Finally Took the Plunge...

Good morning, Friends...
Well hopefully, I'm back to a regular posting schedule!  It just seems like it's been a really busy July...doing things at church...home...and I don't think I've sewn a lick this month!  Can't seem to get all my chickens in one place!  Not happy about that...

We did, however, finally decide on a car.  We loved our 2013 GMC Terrain so much that we bought another one.  It's hard to beat a GMC anything.  They're just a well-made car or pick-up.  The last one was made in Canada...the 2026 was made in Mexico.  Hopefully we'll get another 12 years out of this one..we'll just have to see...Hopefully one day soon, we'll start seeing more cars made in America!

It's really going to take some time to learn about everything that's on this car...Larry asked what I wanted on it, and I said since it's probably going to be our last new car...I wanted everything.  Auto-start, heated and cooled seats...heated steering wheel...auto back lift...navigation...cameras...car play...all of it.  The only thing we didn't get was 4-wheel drive.  I don't think we're going off-road anytime soon, and with what little we do drive that extra expense wouldn't make much sense.  If it snows...we don't go out.  It has front wheel drive so that should be enough.  That's the great thing about retirement...

Secrets!  lol

Samantha, Sloane and Lottie resting at home...snuggle time.

I get to keep little Lottie on Friday!  Sloane goes to daycare three days a week.  Sam has some appointment and needs free hands.

Found this sweet photo of Larry at Air Force training tech school in Colorado...so long ago.  Looks like a baby!
1968...

Never knew this...but then, why would I.

Made an easy meal for a family of three whose wife is just out of the hospital.  I figured since here was supper...they needed cookies...Everyone needs cookies!! lolol

They're not homemade but they are really good...Pillsbury.

A hamburger on lo-carb tortillas!  Why eat all that extra bread when you don't have to??  These are great!

Pork and broccoli... sorry, but the only way I'll eat the green stuff is if it's covered in cheese!

Pork ribs with Larry's baby lima beans…

Scrambled Egg, tomato and cheese Grits...

Well, that's about it for me this time.  Hope you all are doing well and are safe wherever you may be.

We are still trying to deal with the drownings at the Guadulupe River near Kerrville, Texas.  UPDATE: 120 confirmed sweet lives lost...more than 160 still missing...so far.  All those little girls...campers...it's just unimaginable.  Please say a prayer for all the families involved... so...

Until next time....

Great having a new vehicle. We have a KIA Seltos all wheel drive not quite 2 years old. Have fun in the new car.

Congrats on the new ride. That's a nice looking vehicle. Mine is 10 years old so I may just look into getting a new one once I get back to work.
What a nice thing to do sending dinner and cookies. I'm sure it was much appreciated. I'm kind of freaking out reading about the strawberries. I just ate some the other day and now I'm wondering how many hidden things I ate.
Interesting about Diane Keaton too. I never knew that.

Of the various items that caught my attention, one was the green stuff with cheese. I get it, but I am not sure if I could do broccoli even then. That’s how Sue gets me to ingest cauliflower, however. Oh … the fettuccine looks very good. I really like that stuff and pasta in general. I like the bad stuff a lot more than the good stuff. Enjoy the new buggy with all of its bells and whistles.

Your new car looks wonderful!
I can't eat broccoli even with cheese. I will eat it raw in salads though.
The meal you took away looks very good!
Have fun with Lottie!

Hello! Congratulations on the beautiful new car! Enjoy the sweet baby, and how kind of you to make a meal for that family. That is something that isn't done as much any more, and I am happy to see it still exists. I enjoyed visiting with you today. Have a cozy afternoon!

Congrats on getting a new car with everything you wanted. I have heated seats and they are lovely. Food looks good. And as for Keaten. Since she didn't have her trademark custom on, I didn't know it was her even with the writing, I had to loooooook looook.

That's quite a car there. I hope it lasts for many years. A reliable car is important. That's a neat photo of Larry. Love those old photos, they're priceless. That was nice of you to make a meal for a friend, and send them cookies too! The pork and broccoli looks delicious. I just made pork tacos. I've always wanted to try Grits. That's a sweet picture of Samantha with the little ones.
Thanks for the update.....whispering a prayer for the people in Texas, it's terrible.

The photo of Samantha, Sloane and Lottie is priceless. That's a wall hanger to me. The picture is a story in its self.
All the food looks delicious and cheese and broccoli is a favorite of mine.
Prayers continuing for Texas and the tragedy. I just can't wrap my head around it.
Hope you have a great rest of the week.

