Flu Be Gone...rant...

Chocolate Banana Walnut Bread... Recipe HERE

I used a milk chocolate powder...Next time, I'm using the dark chocolate.  And I'll layer the top with walnuts.

Morning!  It's been a while....  Had hoped the flu would pass our house by but it did Not...  Larry came down with it over a month ago...congestion, fever and coughing like crazy.  He coughed so much, his back and chest hurt...so sore.  He also had taken the Flu Shot!   I'll only take the Pneumonia injection.  I did not get the flu....I've been hearing a lot of people saying that they also took the flu injection but...they got the flu anyway.  If people would just learn that washing your hands WORKS...Know what the biggest object of germ transfer is?  Shopping buggies... (carts) handles.  Try not to scratch or rub your eyes or nose with your hand...use a tissue...go ahead, Practice!  Then, when you get home, WASH...Simple!
We all shop...we all shop sick...most don't know it but some DO and that really gets under my skin!  Stay Home if you have a fever!  Sorry about the mini rant...I've just spent the last five weeks with a very spoiled sick person...not fun
Yesterday was the real first day that I truly felt like he was over it completely.  We were house bound for quite a while but today, we're going out for a Chinese lunch at our favorite restaurant.  Relief...
Well, guess I'll cut this short...just checking in!  Have a super day and stay warm or cool, where ever you are!

The flu is bad here...the 3 hospitals nearest to us are all on bypass. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't work its way here. I hope Larry is feeling better soon.

I'm with you on the shot---I never get it.

I have never gotten a flu shot. It seems everyone I know who does ends up getting sick. I've heard that its really bad here and that people have actually died

I've never had a flu shot and neither has my TG. We have no plans of getting one. I've also never had (that I know of) one of those serious strains of flu. Sounds so awful. I am so sorry Larry had it so bad but thank God he's on the mend. xoxo

Washing hands is important. When I shop, which I do for I am the grocery shopper of this house, I try to remember to apply some hand lotion. This makes my hands feel less dry and helps me not to go to my mouth, which can be a problem with me.

As for the flu shot. Getting it doesn't hurt and may help, so I do. I figure it's something like driving less fast. You might still get in an accident, but it lessens the chances and may also reduce the severity.

I've been vacillating on whether to get the shot or not. My daughter got the shot and also got the flu. sigh.
Thanks for the reminder about the buggies. That's a very good point.
That bread makes me weak in the knees:) My sister-in-law makes banana, chocolate chip, walnut muffins. So I'm assuming it's pretty similar.
Enjoy your weekend;)

Aww man, so sorry to hear your husband's been ill. The flu is not fun...and can be deadly. I'm sitting hear looking at your blog list and HOW did I NOT know that you had started a new RV Blog in 2015???? Cannot believe I missed that! Anyway, I have added the new blog to my sidebar so I can keep track of you...honestly, Donna, I miss my RV terribly. I am hoping that once we go south and stay in our rental (that is SUPER cute, by the way) that I will feel better about the whole thing. But right now, I just miss it.

I still watch a lot of RV videos and subscribe to many on youtube.

Hoping you guys get in some serious traveling!

So glad Larry is better! But, sorry he had it in the first place. Also glad you didn't get it.

Our grocery store and WalHell have the wipes to rub down on the handles. I always use those just in case. Worst flu I ever had was in l997, thankfully not since and yes, I do get the shots but who knows.

Take care, stay warm. I came home today to a cold house; still shivering in my gizards. :)

xoxo

Take care. I guess its the cold weather that's causing these flu and other diseases at the moment.

Firstly, the bread...looks so goooood!!! Second I got the flu shot, but it was free. So far no flu in our house. Knock on wood. Sorry your hubby was so sick. Hope you make it through the season safely as well as I. Ha, ha.

Can't believe I missed this post, though we were dealing with some illness as well. Glad Larry pushed though and is better! That cake looks delicious, and I may try it since I've been cleared to eat walnuts again after I took an allergy test recently! Yay!
Big HUGS to you!
