Good Morning Friends...
It's been a rocky week, hasn't it... But...we have His promise that everything is going to be okay. Love your family...hold on tight.
I haven't been around much...too darn many things happening. The shooting...getting sick...Larry getting his usual 3 month bladder wash for the cancer (Friday) then attending a bed build for children at the church on Saturday and him coming home not 2 hours after it started (8am to 2 pm) at 10am looking like death warmed over! I didn't think he was going to make it to the bathroom before passing out...he didn't pass out but felt like it! It was already ninety degrees outside...he said it was fast and furious like an assembly line! Each person had one job to do then it passes to the next guy...his job was cutting the lumber.... Larry will be 78 this October...he simply cannot do this sort of work anymore. I think that knowledge rocked him. We are old and getting older. Nothing will stop that fact. But we don't have to invite a bad situation in... I think he now knows he's no longer Batman...he's Robin, and that's okay!
These are our reasons for hanging around on this old Earth...Children, grandchildren and greatgrands...
Thank you God, for we are so Blessed.
One thing Larry isn't too old to do is bake/cook! Tomato gravy and biscuits was on the table waiting for me!
This morning it was Bacon and Poblano Pepper Scones! Loved these!
Larry went to church alone last Sunday...I was down and out with...something. Nose, sneezing, tired and achy. We usually go to lunch somewhere after the service...a date. Since we didn't go Sunday, he took me for a Gelato at an Italian restaurant. We come in and tell the seating guy that all we wanted was gelato...period. He directs us to the bar area. No... we didn't order any booze...although the Limoncello looked interesting... but no... just gelato please.
I once ordered a Coffee Martini...Delicious!
Chocolate caramel and Vanilla Bean...
Delicious!
Well...I suppose that about it for me this week. I hope you all are well and happy and safe!
Praying for a happier week...our children, grandchildren and greatgrans are supposed to be here on Saturday! SO excited about that...so until next time...
Thank you for the visit!!

Yes, it's been a hard week. I'm reminding myself that God is in control and has a plan.
Poor Larry, I'm glad he's doing better. He sure can cook!
Those grands are so adorable! I agree on the grandparenting/parenting quote.
Until bob stopped walking on March 28, at age 89, he could still do just about anything he put his mind too. His PT calls him the Viking. Just will not stop, now in his mind he is still the Viking, and he doesn't know he can't do things. its really hard on him and me... the food looks Devine and I would eat anything anyone else cooks. I do not like to cook at all. In fact until I was 10 years old I prayed to turn into a boy so I would not have to do GIRL StuFF
Your previous post brought tears to my eyes, which has happened very often this week. Love the grandchildren pictures, I always say that my grandchildren are my reason for getting up in the morning. I'm glad you both are feeling better.
I'm with Larry...I keep thinking I can do more than I am able. It's a hard reality. It has been such a sad week...and now I find out that Robert Redford died today. Criminy.
Donna, I'm so sorry that Larry had a hard time at the bed build for children, and especially for having to get his three month bladder wash. That must have wiped him out. Sweet pictures of the babies, and they look precious in Pink. Oh my, the food on here looks delicious. All of it. The gelato looks scrumptious too. I hope the week ahead is a better one for you, Donna. Life has a way of knocking us down from time to time.

I love your picture of Jesus on the top - so beautiful.
I know exactly what you mean about Batman and Robin - you do have to accept that fact - both man and woman. But like you said we are so incredibly blessed and have our children. It's been a good life.
Love gelato too!
Comparatively speaking, he seems do be doing quite well, certainly better than I at 78.
It was a terrible week last week. All we can do is TRUST HIM.
OH and those beautiful grandchildren are such a blessing.
Hope you and Larry are feeling better.
I'm with the rest of you, this past week has been so difficult. All I can do is pray and Trust.
Sos, so scary about Larry. Yes... I am in totally agreement..our Hubbys aren't Batman any longer but the Robins (which is a really important position) of this world. Dave will be 84 in a few months. He just can't do things like he used to. It is a really hard reality to accept.
Your Grands are so precious. Love the pictures.
I laughed out loud at the sticker post.
Hope you are feeling better and will have the strength for your company.

Very hard week for sure. I am Charlie Kirk. Great memes. How wonderful to make beds for those who need them...but yes Larry needs to slow down. Janice
Well, I do hope that both you and Larry are feeling better now.
Beautiful photographs of the grands.
All the best Jan
Hope both you and Larry are feeling better now. There always seems to be things in life that remind us that we aren't as young as we used to be.
Sorry to hear Larry overdid it and wasn't the best. Age catches up with all of us. He still can do a great job in the kitchen.
The realization of not being able to do what we once did so easily can be a bit of a shock for some people.
I hope you both will be ok quickly as being not well is not a good feeling as we know.
Dreadful tragedy happened with Charlie, a lovely man and well learned.
Take care.
Nice to see the girls so cute! Hope Larry and you feel better. I just had a good gelato
Butterscotch ! So good!😊
A rocky week indeed. Praying for you husband...and you.
Donna, I always enjoy your pictures. I'm sorry that you have been ill and that Larry didn't realize that he was no longer Batman before he started feeling bad.
I do hope that Larry is doing better and that you are taking care of yourself. I think last week was difficult in so many different ways but thank goodness that we have a Good Good Father who loves us so! prayers for you and Larry.
Sounds like you had a tough week indeed. I'm sorry you were both under the weather. I'm hearing you on Larry no longer being up to jobs like that. Jos will be 78 in a couple of weeks as well and he really had to learn and pace himself, which he too is finding difficult to deal with. xxx
A tough week all round, but I have always thought children are our biggest blessing and they get us through much sadness. I used to have a friend who always said "Growing old is not for sissies." She always said it as a joke and I would dutifully laugh. Well, I find myself saying the same thing to myself these days, and not for laughs, usually when I am on my own and the creaking joints take over. Thanks for the share Donna, may you all have a great end of the week.
Yes, a hard week. - - - Important: Love your family...hold on tight.
Your 2 little girls look more than wonderful! Yu are so blessed. Yes, we are now higher on the mountain and near the top. We don't jump like youngsters, but our steps are riper. I lover the picture with Jesus and the heavenly light.
Many greetings and blessings to you and to your wonderful family from Dori from the Bavarian Forest!
I'm still so distressed over Charlie. God help us. There is evil afoot but ... we are on the winning side! Larry's cooking looks so comforting. Tell him I said take good care of himself ... and you do the same! xoxo
Older folks need to take it slow in the Summer heat! It was a hard week, but God is in charge:)
My sympathies are with Larry. It’s really a grind getting through treatment. Hopefully it will be well worth it. It has been a rocky week, and it’s hot here too. This past week it was up near 100°. It’s September! I have had enough of this heat.
Hello! Such a lovely space you have here! I pray you both are felling better, and continue to do so. I enjoyed your post today, and am looking forward to visiting again soon.
Praying for you all. God bless.
Sneak away and mow the lawn. lololololol.
Hey Robin kicks butt. He fought Bruce Lee in Lee's first on-screen fight so, nothing wrong with being Robin.
Here's to a better week for you 🧡
Same here, we don’t want to slow down or face the fact we are old but our bodies tell us otherwise. Hope you have a better week and wonderful family time.
