February....Are You Like Me?

Good morning, Friends... Well, it's truly well into mid-February!  This is when I need to prune my roses...We've been having days of temps into the 70/80'sF... nights, 50/60'sF !  Crazy weather.  Now, I just need to get out there and Do It!

These two are super close...in doing everything! lol

Sloane and Lottie...our little loves.

Larry bought me the sewing chair I've been wanting!  It truly is nice...under seat storage...and is super quiet!  Rolls like a dream with lumbar support.

Are you like me?  I have saved things that might not make much sense to others...like the above...and yes, there were many Conservatives, like Larry and myself...and not voting for him..., who had hoped Obama would bring the nation together...so I kept the paper announcing his win.  Likewise with Trump's 2016 win.
Do you save things like this or am I alone...
And in my recent purging, should I throw them out?
Do libraries take things like this?

Air fried pork boneless ribs, potatoes and a salad in a separate bowl...somewhere...Okay!  I saw that smirk! lol

Valentine's Day shrimp lunch...

My Fish and chips after church last Sunday.

Larry's big bowl of gumbo...lol...but it tasted just like what we make here at home!

Chicken thighs and sweet potato.

I made pancakes one morning...

We had steak fingers on the day we took our taxes to the CPA's... Oh... Got a call saying the return was ready...the next day!  We love our new CPA!

And a nice locarb lunch for a change...lol

Well, I suppose that's about it for me this week.  I have an eye doctor appointment this morning, so I best get busy.  Hope you all enjoy your weekend...stay warm or cool wherever you may be and stay safe!
Oh...Squirrel!  And can you believe they haven't found out who kidnapped Nancy Guthrie?  I think that investigation was bungled to begin with.  Although...that pesky neighbor who keeps showing up has my vote!  He keeps trying to tell the police "He had a premonition" that the son did it...smh...and he shows up every darn day!  How creepy is that?
Okay...lol...I'm done.

I myself think they should have not released the house so every Tom Dick and Harry could traipse right in afterwards. Kinda stupid if you ask me. Now DNA and possible evidence is gone. Sloane and Lottie are just adorable and seeing all that food is sure making me hungry. Need to go eat me some breakfast now. Janice

Cute little ones together there, love your new chair.
Used to keep newspaper clippings once but never seemed to look at them so threw them out long ago and don't bother these days as usually I can find on the internet if needed.
Your low cab meals look good.

Your meals look delicious. I used to collect newspapers but threw them out years ago when I moved. Have a wonderful week!

I am not like you in that I do not need to trim my roses right now.

I told Bob is he let the Guthrie story run one more time I was taking his remote, are you sure he is showing up every day or its just reruns, for days now everything they run is a rerun, they have nothing new so keep running it over and over. I pray morning and night that they will find her, to give relief to that poor daughter who is wasting away day by day. I can't imagine how horrible it would be now knowing if she is dead or alive. I personally believe she is dead. I hope not.

I could and would eat any or all of the foods you showed us, except the gumbo, not a fan. I love shrimp and would pick them out... that is how I feel, but these days would have to pick through the things that my tummy would love.. that sweet potato would be great

Those littles are as adorable as ever! And your food always makes me hungry.
I've saved newspapers and magazines in the past but not too long ago I got rid of most of them because I didn't know what to do with them.
The Nancy Guthrie case is very sad, I can't believe she's still alive at this point.

Look at all of the cuteness in this post...the kids are just as cute as can be and so is your new chair. I think you should save the papers and magazines. While cleaning out my in-laws home, we found many interesting articles from back when Kennedy was killed...I was happy to find these things. I truly hope and pray for a positive outcome from the Guthrie kidnapping ....Yet, each time I see all of this plastered on the news, my heart aches. There are people missing in our area and for the families, it is a huge let down that they are receiving little help in locating their loved ones. I think I'll take one of every food item on this post.. The food looks so good. Happy Thursday Donna..

Sloane and Lottie are precious. The comment about the flu made me laugh and I love your sewing area! That chair must be awesome.