It's so sad about the Guadulupe River and the tragedy in Texas. May God give each family who has suffered loss comfort.
Your food looks yummy...as always. xx

The floods are the saddest with all the loss of life, especially for those who are so young. Sending prayers to all of those affected. I also send my prayers to others, after reading all the stories about the heroes coming out of these tragedies, people risking their lives to save others.

Lovely new car with all the bells and whistles, and that big screen, and wishing you many miles of happy driving! Adorable photo of Samantha, Sloane and Lottie. A sweet photo of Larry too. Interesting about Keaton and Pacino. I don’t think either of them married did they? Though I don’t know much about either of them, just in passing. Your friends must have appreciated you thinking of them with a meal and both looked great. All your meals look great as always, as was this post. Thanks Donna!

We were so shocked to hear about the Texas floods ... I actually had to think of you, Donna.
Congratulations on the new car, and well done on going for all the extras. We did that too with our latest car. The problem is that you get used to all these things and can never go back :-) xxx

SWEET ride! Congratulations! I just bought a New Nissan Rogue...did the same as you...got everything but the 4WD. I have pages and pages of directions for all the fancy things the car can do, but NOTHING on how to program the dang channels on the radio. Go figure. I was about to call the teen kid from next door when I finally figured it out. 3 hours later! Ugh. Now to pay for the insurance on these new cars.

Your new car looks great and will be amazing (once you figure out all the features :) We're still waiting for the body shop to find a side panel for our truck. Meanwhile we get to drive a 2024 VW with all the bells and whistles. We're quite enjoying it.
I know you must have enjoyed keeping Lottie while Samantha went to her various appointments!!

Happy new car. My husband hates changing cars, always spends the first 6 months of a new one telling me it’s not a patch on the old one. Then one day he realises it is an improvement, I always knew that of course. Enjoy yours.

Congratulations on your new car! When I get a new car I always sit in the driveway in it and read the manual. That way I get to try things out while I'm in there. I see your new on has the shifter on the steering column too. Is that not crazy?! I'm learning to love it though. Such a cute photo of Samamtha and her babies!

How wonderful to get a new car! However, the big news is the birth of Lottie Lynn. I had to scroll through your posts to catch up. I know you’re thrilled for Sam and her hubby and for big sister, Sloane.
Yes, the tragedies along the Guadalupe still brings me to tears, Donna. Prayers for those families that have to deal with this unimaginable grief.

Lovely photo of Sam and her sweet girls and also the one of Larry as a young man.
Those cookies make me want to go out and bake now.
Such sadness at the loss of all those young lives . Praying for all the families that this tragedy will have changed forever x

Hi Donna! For some reason, your new posts are not showing up in my feed, so I am missing some so I appreciate your visits to my blog so I can visit yours! Wow, I love your new vehicle. It looks great! We bought a new car last year, to prepare for my retirement in 2026. We bought a 2024 Honda CRV because we had a 2015 Honda CRV and it has been very dependable. We gave it to our son when we bought the new car. Buying a good reliable car to have in retirement is very important. I love the picture of Sam and the girls. They are all beautiful. That's a fun picture of young Larry. He was a very handsome young man! Prayers for those who lost loved ones and homes in the horrible flood. I was wondering how close that was to where you live. I'll be back again soon to check for new posts. Have a good week!

Oh Donna that Texas tragedy is just almost too much to wrap your mind around. Such grief and loss. We have prayed for the families of those lost. What a massive job to rebuild and move forward. Your meals always look so delicious and satisfying. The car is beautiful and I'm so happy for you! And seeing Sam with her babies is so sweet. There is nothing like motherhood! xoxo

Donna, I'll expect a care package with all those delicious looking dishes! LoL. I haven't eaten supper yet and now I'm starving.

I was just thinking about y'all and the flooding. Such heart wrenching tragedy. How far from the areas that were flooded are you? I used to haul animals down to Boerne, Kerrville and Marble Falls. Glad to see that y'all are ok.

Grace & Peace,
Pam

Donna congratulations on the new car. Wish you the best with it. sounds like the equipment will keep your mind busy learning all the new stuff. Interesting about Diane Keaton...never knew that she loved Al Pacino. Wonderful photo of hubby at a younger age. Hope life will slow down a bit and you can get back to your sewing. Hugs!
