Good morning Friends...
Well, I think Larry and I are going to make it... My cough is almost gone...as is Larry's. I've started on a quilt top for Laura (my sister's ex-husband's wife) because I was asked. She helped me with Ruth Ann when she had colon cancer several years back. This is not going to be my favorite project but...oh well...such is life.
Our Granddaughter, Samantha, threw her best friend a baby shower this last Saturday. This is Cortny. See the quilt I made? It was for her...
See the rocking horse? Larry made it. Turned out really cute. Samamtha loved it.
I kept the girls again last week when it was icy. The school closed. I turned on Sylvester and Tweety Bird...They both were enthralled! Lolol
As a child, I loved those two! Much better cartoons then, then now...at least I think so.
Another idea for breakfast was eggs, Italian sesame toast...hash browns and bacon.
Chicken and stuffing...with a salad.
When Samantha came to pick up the girls, the driveway was icy in patches. Sloane ran out of the house and when she turned the corner, running after her mom, she slipped on a patch of ice. She was holding her Barbie. Down she went...started to cry...confusion ensued. Poor Barbie was quickly forgotten. Sunday, Larry and I were returning from church when I spied said Barbie laying in a planter. She was not happy to have been forgotten...and looked quite cold in her current circumstance. I brought her in, dressed her and she now awaits the return of her mommy (Sloane).
Crisis averted.
I suppose that's all the news I have to report, for now.
I hope you all are doing well...and are safe from all the storms hitting the USA. Remember, as in the case of Barbie...don't run on the ice!
Until next time...

I'm glad you're doing better. That bug has hit my daughters house, kids are coughing like crazy and parents aren't getting much sleep.
You two are so talented - love the quilt and the rocking horse!
Where did you find Sylvester and Tweety to watch? We've tried to find those old cartoons but they don't seem to be available. Yes, they are much better than the stuff they pay now.
I am happy to see you pop up, and that both of you are feeling better. I love Sylvester and Tweety bird, and agree about the old cartoons were better to me. we are diving into our 3 rd week in a row of really cold front weather IN FLORIDA and I am tired of it
I'm so glad you are finally feeling better. Those icky things seem to drag on forever.
Oh poor Sloane ... I guess those icy patches can be brutal.
Sorry but I had to laugh at the "unlady-like" pose Barbie found herself in. Poor Barbie ... I know that Sloane will be so glad to have her back all neatly dressed and ready to play.
Love your quilt in that buggy and the rocking horse. Adorable.
Continue to heal and have a good rest of the week.
Sue
We are all glad that you are doing better.
That poor Barbie - glad she is okay. The ones I had did not have legs and arms that moved like that. The good old days like the cartoons. The girls were adorable. Love the quilt and rocking horse. Continue getting better.
Glad you’re doing better. There’s a lot of junk going around. I was asked to don a mask at physio today, and of course I complied.
I haven't posted here for a while, but every time I check your posts there is something wonderful, some wonderful ideas to cook, and always something to giggle at! Glad you are all feeling better. Hugs, Barb
Good to know you and Larry are just about over your coughs. You and Larry have so much talent. Your quilt is real pretty and Larry’s rocking horse, they will be well received. That’s a cute photo of the girls in front of the tv watching Sylvester and Tweety bird. Very true about cartoons then and now. Your meals always look delicious and give me great ideas for the dinner table. Had to smile at Barbie being left out in the planter. She must have been real cold but she looked happier after you dressed her very nicely. And very glad Sloane didn’t hurt herself. Those icy patches, I’ve come a cropper on them a few times. I don’t even go out when it’s icy any more. Thanks for the funnies. Happy February to you all Donna.
The two of you are so talented. I agree on the cartoons of the past were so much better. I loved all of them. Janice
It's great you are feeling so much better with that cough just about gone, what annoying thing to have hanging around.
Poor Sloane, hopefully she didn't hurt herself too much. I see a lot of short videos when people come out of their houses, step on a step and bingo they have fallen and dropped what they were carrying, certainly not a good thing.
Your quilt looks good on the pram there and also Larry's horse - gorgeous.
Take care.
OMG and Barbie was out there topless in that cold too...lol
That rocking horse is amazing. Larry did good. Between the two of you she got some great gifts.
You and Larry had a lovely representation at Cortney's baby shower. That quilt was gorgeous and I loved the way they have it displayed. So pretty with all of the shades of blue. And that sweet rocking horse...oh my goodness!
I'm glad that both of you are feeling better. The cough does seem to hang on for a long time, doesn't it?
Your food court pictures are amazing...as always. xx
Poor Barbie! And so scantily clad! :-) Glad to know that you and Larry are doing better.
What a darling horse for the shower and the quilt, too! I am laughing at bare-breasted Barbie lying in the snow. At first I thought she was dressed for the Oscars...that's about as much clothing as some of the gals had on this year. Glad you covered her and that she is safe for "mama" to come home and find her. Sorry you have to do a quilt you are not enthralled to do. I have done a few of those projects over the years as well. Determination and grit gets you through it and then you can be glad you are done!!!!
