Good morning Friends...
Another week...I had some sad news about another childhood friend. I have to admit that I've always prided myself on my ability to keep a "neat" upper chin when it comes to death. Being in the nursing field, you have to try and remain in neutral while the world falls apart around you. But I've been out of nursing for a long while now. Cindy was a buddy from high school days. We ran together...laughed...did so much together. We each married, had kids, lived our lives...always trying to stay in touch until one day, we didn't. I knew she'd developed diabetes, and it wasn't an easy road for her. She was 71 when she passed away at home. I don't know what happened. The visitation is this Friday...maybe I'll get some answers then.
Here's to rainbows, butterflies and Ford Mustangs old buddy...
Fly high.
Sloane and Arlis...cousins...and really close.
I love them. They bring sense to a senseless world.
God keep and protect them always.
It's almost in new condition. Happy Sunday to me! lol
I made candy...Chocolate and walnut. Rolled them in powdered sugar then wrapped them up. They were good...couldn't help myself!
Breakfast...scrambled eggs with onion and parmesan cheese.
Roasted a chicken with mashed potatoes and sautéed onions.
Also re-heated the rest of the roasted chicken and again served with that delicious gravy. Larry loves it...
I don't know how many of you watch Miss Lori over on YouTube, but Larry and I like her and husband Danny's offerings. They live on a homestead in Arkansas. Her 2nd cookbook is finally out. I'm waiting for mine to arrive. She's old-school though, checks or money orders only. Cash is okay but might get lost in the mail, so she advises against it.
Go check her out!
Oh my Word, this stuff is good on toast or biscuits!
Well, I suppose that's about it for me this week. Hope you all are safe and well...Just letting you know how much I love and appreciate you...
so until next time...

You had a good day out. I really like that bag!
As usual, your food looks very good.
The sheep story is so good!
Sorry to hear about the loss of your old friend, all 5 of my friends in Savannah have pre-deceased me and I miss them even though we did not see each other much but we did commuicate through text and email and FB the cousins photo is priceless Love it...
You show some might fine looking food dishes.
I'm so sorry to hear that your childhood friend passed away. My best friend had a fiery blue Mustang, and the fun we had cruising in that car. The chocolate and walnut candy looks sooooo good. And the fish and chips look delicious, along with the mashed potatoes and sauteed onions. That's interesting about Morgan Freeman and his earrings, and a smart idea. Love the picture of Sloane and her cousin, and what a beautiful sunset.
Have a good September week, Donna.

Donna seems like all us girls know what you are going through with the loss of your dear friend. I am sure there is going to more and more of that happening as we age and it hurts! I am sorry for your loss. Kids do make sense out of the senseless world. I did not know that about Morgan Freeman - that earring didn't look like it could pay for a coffin these days - lol. That was a beautiful purse. And we do need the Lamb of God!
So sorry about your friend. Sending big hugs. Never knew this about sheep and rattlesnakes. Good to hear your sheep is ok. Glad I ate before reading your blog, because those food pics would have made me hungry more. LOL Janice
So sorry to hear about your friend.
Nice bag. That was a good find.
All the food looks so good. I want a little of everything.
Sorry to read about your loss, and she wasn't that old either.
I love that photo of Sloane and her cousin, it's special for sure, Donna.
Your food does look good too.
Take care.
Oh, I'm so sorry about your childhood friend, Donna. 71 really is too young! One of our circle of friends passed away earlier this year. She was only 66 and it hit me really hard, particularly as it was at the time of Jos's health problems.
The innocence of kids really does bring sense to a senseless world! As does enjoying good food :-)
Sending hugs to you Donna xxx
Hard to lose friends, my sympathy to you.
Hi Donna. So sad to hear about your good friend. So young, and lovely. Your grandbabes and your food just both wonderful. Trying to edge myself back into blogging after being so sick. Hugs

It's wonderful that you were able to get out and enjoy some time thrifting. Finding a great deal like that new bag with a charging port sounds like a perfect little win.

A bag that you can recharge devices, how cool is that. Roasted chicken looks great. Have a wonderful weekend, Donna.

Oh, Donna..I am so sorry about the loss of your dear friend. That's a long time to be friends! Sounds like you have some fun memories with your time with her. I pray that those help to keep your spirits up. I still have my high school friend, and they are certainly a treasure.
I am so sorry to read about the loss of your dear friend. At this age we seem to be getting the same kind of news, with dear family and friends being stricken with illness. Thank you for sharing your memories of her. May she rest in peace.
Interesting about the earring. Very, very sorry that you lost your buddy. Even if you drifted apart, she was still part of your life and heart 🧡
