Shock Cleaning...Label, Spring and Miss Lottie Lynn

Good morning, Friends... Well, I got tired of doing my sewing in the living room!  So... I got the brilliant idea to move everything to a bedroom that I use as my "office", Cricut Room...etc.  Well, Larry bought me the Cricut about 4 years ago just because he thought I needed a hobby...lolol...I didn't need a Cricut, but I thought it such a sweet thing to do, I tried to use it.  I did make some t-shirts for Sloane...(greatgran), Larry used it to print out a few things but basically, it just gathered dust.  I really tried to get into it but...alas...never happened.  Well, last week Larry said, while I was trying to figure out just where I could put all my sewing equipment, he says, to sell the Cricut to make room!  Bingo...so I did.  Listed it on Facebook and got tons of offers immediately.  I chose a local girl that is friends with my daughter and granddaughter.  She was thrilled to get it along with all the accessories.
Now the room change-over begins.

What a MESS!  I forgot to get a "before" shot...

Libby has to supervise...

We both carried...dragged...struggled with...this table to get it into position!  We are both too old to do all this manual labor!   What a shocking realization!  ....lolol  We have no one that can help us...we are all we have, short of hiring someone.  I was tempted!  Maybe not yet though...but soon may have no alternative.  We took a long break afterwards.  I was surprised we were able to get out of bed the next morning!

Still, so much to do...

Well...it probably is...lolol

Big Sister Sloane is excited to welcome little sister Lottie into the family...May God grant them closeness and loyalty with lots of love sprinkled in, for always.

This is our still un-born, Miss Lottie Lynn...Can you believe the clarity of this ultrasound????  It absolutely took our breath away!!  She's so beautiful...Thank you God!!

Baby Lottie's quilt is almost done!  All that's left is me hand sewing the label on!  Samantha's shower is Saturday...the label arrived just in time!

And yes, I added Larry (Gampa's) name...he did hold the quilt up for me so I could get the full-on shot...Lolol

This is a new block I'm playing with...log cabin but, I need to finish the label, then get the sewing room finished and cleaned up.

A quick tip...I needed a place to be able to look at my blocks that I create.  Larry had a large piece of cardboard, and I had an old plastic tablecloth that has that short furry backside on it...I cut the tablecloth to fit the cardboard, furry side up, glued it down all around the edges...added some "Alien Tape" (Amazon) to stick to the back of my sewing room door...and it works great!  Yes, you can see the pattern of the tablecloth, but I just ignore it because I really don't want to bother going to Dollar Tree for a new one.

Spring is springing here, even though it returned to cold weather last week.  It's warmer this week now...thank goodness.

Larry is making birdhouses now...I think they're too cute...he's going to make 6 or 7 and put then on the side of the wood shop wall.

Food Court

Granddaughter Samantha brought Larry and I, apple fritters. We had kept little Sloane, and I think this was a bribe...lolol

Larry's Dad had sent a box of Omaha steaks 2 years ago and this little filet was found in a lower basket of the freezer.  Figured I better get it cooked!  It was alright but tiny.

Pan of chicken and baby red potatoes

Tri-tip and corn with green beans

Well, I suppose that's it for me...for now.  The city is still working on our road... it'll be good when they finish. Then I have granddaughter Samantha's baby shower to attend on Saturday...I hope she likes the quilt... So, until next time...

WOW that sure is an amazing ultrasound and my how they have come since the days I had an ultrasound done. Glad you were able to re-arrange your room, but like you am not able to move heavy furniture like I once did either. Janice

I wish one of my other personalities loved to clean too! Love that you sold the cricuit and that it got a good home. Well done on the room. I love that Libby has a spot. We do that with our spaces too. It's the best.

I have a mini cricut and like you, I tried it but barely use it. Good idea to move your sewing into that room,
That ultrasound of Lottie is incredible! They've come a long way!

I had no idea that photo is an ultrasound. Amazing! so beautiful already. Wow! I am totally shocked it is so clear. it sounds to me like you have plenty to do with out the circuit, you are talented in cooking and baking and quilt making. We are in the same boat as you are. 88 and I'll for him and me hanging on at 80 doing everything, and my only friend died on valentines day. its just us. no one to come and move things or reach the lights that need to be replaced in the ceiling.

Larry's bird houses are delightful. I really like the design he put on that one. Your red flowers are so pretty. No flowers here yet, it's still cold in the mornings. Your sewing room is coming along nicely. That's a lot of work, but you're getting there. Yes, be careful with lifting furniture. One time I pulled a muscle in my lower back, and I had the most painful back spasms. So nice of Samantha to bring you apple fritters. I smiled when I saw them, as they were one of my mom's favs. The chicken and potatoes look amazing. The quilt you are making for Lottie is wonderful, and I especially like that special label you are working on.

Happy Spring days, Donna.

What a neat project for Larry to be working on cause everyone needs at least two or three birdhouse for sure. Those apple fritters look so good. There is a bakery close to my house that makes wonderful pastries, including apple fritters. I never go there because I’m weak and I know I would come home with way too many, and would be forced to eat them all.

I saw you had posted all your Cricut stuff. I'm glad you found someone to take it all. For all the stuff you had it was a real bargain.
That quilt is gorgeous and she's going to love it. I can't believe that's what an ultrasound looks like now. That is amazing.
All that food looks so good. It made me hungry.

Moving all your sewing stuff was quite a job. No wonder you were both tired.
I love the birdhouse that Larry made. It's amazing 💗💗💗

Hello there, Donna. I, too, like the others, am totally amazed at the ultrasound!!! Incredible to say the very least.

It's been many years since I've sewn anything. My sewing machine has long forgotten its purpose! Once upon a time, way back then and when, I used to make a lot of my own clothes. Those days are long gone. Good on you, though, for jobs well done. :)

Take good care...all the best to you and your loved ones, Donna. :)

I'm all excited about the sewing room renovation! That's really exciting and I think you will enjoy sewing more now. One thing I changed is that I only buy fabric for a predetermined project so I don't have a "stash" per se. Then I don't have to store fabric all over the place. It also gets me excited to start (and finish!) full projects. Enjoy that sewing room!

I have never seen anything quite like that ultrasound. How incredibly beautiful and precious to see Lottie now before her birth.
The girls will be the best of friends and Sloane will be a wonderful big sister.
Sometimes letting go of something that was given as a thoughtful gift is hard but Larrys suggestion and your action means someone else is blessed with using the Cricut. Well done both of you.

I envy people with sewing skills. I also envy people who have those embroidery machines. A friend of mine in the neighborhood has one of those and it is fascinating to watch that thing work. It also looks very complicated so it’s nothing I would consider investing in, particularly because I’m a bit impaired when it comes to sewing. Congratulations on that new serger. I know you’ll enjoy it.
