The Cold...Surgery, Paint Job, and Food.

Well, good morning friends!
Oh my...I've been away for a spell.  Nothing earth-shattering, thank goodness, but too long.  I hope you all were behaving in my absence?
I seemed to have non-stop things to take care of lately.  I thought I had retired but it doesn't seem so...Our little Sloane had dental surgery.  A tooth she had broken kept getting infected, so it needed to be removed.  She was a champ!  No fits of crying...just mellow and brave little Sloane, as you can see from the photos.

As you can see from her 40-minute ride home...sweet babygirl.

She started to perk right up after a little sleep and some fruit.

And Lottie?  Didn't faze her one little bit...lolol

I baked a chicken...really good, if I do say so myself!

Larry made his annual chili, which we bag up and freeze for especially, the Winter months...and no beans!

Also made some Cracker Barrel potatoes and pork ribs.

Saw these Peacocks in the parking lot of President Bush's favorite restaurant, The Coffee Cup.  He still has the house in Crawford, TX, but I don't think he and his wife visit much anymore.  They are now living in Dallas...which privately, I'm glad of...I never really liked ...never mind...
Anyway, the peacocks and peahens roam all around this area.

Then we had a quick lunch at Hat Creek Burger.
This is their Keto hamburger...It was Good!  Smoked flame burgers...and some avocado?  Ahhhh...

The house painting is now done.  We added the eagle over the door...reminiscent of my Connecticut roots...I still have family in Mystic and Voluntown. By the ocean...I can still hear the crashing waves against the rocks...a wonderful sound.  I was born in New London.
Well, I suppose that's about all for me except to wish all Americans Happy Thanksgiving!  Have a wonderful holiday!
So, until next time...

Oh, poor little Sloane. I'm sorry she had to have dental surgery, and hope she heals from it completely. What a sight those peacocks are! They are such beautiful unique birds. I used to see them at the zoo all the time. Your chili and roasted chicken look really good. A sweet picture of little Lottie smiling. And I LOVE that first picture with the pumpkins and the snow. Ours will be coming soon. ; )

Happy Thanksgiving Donna.

Kudos to Sloane for being such a good trooper. Chile recipe looks yummy. So did your roasted chicken. My great aunt use to have peacocks. They can be mean birds at times. Janice

That sure is no easy thing for a child to have a tooth out, well done to Sloane. Lottie is looking cute, sweet thing.
That chicken looks delicious and juices going to the breast is good too. Your house is nice too.
Take care - love the peacocks.

Oh she is a trooper! And cute as a button, too. We seek out keto burgers also. Chili sounds delish right now. The temps have dropped and some of the weather folks on facebook are hollering we are going to get snow. I halfway don't believe any of them, due to their fear mongering. Have a blessed weekend. I enjoyed my visit!

It's amazing how brave Sloane was when she had her surgery. And little Lottie is so adorable, Both those little girls are so sweet.
That beanless chili would have pleased my boys ( except that I maybe have spied some green peppers. ) I always included beans and they were not fond of them at all.
Your newly painted house looks great.

Oh, poor little Sloane! Dental surgery is tough, but she really does look like a mellow champ, that photo of her relaxing on the ride home is just the sweetest thing. It’s a good sign that she perked up quickly! And speaking of things that perk you up, your chicken and those no-bean chili prep sessions sound absolutely delicious! Freezing chili for the winter months is such a genius idea. What a productive return.

I think I would find it most interesting to see three peacocks in a parking lot. That said, one day I was driving to pick my son up from school, and there was a peacock walking along the side of the road. I couldn’t believe it! Turns out there was a farm nearby that had peacocks and one had escaped.

Good to see you posting, Donna. Very glad to read that the pulled tooth went well. Infections are zero fun and it looks like she handled herself like a little rock star.

PS: The name of the character in my post is Oogie Boogie from the movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Your Sloane is such a brave little girl and after the dental treatment that sweet smile is soon back. Cute photo of Lottie too.
Yummy, that chilli looks delicious.
The house painting looks very smart. Very wet here at the moment, so no outside painting for us although we are re-decorating our living room.
Hope you all had a fantastic day for Thanksgiving and that the month of December is a happy one for you.
