for sure. And the light-globe tissue dispenser is so original too! Sorry I've been set aside for a while but I'm also sorry to learn that you and Larry have been sick. I'll keep reading to get to the bottom of that. Sloaney-girl is so adorable and grown-up! xoxo
Good morning! I’m so glad to hear that you and Larry are feeling better—what a relief! As for the weather, I can completely understand your hesitation about snow. It can be pretty at first, but then the ice is such a nuisance.
Your chocolate cheese surprise sounds like a delightful mix-up! It’s always fun when accidents turn into something unexpectedly delicious. I bet that creamy treat on your toast was a lovely start to your day. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead—stay cosy and enjoy that new find!
Glad to hear that you’re feeling better. Your food looks really good. I didn’t do much cooking this past week. Sometimes I feel like it, sometimes I don’t, and lately I really haven’t.
