The Brenda Photo Challenge (3-19-11) Before & After

Hello Challengers! Well, here we are again...The Theme of our Challenge this time was Before and After. I hope you enjoyed working on you photos?!! After all, it's all about just having some photo fun. For my shot, I chose an old car that is parked at one of my favorite shopping places...Caroline's 77 Sunset Strip Antiques. I LOVE to walk the aisles hunting for the vintage items of my youth!Hahaaa....Vintage, indeed! Let me assure you I don't go back as far as this car but it was indeed built before 1951.

I played around with my Photoshop Elements program a bit...found some interesting level controls and started moving them and WaLaaaa. Darker and more dramatic. I LOVE color. The more dramatic, the better. I'm still trying to learn but this was fun for me. Hopefully I'll be able to spend more time this weekend just playing in Photoshop!
Well, I'm on my way to see your wonderful shots! Enjoy your weekend Guys!

Bravo Donna. Fabulous transformation. The best way to learn the program is to just keep playing. Not only can you sometimes discover some really cool effects but you can also have loads of fun :)

I LOVE it! Love the old, vintage, look. Can you believe I rode home to Arkansas from Minnesota when I was 6 with my dad in a car just like that,,,except it was restored. I felt like a true gangster!

Great work on this photo. You have bought out the depth of colour well and made the car really pop in the frame.
As for the differences between PSE and CS5 there are almost too many to mention. PSE has many automated tools for adjustments, CS5 has these but also all can be fully manually adjusted. The addition of layer masks in CS5 is also a great boon over PSE. Cs5 composition tools are great too where you can combine multiple similar photos into one shot, ie. a family photo where there is an element in one that is better in another the two or more photos can be combined into just one photo.
Sorry for the long winded comment. feel free to drop me a line via my blog if you have any more questions on it.

Very nicely done. It looks like you did some HDR on it too but if not, that's really good to make it look like you did when you didn't...did that make sense? Love the challenge. Can't wait for the next one!

I love to search thru the odds and ends looking for that one special thing I must have! sounds like a great place to shop. Your work on the car is excellent IMHO.
The colors your used really pop out the detail that go unnoticed in the SOOC shot.
