We must always remember their sacrifices! And the sacrifices that their families made too! Best wishes for a wonderful day with your loved ones, sweetie!

Huge sacrifices, Donna. Blessed Memorial Day to you and yours. THanks for your kind comments and commiserations on Clarice's death. We miss the dear lady, for she was a most lady-like cat. Never pushing in for her food (I can still see her sitting straight up, paws in front of her and waiting, almost with a smile!) I always said to our vet when he dealt with her (the last time was in 2009 when she was hospitalised and the vet suspected poisoning) that she is clawless. He'd always lift a paw and see she did have claws. But to me her character was clawless. Aw, How we miss our four footed companions when they go. Bless you deares Donna. Have a great week. This was one of the big holidays in my family. Lots of flowers planted to decorate all graves related to us and a few that weren't. I still get all of them, a ritual in life.

Happy Belated Memorial Day to you, Donna dear. Beautiful and heart-rending picture. So many of our valiant veterans of days past -- the ones who fought to secure the liberties we have enjoyed our whole lives long -- are dying now, old and in some cases forgotten. May it never be said that with our thoughts, words, or deeds that we disrespected their great sacrifice.

I get excited when I meet an older veteran. I'm always interested to know what they did and where they served. Either way I make a new friend and get to thank them for the world I grew up in.