Happy weekend- xo Diana
ps. I had French toast this morning. First time in forever!
Glad to hear you and Larry are doing better. Lots of people here have the crud also. Running on ice is not good, a hard lesson to learn. Hope Barbie makes it back to her home. Take care and have a great weekend.
Thanks for the ever-so-fun share! Glad you are getting better - my husband is sick with the flu now - and what a baby he is haha But I understand.
Loved the Barbie story. As a Barbie lover, I appreciated it haha. That is the cutest picture of the little ones watching cartoons. One of my favorite things I do when visiting is watch Mickey with Charlotte, and all those animated shows with the kids. They get so into it, don't they? Your quilt turned out nice, and Larry's rocking horse is delightful. Two wonderful gifts. Your French toast looks amazing, as do all the meals that you make, Donna. And I always smile at those first photos that you create. They're nice and cozy. Have a pleasant weekend.
I sure don't know what happened to my comment from a few days ago.. Maybe it was just a senior moment.
My comment was about the Barbie and her wild pose. Glad you rescued her and made her "proper" again.
Glad you two are finally feeling better.

The meals you shared look comforting and hearty, perfect for cold weather and family gatherings. It seems like the week balanced chores, creativity, and caring for others very nicely.
I am glad you are feeling better. And thank you for the lovely photos of the food, smiles. Wishing you a lovely day.
Whew! So glad you are on the tail end of all that sick. It's been a long haul...you poor thing! Not sure who had it worse--you or Barbie. Hee hee! The quilt is so cute in the photo shoot. I'm stumped at the request for a boy quilt with a ruffle.
So glad you and Larry are better! Love the beautiful quilt and rocking horse! Those are nice gifts! I laughed when I saw the picture of Barbie in the planter! XO
It sucks to feel bad but I hate to have a cough. Cortny is beautiful and the quilt is adorable. And the Rocking Horse. Larry did a nice job. I loved the the Librarian quote pic. LOL
I rarely get french toast but that looked real tasty. Poor Barbie. I bet she was cold. LOL Glad you found and dressed her. I guess Sloane was okay after initial fall.
You and Larry are so talented. Great job on the quilt and rocking horse. I too was a Sylvester and Tweetie fan:)
Hugs
Donna it sounds like you are on the mend. Be so careful with the ice. Glad you were able to find Barbie and get some clothes on her till she gets returned to her proper home. All your delicious food looks delicious. If you are like me when it is cold out...I need something comforting to eat. Take care and stay warm and safe. Hugs!
Glad you both are much better. I am also looking after my grandsons for nearly three weeks by now. Your food is always making me hungry. I have seen that there will be snow in France this weekend. Here 30 degrees C!
SO SWEET the two little girls loking the cat- cartoon in your TV **** I'm glad, that you and Larry have no longer this hard caugh! The pregnant Queen is beautiful. The wooden horse is best work of Larry-Artist. Your quilts always are a joy and very valuable. You had cold weather - I heard ths in radio!
Many greetings and blessings to you and to all your family from Dori from the Bavarian Forest.
I agree that the cartoons we grew up with seem so much better than today's offerings. I wonder if your gran babies will say the same thing when they are all grown up. I love both your quilt and Larry's little rocking horse- both are beautiful. Oh poor Sloane slipping on the ice. I hope she is ok. It must have been a shock as well as a nasty bump. Hoping the rest of the germs leave your place very soon. You've been hosting them for way too long. Enjoy the rest of the week and weekend x
I'm pleased you are both doing better.
Poor Sloane slipping on the ice, it is so easy to do ...
Your food looks good.
Enjoy the coming weekend, it's Valentines Day on the 14th.
All the best Jan
Hope this finds you feeling much better. Such a good and kind thing to do in making the quilt top. How pretty the little baby quilt is that you made and that is a cute rocking horse! You two are so creative and talented! Such a pretty mother to be! It's so good that you rescued Sloan's forgotten barbie! She looks much better after your TLC. I am sure Sloane will be happy to know you saved her! Your food always looks so delicious!
Glad you are feeling better! The blanket you made for the baby shower is just perfect! Your girls are so cute watching TV:)
That French toast looks luscious. Glad you are better. Hugs
Oh no, poor Sloane! 😢 I can totally picture the scene — little feet slipping on ice, Barbie flying out of her hands, and the chaos of a child’s confusion. It’s so touching that you rescued Barbie and even dressed her to wait for Sloane’s return.
Your story captures the small but meaningful moments of care and thoughtfulness — a child’s world can feel so dramatic, and yet your attention to Barbie’s “cold plight” adds such warmth and humor. Sloane is going to be so happy to see her doll safe and cozy! 💖
Happy to read that you're both feeling better. That's wonderful. Very nice of you to make her a blanket as well.
