Geocaching...

I know it's blurry....but couldn't fix it....

Yesterday, we did several things...My office manager, Ken, called early and said if we HURRIED...we could catch the Balloons lifting off from our local grocery store...Hahaaa...more hot coffee up my nose...ran and got dressed screaming at Hubby to RUN!!Hahahaaa.....MOVE IT!!! I've got a Balloon to catch!! We DID....catch the last one leaving town...and I took lots of shots...Camera was on the Wrong friggin' setting...Oh well....

SO....while we were out, we went to Sams Club to stock up on dry goods. Hubby wants to know if I'd like a coffee and Apricot cream cheese....something...Hahaaa..(don't know what they are but they're Good and I know how to point) Myself, who ALWAYS wants to play well with Others, said YES! Into the parking lot we pull, only to park WAY out by a lamp post in the back forty!

"Why the hell are we way out here...?"

He grins....

"Where you Going?"

Another grin as he hops out of the truck...

I watch him as he swings his head left than right...Ahhhhhh! A covert operation! Flipping something up then Out of the metal base of the lamp post, he removes his prize.

This small tube has a scroll that people locate, sign and then put back into the same spot they find it. THEN...you have to report it to the....geocache gods....somewhere in computer land. We did this for a while on Saturday...Him jumping in and out of the truck, trying to find little prizes. He has some Android locator on his phone BUT it's not the greatest...He needs...Are you ready...a BETTER one! Yes folks...a Better one that will take you Right To the little prizes....

Oh alright....I refuse to tell him no. He seems to be enjoying jumping in and out of the truck so much that I just don't have it in me to Say no. So, Buddy (not Dusty-he hated the name) and I will sit and observe his athletic scurrying around...flipping rocks and leaning over bridges.

Doesn't take much to please him....

SO, hope you all are having a good Sunday...I am...Going in for more coffee. And depending on how expensive his new TOY is 'gonna be, I may be able to get him to grill some sausage this afternoon...yeppers....

Beautiful balloon, but I like your four legged companion the best, he's so cute. A Chihuahua I'm guessing.

Apricot and cream cheese sounds so good. I'd do most anything for that.... and it sounds like you almost did.....

Sounds like your hubby had an sneaky motive in his scurrying around. He ends up with a new phone.

Cute post!

I think geocaching is kind of fun. We've gone out and looked for a few and helped hide one. It is funny if you think about it though isn't it - going to all of that trouble for a little trinket. Most important thing though is to record your name on the list of other finders!

We geocached a few times, but our gps wasn't as accurate as it needed to be.

glad to see you caught your balloon. I've heard about that geocaching. Sounds like your husband is really getting into it. We all need a hobby.
So did you get your grilled sausage?

I love all the colors on the balloon, and your puppy is SO cute! (I love dogs.)

I had never heard of geocacheing until an ex-church member stopped by a few months ago to say, "Hi" to me, and to also find a geocache that was hidden on our church grounds. Turns out one of our current church members participates in geocacheing and he'd hidden his cache on our 7 acres somewhere. I thought the idea was really neat. And if your hubby gets such a big kick out of something simple like that, more power to him!

Have a wonderful week, girl!

Sounds like you had lots of fun today Donna! I think your husband was looking at getting a new GPS?? I have purchased a couple of them for my guy....if he would just freakin' USE them!! Buddy is adorable and looks like he is enjoying himself!! Have a great Monday!!

Loved this post!! I have thought about geocaching since I NEVER leave home without my gps, but haven't tried it. I have done the book drops though. I left one in our library book drop and one on a bench in front of a bbq joint. Then you go on-line and give directions and somebody runs out and finds it, reads it and leaves a review and drops it somewhere else. That's kind of fun and a unique way to share books. Have a great week!!

Some are very well hidden and others right out in the open. It is fun if you need something to do, especially with kids. All the parks around here have lots and you can get a guide.

Beautiful balloon shot, Donna and I love your shiny dog! It doesn't take much to entertain your hubby does it, LOL! I've never heard of a geocache. Now I know... Have a great day, dear friend.(your Monday is only beginning, I'm heading for late afternoon here in East Africa.) Blessings, Jo

Okay Donna, you have got to stop making me spew my own coffee all over my computer screen. you are too funny. and whatever it is that your husband is doing? I'm clueless. I'm happy that your doggie is back to Buddy, I'm really partial to that name and you know, he really does look like a Buddy. Look at that cute little butt and those ears. you really lucked out with this one Donna!
have a great week.

Hahaha, it's back to buddy huh? That was my old pooch's name and he loved it too! I would also call him, Bug, Budder, Budderuski, and MOVE. And he had an Indian name too, since he was not a show dog, but had lazy ears - Ears That Hang as a Hound. hahaha!!!! Glad your hubby is getting some exercise, hopping in and out of the vehicle. Marty says hopping keeps you young at heart.

Whoops, my fingers aren't working too good. I never called him Bug. I called him Bud. I may be a bit whacked, but not totally so...

Ha ha, that's brilliant, sounds like a lot of fun. I've never been so close up to a balloon before, but honestly would never have a ride in one. Those heights would terrify me!!

This is the most bizarre post I've read today. In a good way. The only thing that would have me jumping in and out of a car or truck in this heat is a promise of a date with Johnny Depp at the end. I do believe he loves apricot with cream cheese and so do I, and we both love coffee!

I think it's hilarious that your hubby wants to do this! Good for him. I tried to get the boys interested and they looked at me like I had sprouted horns!

Good way to score some coffee and tasty side treats!

The balloon looks good anyway!

James has one of those do-dads so he won't get lost in the woods while hunting and to find his way back to a good hunting spot. They start at about 100 for the basic and on up to whatever you want to spend. I think you can get a pretty good one for about $400 though.
