Easter...Machines and Me

Good morning friends!
Well, it's been a little while since I've posted.  We kept the babies...at our age, it takes strength...lol...and then rest...oh yeah! lol
Then...my new sewing machine conked out on me!  My little Singer that I use for doing the laborious task of piecing really started to act up on me.  Thread getting stuck in the needle hole...not letting me pull the fabric out...over and over so I gave up.  I'm working on a quilt and was getting frustrated at all the wasted stops and starts...cleaning...rethreading needles...yadayadayada...so off to the new quilt store for a replacement!  See it Here if interested.
I get it this Thursday...and yes, I have another machine to work on until it comes in... but I hate having to move all my things...I have dedicated areas for things...oh well, if you sew, you know.

Remember I told you we were having our front yard planted?  We really like how it all turned out.

Maybe in a few months the plants will fill out.

SO true! lol

While keeping the girls, little Lottie decides to practice her walking stance...lolol...won't be long now!

Pork loin...peas & carrots and gravy.  SO good!

Then I made smothered chicken and bow tie noodles.  Yum!

We ate out over the last several weeks, several times.  One was just awful and this BLT was from a country store called Miller's.   It's in the middle of nowhere, but so worth the drive.

Well, I guess that's it for me today.  Going to finish up cleaning out my sewing areas.
Hope you all enjoyed Easter and are well and safe...and happy!
Until next time...

Lottie looks ready to roll with the walking thing. so cute. your plants will grow and fill in and be beautiful. all I have in the back yard is dirt and leaves and weeds, the front yard has what we call God's Grass because what ever grows there we did not plant it or water it, we just cut it and I did cut it myself day before yesterday and today did the dirt, leaves and weed in the back

Oooh, the yard looks so nice! Also looks easy to maintain too, which helps our old bones. :) So excited for the new machine! It's so fun to get a new one, isn't it? Now to learn all the options on it....!

Little Lottie is going to be walking any time. Your lawn and planter looks nice. I always love that new layer of sod that goes in. Sorry to hear about your singer breaking down. Thursday will come soon enough, and it will be back to the sewing that you do so wonderfully. The pork loin covered in gravy looks really good. And the smothered chicken looks delicious as well. What a charming picture you created with the lady walking amongst all those pink roses. I wish you a good week, Donna.

Too bad about your sewing machine. Hope the new one works well for you.
Yum on all the food. You've made me hungry. I love using my air fryer and find more and more things to use it for.

Hi Donna, feels so good to be back to blogging and visiting all you dear friends I have missed. Love everything about your post. What a litle cutie pie...will be running all over in a few weeks. Our newest great just turned 9 mo. They are such a treasure.
Of course, your food court leaves me drooling every time.
I used to be such a seamstress, but now it's sew on a button or less. Someways I miss it, other things have taken up my time. In our little unit, really no place for a machine or area to use it. But I LOVE seeing what you make....You are so talented. Sending hugs.

Your little ones are sure growing. It does require a lot of extra energy as we age to keep the grands..and great grands. I love keeping mine, but I am sure tired when they leave. Wishing you a beautiful Spring day...

Great to see you back Donna, you’ve been busy and looking after the babies would have been great but yes, needing all your strength :) That’s a cute photo of your sweeties. Sorry about your new sewing machine, how disappointing that is. I am glad your new one is coming soon. Your front yard looks really nice. They did a great job! Thank you for all the funnies, they put a smile on my face. Yum on all your cooking photos. And sometimes those out-of-the-way places is worth the drive. We have a few of those. Thank you for the info on the air-fryer too. I need to use mine more often, hugs, Denise

You did great work, dear Donna! But it is very much work and responsibility to look after such little grandchildren. The are sweetst, but you are on - I think - the border of your energy. I had my for girls at home for several days, together with their parents ************
May the Lord help us always to be thankful about HIS presents!
Many greetings and blessings from Dori from the Bavarian Forest

It sure sounds like those grandkids kept you on your toes, but there is nothing like a little rest to get back in the swing of things. I am sorry to hear about your sewing machine acting up, though a trip to the quilt store for a new one is always a nice silver lining. That front yard is looking sharp, and I bet that BLT was worth every mile of the drive!
