Baby Doll Quilt...Lottie's Quilt, A Washable Carpet, Driveway

Good morning, Friends... It's been another busy week for us.  Larry's Dad is still in a rehab facility.  The first one he was in... well...let's just say it needs improvement.  Even though they said they were getting him up and actually doing his exercises, we don't believe they were.  He's had two UTI's now and delusions came with them.  You really have to watch UTI's and hallucinations in the elderly!  Anyway, we found a facility that Larry's Dad had once placed his sister in, about 8 years ago. He's a bit better but we don't think he'll ever be able to return home again.  He seems to stay confused...not a good thing.

Moving along...I made a Baby Doll's Quilt for little Sloane's babydoll.  She loved it!

Cotton on one side, that plush slinky material on the other.

I finally got granddaughter Samantha's baby shower quilt back from the longarmer.  I think the quilting turned out beautiful!  Hearts... Now I just need to sew on the binding and wait for the label to arrive so I can hand sew it onto the back of the quilt...then get it all wrapped up and ready for the shower on the 12th of April.

We threw out the shag grey carpet and I bought this washable carpet... We'll see how easy it will be to put into the washer.  It's pretty stiff.

Food Court

Red Potatoes with onions and Chicken

Next Day Stew

We got to keep little Sloane...a colicky cough they said but she coughed once or twice, then nothing all day!  And no fever...but we had a fun day!  Nothing slowed her down except her nap!

The city then began working on our street.  We have to park vehicles on the street because they started with our driveway (yea!).  That's about a 3-foot drop that they dug out.  Now, if it would just stop raining!

We love the rains but, the snails have had enough!  See them climbing up the flower stalks?  The white things...

Larry's Dad, Gerald in better days.

Well, guess that's it for the week.  Hope you all are being safe from all the storms sweeping the United States!

So... until next time...

Donna your baby doll quilt as well as your baby shower one are so lovely. I am sorry to read about Larry's dad. Have heard that UTI's can be so serious. Pray this facility is better than the previous one.
Baby Sloane does certainly look tuckered out. Bet you and Larry were too :)! Hugs

Oh Donna, your quilts are beautiful. So much love is in each stitch..and I think maybe the meme about the quilter is correct..haha..
So sorry about your Hubby's dad. Its so difficult to care for them when they are in another facility. Glad you were able to transfer him to a better one. Praying for the rest of his days to be covered in Peace.

The Quilts are AWESOME! I love seeing what you make and it looks like you have been very busy lately. I have two at the quilters, one in process, and four more to go! Bummer about Larry's dad. It's so hard on all involved. We've been through the driveway/street construction. Gosh! What a MESS it is. And all that water doesn't help...BUT...I guess that is better than the dust that usually comes with construction. Poor little snails!

I'm so sorry to hear Larry's dad has had UTI's. Those are awful. I hope he does better at the other rehab facility. The baby doll quilt is so cute. Sloane must love wrapping her up in it. The shower quilt turned out wonderful. What a treasured gift this will be. That "swearing" quote and pic made me laugh. That looks like an awfully large washable carpet to put in your washer! I hope it doesn't kill the washer haha. That chicken with red potatoes and onions and the stew the next day look amazing. That is the sweetest picture of Sloane taking a nap. Love all the Pink in the picture. We are having lots of rain too!

Have a pleasant week, and happy April days.

Donna, those quilts are gorgeous! Sloane's is so adorable with all of the kittens...and Samanatha's...well, my favorite color combination goes all the way through it! Just gorgeous!

Your food looks yummy.

I'm glad that you were able to find a different facility for Larry's dad.

Elderly cannot handle UTI very well, and every time they are moved from one place to another adds to their confusion. It is hard. Your dolly quilt is very cute and your pink quilt is just lovely, the hearts are a perfect quilting stitch!

The quilt turned out so pretty and the little one for the doll...is too cute. Wow..that is a huge hole dug out in your drive. Hopefully they will be quick at getting this work done. Isn't it wonderful to cook a meal and then to be able to fix a meal from leftovers? I love it when that happens around here. Your little Sloan is a little doll. Hope she is feeling better and I also hope that Larry's dad gets better from the UTI's. those things are terrible and so bad for the elderly. I always enjoy all of your Pink!!! Have a wonderful week.

Prayers for Larry's Dad and the update doesn't sound good at all. I went through this with my dad and he spent the last 9 months of his life in a home, but was blessed with an aid that loved him.
i thought that gorgeous quilt on the doll was the cute award for today until the photo of Sloan sleeping. beyond sweet and adorable. I did not know about UTI and delusions, daddy had the delusions a lot. will keep that in mind for the future. If I can. keep it in mind. ha ha

Lovely to see a photo of Larry's dad Gerald in better times and I am sending my best wishes to you all. Both Sam's quilt and Sloane's baby doll quilt are perfect.

It's good to read that Larry's Dad was moved to a different facility, where hopefully he'll get the treatment he needs. UTI's are nasty things. I didn't know about the delusions, though.
Loving Sloane's baby doll quilt and her little sister's (still in the oven), which turned out utterly gorgeous.
I hope your driveway gets sorted soon, what a nuisance! xxx

It can be so difficult when those unexpected health setbacks occur, especially with the added complication of delusions caused by UTIs in the elderly. I hope the new facility will offer better care and that Larry's dad continues to improve in small ways.

On a brighter note, it's wonderful to hear about the baby doll quilt you made for Sloane's doll. It must have been so heartwarming to see her enjoy it. Also, the quilt for your granddaughter Samantha’s baby shower is coming together beautifully. What a lovely way to show your love and care.

Sending positive thoughts your way for both Larry's dad’s recovery and your upcoming baby shower preparations! What a busy, fulfilling time you have ahead.
