Good morning Friends... Hope you all have had a good week.
It's been a sad yet happy week for us. I was called by our friend's daughter to come and sit with our next-door neighbor and friend, Ramage. We've known him and my best friend and wife, Gwen, (gone almost 3 years now) for almost 50 years. Anyway, the room was quiet...Ramage was unconscious...and on morphine. The television was playing Gunsmoke...his favorite show. I was watching his labored breathing...and it seemed to get more and more laborious. Still watching...it slowly just stopped. Nothing. I got up to feel for a pulse...there was none. He was gone. I had just been asking Gweny, his wife in Heaven, to just come and get him! It was horrible to have to watch him suffer...he didn't deserve this... She must have heard me because about 10 seconds later, he was gone.
God is SO good... There is life on the other side...Our family and friends DO hear us when we talk to them...I've had so many experiences over the years that I never doubt what is right in front of me, and I thank God for the privilege.
Just have faith...
Moving on to more earthly...news, we finally replaced our side fencing. It was getting bad, and it was just time.
I found a great little meat market and bought a couple of ribeye's...uggg...I just closed my eyes and paid the man. They were huge and marbled. Delicious! Tender! If steaks aren't marbled with some fat, throw them back! That's where you get the tenderness.
Larry and I both have started the Carnivore way of eating, this past Thursday...the 17th. I'm already down 4 pounds! I'll take it. It's a slow but steady loss. I think 4 pounds in a week is great. I'm trying to lose 20 lbs... we'll see how it goes.
If you're curious about the diet, there's tons of videos on YouTube.
Larry and I are on the way to pick up my 221-1 Featherweight Singer sewing machine from the repairman, Mr Denmark. It's been almost 3 months!
And $174 later...hopefully, it works great! This is the before photo...crossing my fingers and toes!
Then we head South 32 miles to my favorite fabric shop in Rosebud, Texas. I need specialty blue and pink. fabric.
SO!
Have a wonderful weekend! Until next time...

Donna am sad for the loss of your friend but happy he is now in heaven with the Lord and his dear beloved wife. Yes, I believe with all of my being that the next life is going to be so wonderful that we will never miss this one. Our God is so good. Hope your sewing machine works like a dream when you get it back. Your steaks looked wonderful. Just before I read your blog, was discussing with friends how expensive beef has become. Hope you have a great week friend. Hugs!
I am sorry for your loss of your friend from here on earth, but I am glad he is in Heaven now. I have a friend in her final stages of death, and I just hate it too.
Love your fence.
Love the two girls - cute - and I love the baby booties.
Those ribeye's look delicious.
I know what the carnivore diet is - a little concerned about it tho.
Good luck!
I'm sorry about the loss of your friend.
Your fence looks great!
Sloane is getting so big! Cute as can be.
Good for you on losing 4#. I'm working on that too.
(((hugs))) I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. What a blessing to be there for the transformation. I believe too.
Oh that photo of Lottie and her booties. It can't get any sweeter than that.
Oh dear, those BBQ plates would give me the willies but they are too funny.
Good for you on your weight loss. Its such a struggle for me. I will have to look into your diet. The price of beef here is outrageous. Haven't bought much in such a long time.
Hope you find just the right fabric to use with your repaired machine.

A featherweight - so lovely. I am so glad you were able to be there with your neighbor as he passed...what a blessing.
I'm so glad you had the privilege to be with your neighbour and friend as he passed away. Sad but beautiful too, in the knowledge that he's now with his beloved Gweny ...
That Singer Featherweight is such a thing of beauty! My stepdaughter, who's an avid sewer and collector of vintage sewing machines, swears by them as no modern machine even comes close! She even made her wedding dress on one of those! xxx
So sorry about your friend, it seems your prayer was answered. God is good:)
So very sorry for the loss of your friend. Very sad.
Those scrambled eggs look so good. What's in there besides eggs?
Oh, that's sad regarding your neighbour. You know I believe it's a great privilege to sit with someone when they are going and go.
Now there will be lots of sewing, but a beaut looking sewing machine, the Singer. Good luck with your diet.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Donna. Your food looks delicious, as always. Hope all goes well with the repaired sewing machine.
I'm sorry your dear friend passed away. That must have been hard being right there at the time. Only the Lord knows when it's our time to go, and it was nice that he had a special friend near him when it was his time. Your fencing looks very nice. A sweet picture of little Lottie in PInk. The ribs and the shrimp look delicious. That's incredible about the skydiver. And I'm so glad you got your Singer Sewing Machine back. I hope it runs for you. What a treasure that is.