Love your new sewing chair. It looks like it will give you a good support for your back.
Sloane and Lottie are adorable. They put a wonderful spark in your day.
I have kept a few newspapers for the history in them. Its always fun to see the ads and cost of things that are so different from current times. I don't think libraries want them though.
I have to admit that I'm tired of the rehash in the Guthrie case. Things were bungled from the start. Many other families are searching for loved ones with no wide spread attention. I'm sorry for the Guthrie family and really don't think that Nancy is still alive.
Hope the rest of your week goes well
Sue

Sloane and Lottie are precious. I save things I think people would like then guess what - no one wants them. And where is Guthrie? So sad. Love your sewing chair.

Hello! What a lovely post this afternoon. Your space here is very inviting. The littles are absolutely precious, and I know you must enjoy them immensely! I love your chair! The fabric is awesome. I am following the case as well, and am baffled each day even more. I pray for her and her loved ones, and hope this brings light to other people who are missing. Have a cozy evening!

We were in Walmart this morning and they had some of the most beautiful yellow rose bouquets. Made me think of my sweet mom...yellow roses were her favorite.
Sloane and Lottie make such a sweet team.
All of the food pictures are wonderful! I love gumbo.

Aw, Sloane and Lottie are adorable. Not only sisters but best friends. All the food looks so good. I've had a craving for fish and shrimp lately.
Love that last one about being unstoppable.

The girls are ADORABLE! Cannot get any sweeter! The new sewing chair is awesome! I'm sure it will be a game changer for your sewing time. The right tools make all the difference! Obama...nah. I'm from Chicago, I could have told you all about Obama...they call him "Silky" in Chicago. He's a smooth talker, but slips away from all accountability for the shady things he has done. He's a scoundrel like the rest of 'em. BTW...I save papers too. I have a lot from 911 and when Princess Diana died.

I love your sewing chair! It looks very similar to one that my mother had and that I’m regretting having not kept. She didn’t have the beautiful fabric on it like you do yours. Very cheery.

And your sewing chair sounds like a dream; it’s the little comforts that make daily life so much smoother. I also chuckled at your foodie adventures—everything from shrimp lunches to air-fried ribs looks delicious, and it’s fun how you capture all the small, everyday moments that really make life rich.

I am so jealous of your sewing chair. I really need on. I am using an old office chair with arms on it and it is just not 'right'.
OH! The roses!!!! AND the food!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Donna. Hugs- Diana

Sloane and Lottie are the sweetest, so precious. That is such a nice sewing chair and looks really comfortable. I pray every day that Nancy Guthrie will be found for everyone’s sake. Such a terrible thing to happen to a family, not knowing. That’s a great idea to keep headline papers. I don’t know why I didn’t do that when I had the chance. I have several real old ones in a box somewhere, that my parents kept. They go back to the 40s. All that food looks wonderful and thanks for the smiles. Have a great weekend Donna. Hugs, Denise

Ohhh don't even get me going on the Gutherie story...something is not right about all this. Love, love all the food (except for shrimp, keep it, I am allergic lol). Wishing you a beautiful day, my friend.

Ok, I'm chuckling at that unstoppable quote. The food looks so wonderful on here today. I just had fish and chips last night. About the old magazines.....I saved about three that showed Princess Diana's fashions and the places she shops. I kept them for a long time, but with the moves, I gave them away. Your sewing chair is so delightful, and nothing I've ever seen before. I'm glad it's comfy and sturdy. Sloane and little Lottie warmed my heart watching cartoons. And I love that picture of the woman pruning the roses with the sign Donna's Garden, so creative. February here is way too early for us to have 80 degree weather - we are still in winter. ; ) I hope your eye appt. goes well. Have a lovely Lent Season, Donna. I enjoyed your post today with my cup of coffee, thank you.

Thanks for stopping by Buttercupland. The little ones are adorable. And yes, I save newspapers and magazines. I saved the Life magazines from when President Kennedy was shot. I have to remember that I'm not an archive. I'm trying to declutter, but it's so difficult to let my "collection" go.

Sloane and Lottie are just darling, and that new sewing chair sounds like a dream! I had to laugh at the “squirrel!” moment and the mystery‑neighbor commentary — you tell it in a way that feels like we’re sitting at your kitchen table hearing it firsthand. Hope your eye appointment went smoothly and that you get a chance to enjoy those warm Texas days. 💛

I'm not sure why but for some reason none of your pictures downloaded when your blog post did. I guess it's just as well...that way I didn't have to get hungry from seeing all of your delicious food!
