Good morning, Friends...Hope this finds you all happy, safe and well! It's was just another week filled with the mundane (a Good thing) dealings of life. Our refrigerator refused to make ice...I tried everything I know to make it change it's mind! Nothing worked...then Larry gave it a go...nothing, once again. He said it's silly to spend $$$$ on a repairman these days on a 15 year old refrigerator that may or may not have a few more years in it...so we went shopping. Bought a less fancy brand called HiSense. Never heard of it! Lowes rep said it's new so they don't have much data on it yet. $1618.39 with an added 5yr warranty added to the price. They don't last like they used to.
We get home...I go to check on the ice maker in the old unit...and there's ice...staring at me...well...fudge!
Told Larry...we just looked at each other for a long half second then he says...we're still buying the new one. Okay then but I tried to reason with him. $500/700 repairman, parts & labor...no telling what breaks next...or, just buy the new one with warranty.
We bought the new one. Lowes installed it the very next day! What a race to clean out the old one! I was totally out of freezer space! But the job got done.
Everett, Samantha and Sloane at Easter.
Sloanes finger is healing nicely but she's also being very careful with it.
Our little Miss Sydney... from Tylar and Sara in Hungary (AF). Ty has put in for a base in Arkansas and it is on his "wish list"...and ours! Say a prayer, will you?! They are coming home to the States soon...yea!!
Love my Baby Lock embroidery machine! Starting to learn!
Pasta dish Larry made...it was really good!
Breakfast this morning... I cook the sausages in my airfryer...no time at all! And they brown all over instead of the two sides.

Purchasing appliances is not where we want to spend our $. Those sausages look yummy btw.
I find that it is so difficult these days to purchase appliances or TV's. We shopped for a TV last evening and there are way too many different types with all these weird numbers. Who can you trust to tell you the truth on what is the best purchase for your money..Glad you got that new Ref. Your family pictures are adorable...glad you posted them. My MIL (who passed) left me a NEW serger, but I have no clue how to use the thing. I don't sew. Hope you all have sunshine this weekend.
What will you use to clean the outside of the new fridge? Mine has streaks no matter what I use. Wow you are doing some very pretty embroidery!
Appliances are no fun to shop for, and you're right, they just don't last long. The new one looks nice.
I see the comment asking about cleaning it. I did a post recently about Sprayway stainless steel cleaner. It cleans my fridge and dishwasher with no streaks. You can get it on Amazon.
Glad Sloane is healing up!
Praying your grandson can get back to the states soon.
I shudder to think about our appliances bitting the dust. Nothing lasts like it used to. Glad you got a new one and hope it will work for years to come.
Happy to know that Sloane's finger is healing well..poor baby it looked so painful.
Here's hoping that that transfer will come through and your grandson can bring that family and precious baby back to the states.
Hugs for a great weekend... embroider away ...
Sue
I like your embroidery so fun! I have the same fridge, a lot of space in it. Glad your grandson can go back home with his nice baby. Hope Sloane is feeling better better.
Looks like a nice roomy fridge.
Isn't that just typical that the refrigerator would start making ice after you bought a new one. I'm cheap so I would have just used ice cube trays to make ice. Actually that's what I do now because my ancient fridge doesn't make ice.
The new fridge looks good and that brand is here in Australia too.
The family photo is wonderful, and food does look good too.
Take care.
Your food photos always make me smile as do your family photos. Wishing you a beautiful day, smiles.
The new fridge looks impressive!! I imagine all the embroidering you'll do with your new machine. I once got a woman to embroider between the button holes on my fav. denim shirt. I thought it looked so pretty.
How crazy on your refrigerator not making ice and then starting again. Looks like you made a good choice in the end though. Hope you had a wonderful Easter and also hope Sloane's finger heals. Janice
I hope you will enjoy your new fridge. Ours is 30 years old and I dread the day it quits working.
My washing machine has been making a lot of noise for close to a year now so the last time we were in Menards I suggested that we go ahead and look at the washers when I wasn't pressured to pick out one. So I did decide on the model I want when this one dies. Do you know that the washing machine has not made that noise one time since I decided on what I want to replace it with. I guess it felt threatened. lol
White goods are made to last five years only so that they make more sales.
