Happy Nat'l Fried Chicken Day!!

If you KNOW me, then...you Know this is my BESTEST most FAB-A-LOUS meal to make...Ever! Yes folks, it's National Fried Chicken Day here in America! I kid you Not! Go Here. This photo is from another time that I fried up some of the tasty bird...Nothing better than fried chicken, gravy and mashed potatoes...maybe some corn on the cob for another side dish...Sweetened Iced tea with a big wedge of lemon...Nothin' Better folks! Try it this weekend!
This is Buttermilk fried chicken...need the recipe, go Here.
Well, It's been a weird week, and fast! Two more days off coming up at least! That's always nice. Hubby and I haven't planned anything special so I guess it'll be another "Surprise Me" kind of weekend. Hope you all have a safe and peaceful one...Or rowdy, whatever. I just learned that a friend of mine went skydiving on the 4th of July holiday....Jumped at 10 thousand feet...I think I'll just stick to frying chicken!Hahaaa.....

Enjoy that Fried Chicken for me!

Around this house, eating Fried Chicken would be in the same (dangerous) category as sky diving, at 10 thousand feet. -grin-

Oh goodness that looks good! I've fried chicken only one time in my life. Used to frustrate my Mom. She loved to cook and boy could she!!

No plans for me either. Staying out of heat :)

Have a good one hon!

That does look good. I think my mom used buttermilk also. I've never EVER fried a whole chicken.
But, the girls love when I fry up some chicken strips. :)

I hear thunder. Gotta get off this thing. Love ya!!!!

Oh my. I guess it's time for breakfast. I've been up for hours, and I haven't eaten or had a drink yet. Unfortunately, my breakfast will be bland compared to this marvelous looking dish.

It's been 25 or 30 years since I've fried chicken. The picture of your delicious looking fried chicken is very tempting!

oh mother of God, you have no idea what you've done to me. Due to health concerns I've given up meat, dairy, and gluten. Do you have any clue at all what that leaves??? One word: HUNGER. My mouth is watering, I'm drooling on the keyboard as I type this. Raw food diets may be healthy, but I'm still wanting me some fried chicken. oh, willpower, where have you gone?
Donna, you're a teasing temptress. happy week to you. {{{hugs}}}

Well if that don't take the prize. Do you know, I have NEVER made fried chicken? Ever. Just don't have any confidence in my abilities in that area. I'd sure like to taste yours, though! With all those sides and beverage you mentioned! *drool*
