Good Morning Friends...Figured I'd best do a little check-in! Again, I've been absent for longer than I'd meant to be.... Keeping busy with Larry's Dad's estate...selling the shop buildings...shopping for Larry a new truck...planning to get the house painted...working on another quilt for our daughter, Crystal...getting Sloane's quilt top back from the longarm lady, hopefully soon...church...hunting down a good landscaper to get new hedges in the front yard in February...We are just too old to get out in the yard and dig those deep holes! At least five of them?! I'm thinking Sage. They bloom and you can get the compact size.
Sami and Everett took the greatgrans to the Fair & Rodeo. Took Sloane by the Parakeet enclosure... Sloane is a country girl...but I seriously doubt she's ever been this up-close and personal with one...Lol...bless my sweet Babygirl.
Well...after 50 years...we get a completely new road in front of the house! We were really tired of all the drainage problems and potholes.
Working on putting together the quilt for daughter Crystal...
This is a trend on TikTok. Know what? It actually worked! And it was delicious...Sheet pan Pancakes. Recipe
I always add powdered sugar and lemon juice! We learned about this years ago in Germany. Delicious.
Larry made Shepard's Pie...seriously good.
After church, we ate at The Brazos Landing on the Brazos River. Pricey but delicious.
It was a bit too chilly to sit outside...we've been getting rain...that and being windy doesn't really do it for me...lol
We could only eat half of what they brought out, on our plates! It's going to be our lunch again today.
And made a meal of Rice & Tomatoes with Butter.
We love this!
Finally...lol...We had several meetings to attend so once again, we ate out. Fish and shrimp...broccoli casserole with mashed potatoes did the trick.
Well...I guess you need a serious break after all that! And I suppose the sewing machine is calling my name.
Be safe out there...be aware of your surroundings. For my American friends, I don't know how much longer this shutdown is going to go on so I hope you are all prepared.
So...until next time...

You've been very busy! Look at Sloane - she's just growing so fast. Both kids are beautiful.
I like the idea of sheetcake pancakes. That would make a good breakfast for supper meal.
Speaking of meals, your food is making me hungry.
your quilts are absolutely exquisite! all of them that I have viewed. bob loved pancakes but now will not eat them or I would try this, but thank you for showing the shepherds pie. I can make a single and he will love it. he loves great value mashed taters from the package and I happen to have burger like this left over, so hello microwave LUNCH for bob. I can't eat what he eats so hate to cook a large meal. Sloans bird viewing is priceless and she is to cute for words... love the look on dad's face and the precious blue on her feet, she is as cute as Sloan
Wow you have been busy! All your food looks delicious. And your quilt what a wonderful gift.

Yeah on getting a new road. Sloane did look a bit scared, but glad overall she enjoyed the fair. Nice quilt you are making too. Janice
Oh my, you've definitely been busy, Donna!
Poor Sloane must have gotten quite a fright. I'm glad to read she calmed down in the end. I'm absolutely loving her boots, and wonder if they've got them in my size :-)
I do know the accidentally switching on the front camera of my phone thing. Now THAT is proper scary :-)
Your food is looking yummy, as always! xxx
HaHa you made me laugh with the phone turn around thing..When I do that it is down right scary !!!
Love Sloane and her precious sister. Too cute for words and your food photos always make me so hungry. Love the idea of sheet pancakes, especially for supper time.

It's a miracle, how you are able to manage all your activities, dear Dona! Your quilt is a really artwork! What a present! And Sloane as sweet as always, even when she looks a little bit or more distressed :) Her sister has a beautiful face, too 🌹💐🌸🌺🌷🌻🥀🌼🪻🪷💮
Many greetings and blessings to you and to your wonderful family from Dori from the Bavarian Forest
Sloane is so darn cute. Glad she didn't let the parakeets ruin her good time.
Your chicken fried steak looks really good and so does the fish and shrimp plate. Now I want something to eat.
Hi Donna! This is a great post, with lots of delicious food pictures. You have really had a busy October. Those pictures of Sloane are so cute. Glad you are making some progress with all of your projects. Resurfacing of your street is a good thing to have done. We went through that last summer. We had to park a block away and walk home for several days. Got some extra exercise but not exactly fun. Hope you have a good week. See you again soon!