I think buying a new fridge was the best decision! Mind you, I don't think the new one will last for 15 years. Things are just not made to last anymore, aren't they? We had a similar thing happen with our washing machine.
Glad to hear that Sloane's finger is healing nicely. Phew!
That embroidered butterfly is utterly gorgeous! xxx
What brand/model/size air fryer do you use? My Westbend(< 6 months old) just broke. The kids are devastated. Your meals always look so delicious.
Enjoy your new fridge, it does look good.
Pleased that Sloane's finger is healing nicely ... good news.
Sending good wishes to you.
All the best Jan
I had to buy a new fridge, but my last one lasted over 20 years. The prices sure are so high!
That quilt is just darling, Donna. I had to catch up on missed posts. I don’t have a serger, but I do have a sewing/embroidery machine. Your sewing room looks great.
Poor little Sloane and her injury!
Have a great week!
A new refrigerator! That's always nice. I have a stainless steel one as well. I think they look nice in the kitchen. A sweet picture of Samantha and family. And I'm glad that Sloane's finger is healing. Saying a prayer for your family to return home to the states. Welcome to the world, little Sydney. Larry's pasta dish looks delicious, and the sausage and eggs and the chicken legs, oh my, those look really good too. Love that picture at the end....everything Pink!
Have a good week ahead, Donna.

I can imagine the dilemma regarding buying the new refrigerator. My first one lasted 25 years...the next 13 and this one is 8 years old. It has never been the best but it still keeps working...the milk freezes at the back of the refrigerator - which means the milk lasts much longer past the expiration date :)!! Ah Sloane and Sydney are cuties. Prayers will be sent up that your family can move back home to the states. Please take care and have a wonderful week. Hugs!
Nice looking new fridge, hopefully it will last many years. Glad Sloane's finger is healing good. Have a great new week.
Praying that Sydney will be able to get back home to the States with her mommy and daddy very soon. Cute photo of Sloane and her mommy and daddy and baby bump. Glad Sloane's finger is healing well.
Your new freezer looks great and I hope it lasts a lot longer than 5 years and makes lots of ice when you want want/need it.
Love the embroidery machine. Have lots of fun using it.
You are very talented in testing new machines! The butterfly is so nice and the freezer has a lot of space for best things to eat. Sweet Sloane an her parents and little baby are my favorites as always! Best wishes or the healing of Sloanes finger! Hope all your beloved from far away soon will be on a good and fine place near you. Prayers - blessings - good luck ::::::: Dori from the Bavarian Forest
Hi Donna. It's always good to see what you've been up to. I think the new stainless fridge looks great. I'm with you - I would get a new one rather than repair the old one. You are right - appliances are not made with the quality they used to be. I think you were smart to get the warranty. Little Sydney is precious. I hope her family moves to Arkansas so you can see her more. So glad that Sloane's finger is healing. I love the cute shirt you made with that Baby-Lock Embroidery machine. I hope that you and yours have a great week. See you again soon!
The sausages look delicious. I don't have an air fryer but now I may get one.
Ugh I'm still trying to get over the trauma of being forced to buy a new fridge about eight years ago. I say "about eight" because I had to ask Erica how long ago it was and that's what she said, but I really can't hook that experience in time with any accuracy, hahaha! All I know is, knock on wood, the OLD OLD (23 years) fridge in the garage had better not die because we use every inch of it as overflow space after the side-by-side went out and the French doors came in! Just so much smaller! As for ice maker, the one in my French door bottom drawer freezer went on the fritz last week. TG and I fussed and fumed and I poked at the slats looking for jammed ice but the truth was, there was no water coming in! So we replaced the filter and voilá, the sound of falling ice is once more heard in our land! Hahahaha fingers crossed for many more fridge years! xoxo
We have thought about a new frig but it is not easy for us as our frig slids into a cabinet. Need just the right size.
Your grand babies are darling.
I hope they get transfered where they would like.
Cathy
Enjoy the new refridge. You have all kinds of sewing toys:)
Hugs
Another interesting post
That wabbit is so cute, as are the kiddos:)
