At one point, she gives some Attitude....This happened at Kings hospital in New York around the 20th of June...Granted...it's was on the psych ward but the woman, on the floor, had been there...in that chair for 24 hours...imagine....the nurse in me is Screaming.

OMG...that is the most horrible thing I've ever seen! I'm glad the article said those involved were fired. If that was a member of my family, they would be getting sued for millions!

Donna said...

Jenn- Isn't that sad?!!! How can we as humans, walk past, ignore or walk away from something like that?....night sweetie!hughugs

That is so stinkin horrible. I voted and see that 194,512 people agree with me, not surprised that something like this could happen. 63% of those who voted. That is so very sad that we feel that way but mostly that it did happen.

As truly sad as the fact this happened, no I am not surprised, and it makes my blood boil, and you know why!!

Makes me cry. It's not the first and sadly will not be the last if people don't get in touch with their hearts and their humanity again.

Love your music selections! Uplifting!

My mother had been taken by ambulance to the emergency room over a year ago. She lives over 2,000 miles from me. After about six hours of my trying to reach her at the hospital I got hold of an ER receptionist. They had placed my mom in the reception area! She is diabetic and was feeling faint and couldn't get any one to pay attention. I told her to roll forward out of her chair onto the floor thinking that might help. In this case it sure didn't. My mother did get help and I have no idea what she finally did.
Another time I headed to the airport here as soon as I knew she was going. Packed my bags, drove 1/2 hour to the airport, waited two hours before take off, 3.5 hours in flight, 1/2 hour cab drive and she was still in the ER. Pretty bad isn't it?

I saw that on the news and was so upset. I can't believe people are being treated like this. What's our world coming to?

Jeanne- Says a WHOLE lot about the hospital and staff. I personally know that the "good" staff cannot be Everywhere at all times...but Geez!...They have CAMERAS!!! Who in the world is monitoring Those??? And 24hrs WAITING???hughugs

Cindra-......For you and Sally And others, I just can't even find the words that will give you comfort...I also went through hell with my Dad and emergency rooms...but everytime "they" saw me, they knew they were 'gonna have to deal with a "bi**h", if they didn't hop to it! And I Don't let up...hospitals were my world. I KNOW what they're Suppose to be doing...and when they treat me like I have no knowledge of that world....well...All I can say is...If you want to Be a medical professional?....Be One!!!!....UhOh...LOL...sorry...I'm on a tirade...I'll stop...hughugs

Oh Donna, that's so terrible. I couldn't believe it, and clicked onto the newspaper article to read all about it. What a sad thing to happen - that poor woman. You're right, it's a dreadful comment on the world we live in. M xx

How did I miss this earlier? My mind's going,,,but geeze I hope I don't end up in a place like that. It's most unbelievable that the lady fell out of her chair and not one person got up off their asses to check on her.

The hospital here is so bad that when I was admitted a few years ago with kidney stones, I was there for over 3 hours before I saw a nurse, had sheets for the bed, or a pillow.

Donna said...

Margot- I was surprised you could click on the story and read it...Ac in Canada tried and was told the story had been pulled! Happy day sweetie!!hughugs

Brenda- How Terrible!! You were probably in tremendous pain!!! That would Not have happened to you if I was on duty!!!! Happy day sweetie!!hughugs

My daughter explained to me that it's apperently 'normal' behavior to expect someone else to do something. The best part is that once you know this you'll help out next time. spread the word!

Donna said...

Anji- Hi sweetie! I'm slow in catching up!! That's SO True! Wish more people would "get it!!!"
Happy day love!!hughugs
