It Lingers...

Good morning, Friends...
Well, I think I'm going to live.  Everything but the cough is but a distant memory.  I'm far from having some zippity in my doodah but, I'm making it.  Larry seems to have the cough now.  Can't decide if it's his usual January allergy cough or the garbage I have.  He doesn't have any fever, but I'll be watching.
This is the icy/snowy sight we woke up to this morning.

Other parts of the country are experiencing the same storm.  We may get a snow event maybe once every year or two but it's definitely not the norm.

Did I tell you about finding a rock in my bag of almonds?  Maybe I did on Facebook...Well, if not, I found a rock.  I almost chomped down on it but was saved because when I reached in to grab some of the almonds, I grabbed the rock instead.  Boy...That would have been an expensive trip to the dentist!  But no harm, no foul.  I'm not the suing type of person.  Stuff happens.  Now if I'd busted my bridge or a tooth...I would have asked for the price of the dental trip but nothing more.  I think some people don't know how to "keep it honest".

It was a pretty good size rock!  I contacted the company and they were gracious.  They asked for its return...packaging number...date.  They sent a mailer to return it, and I did.  Hope no one else had this happen to them.  With things the way they are these days...it's hard to find good help.
This was in California.

I did force myself to finish the baby quilt for Samantha's friend/boss' shower.  Let me just say this...I will NEVER do ruffle ANYTHING ever again...period.

I had to keep Lottie Wednesday and Thursday.  She had the same thing I have so... It was not easy, but I managed things.  There was no help for it.  We are a small family, and we have to pitch in and just "do it".
She is such a sweetheart and a really good baby.

I also managed to make chicken and corn...

Instant Pot chicken and potatoes with bell pepper and onions.

This is the shot I should have taken...instead of the jab I did take!

Larry made breakfast...pretty good.

Well, that's about all for today.  It'll be a cold few days, so I'll start on Laura's quilt top.  It's just straight lines so it shouldn't be difficult.
Hope you all are staying well!!
I'll see you all next time...

I am sorry that "crud "is lingering...and I love your remedy for the flu shot, lol. Keeping you all in prayer, stay warm my friend.

HaHa, Linda beat me to it. I was going to say the same thing about the "crud". Even our stomach flu lingered way beyond time. The lethargy has hung around for far too long.
Your Lottie is such a sweetheart. Great picture. and a great job on that quilt. Really lovely.
Get better asap !!!

I'm glad you are doing better and I hope the zippity comes roaring back! Praying Larry doesn't get it though.
Lottie is soooo cute.
I was laughing out loud here on the 5 year old that wasn't his. Read it to Bob who is also laughing. :)

Oh no, looks cold. We're getting a ton of snow today. It's been coming down all day. Sorry to hear you still have the cough. Hope Larry isn't getting it too.
All the food looks good as usual. Love that baby quilt too.

I am hoping y'all feel better soon. My hubs is sick now. Looks like you did get some snow there. Sorry about the rock. Lottie is so cute. How old is she? I like your flu shot. Feel better.

Glad you are both feeling better. We are getting the snow which is better than ice. Oh no on the rock. Hope they give you free stuff for it. Janice

Glad you're on the mending road and hope no one else gets the crud. The rock could have done some serious damage, glad you noticed it. A few years ago we got a bag of walnuts and there were a few shells in it. Got to be careful so now when I have nuts I chew them slowly to make sure there aren't any surprise. Have a wonderful week.

I probably would have mindlessly bit down on the rock.

Well that is some rock for sure, and it's pleasing the company was helpful.
Lottie looks lovely and trouble with the frill on the quilt, oh yes, things don't always go according to plan, do they!
Hopefully your cough will be gone soon as I'm sure you are so tired of it.
Take care.

Hope you get all your zippity back soon. The baby blanket is very sweet. The corn looks delish. We had some last night. And the drink made me smile. I do a version of this, virgin. A little different but also similar. Citrus, ginger, turmeric, honey, yum.

I'm so glad to hear that you are beginning to feel some better, Donna. From people around me that has had that nasty stuff, the cough seems to linger for a while.
That sweet Lottie! You'd never know she was sick to look at that picture of her. What a sweet smile.
That was some rock! Goodness me! I'm glad you did contact the company.
All the food pictures look so yummy!
Hope Larry's cough isn't a sign of things to come. xx

Good day to you Donna, so sorry to hear about the cough hanging on, and now Larry. I hope you will be 100 percent soon. I hope none of us get any more snow storms. A rock in your bag of almonds, good grief! I’m glad you didn’t break a tooth! Beautiful job on the baby quilt. Ruffling sounds like a lot of work. A cute photo of Lottie. She sure is an adorable baby. Yum on your food and Larry makes a great breakfast too. Thanks for the flu shot. You had me at Peach Schnapps, lol! All joking aside, it sounds very soothing. Also thank you for the dried onion soup recipe. Feel better soon! Hugs, Denise

Sorry to hear that you have been sick. I had a cough for 3 weeks. Thankfully it has gone. Not nice. I hope you can stay warm and well.

I'm glad you are feeling better, buddy! The cough with this flu apparently lingers for a while. I haven't had it (knock on wood) but my friend did and she's still coughing weeks later. Goof thing you didn't bite on that rock! Little Lottie, oh my gosh she is so cute! I can't tell you how much I miss cuddling a baby! I'm keeping that flu shot recipe in case I need it in the future! XO

So sorry about the lingering cough. But I'm glad you are feeling better overall.

Yes, those bugs do seem to be lingering. They are doing the same here. I do like your version of the flu shot; better than the nasty jabby in the arm version.
I'm having shivers thinking about that stone and what it could have done if you had bitten on it. I know my teeth would not have coped and a visit to the dentist would have been needed. Glad you were Ok though.
Cute Lottie photo. She seems a very happy baby. Just like her big sister.
Hoping those last few germs finally leave your place and that the rest of the week is good for you and your family x

I hope you'll soon be feeling completely well. Good thing you discovered that rock and didn't break a tooth. I suppose these things do occasionally happen. I like how honest you were in dealing with the company 💗.

Oh my gosh, that is really something about the rock! But like you said, stuff happens. Hello little Lottie - don't you look cute in your Valentine onesie. She has such a sweet smile, Donna. The quilt turned out really nice, and I like the fabric you used....and the ruffles. The "failure" quote is very special. Love that one. You managed to make some delicious meals despite being sick. The flu shot drink reminds me of the hot totties that were made back in the day haha. Your front yard is pretty with all the wintery ice. We are supposed to get snow in February. I'm glad you're feeling better. : )

Glad you found that rock before biting down. Yikes.

I felt as though I was coming down with something, so using the chicken stock that I had made previously I made chicken soup and had some for dinner every night for about four days running. I also had one of those flu shot cocktails, and everything seemed to work. Thank goodness! I buy those same smokehouse almonds that you got. How shocking to have found a rock in it. I’m going to have to watch in the future when I eat those, although generally, I do, but still. Yes, that would’ve been painful and expensive dental work.

Aww Lottie is so cute, what a lovely smile.
That's bad finding a rock in the bag, thankfully you didn't break your teeth!

I can't believe we are now in February, I do wish you a good month ahead.

All the best Jan

Hope everyday brings some improvement! We like those almonds also scary to think of a rock being in the package.

Unfortunately this year January was exceptionally long and we’ve all suffered the effects. Hope things are picking up for you, spring gets nearer every day.

Such a sweet baby photo… it really touches my heart.
I hope you're feeling much better now. Take care.
I once sewed ruffles onto an apron, but I don't think I'll do that again; I don't really like ruffles. All my love to you.
Have a wonderful February, everyone.
