Good Sunday Morning!

Good Morning! Ever wonder what the bloom of the Crown of Thorns looked like? I had never seen it in bloom until Hubby and I went to a San Antonio nursery last Summer and found one. I like the way the tiny blooms are arranged on the stem. It also made me a bit sad that it could be used in such a horrible way as to fashion a crown from it!

Well, it's been another busy week. Our Tylar graduated from basic and will now progress to the next step in his evolution...Tech school. Prayerfully, he will get a decent assignment. Won't know for several months. I've also gotten the next Brenda Photo Challenge posted if you'd like to go sign up. Hope you enjoy it.

It's been a bit nasty and rainy with some cold mixed in here in Texas. I'll be so glad when it warms up and stays around for a while! Guess I'll get in the kitchen and see what I can find to make for lunch. Hope you all are having a great day so far. It's getting to be time to gird up your loins for another wonderful week....at work. Think I'll turn on an Indiana Jones movie and grab a cuppa coffee....Enjoy your day!
PS- By the way! Debbie is having a Three Year Blogaversary Give-a-way! Go stop in!

Hi Donna, horrific to think the soldiers pushed that crown of thorns down on my Saviour's forehead until the blood ran. I weep with gratitude for a God who sacrificed His son to die on the cross for me. Congratulations to Tylar. Thanks for your continued visits and beautiful comments on my blog. Blessings and (((hugs))) Jo

What a pretty flower that is, Donna. I've never seen it before.

My son, now 40, joined the Air Force reserves 18 years ago. It's been a great experience for him. He had two women drill sgts. We went for his graduation from basic and when I asked him what it was like having women yelling at him, he said, "It was a piece of cake, mom, just like being at home."

The GI Bill helped him get his BS in electrical engineering and he's gotten quite a bit of active duty time at nearby ( 60 miles ) Travis AFB repairing the computer navigation systems for the C5 and, now, the C17s. He's a Tech Sgt and, in Aug, will head to school for 5 months somewhere in TX, and will make Mst Sgt. Not bad at all.

You must be really proud of your son as I am of Shawn.

I don't think I've ever seen one of those either. It is pretty.
Your plan for the day sounds pretty good to me. I would rather not even think about having to start another work week though until I absolutely have to :)

I suppose by posting that photo, you're telling me that it's blooming now. Okay, well just you wait until it's 120 in the shade down there ... :)

The flowers are beautiful. We had to shovel more snow this morning. I am not sure how much more of this I can take.

What a beautiful flower, Donna... but what a terrible reminder of what Jesus went through...
Just love all your pictures, Sweetie!
Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

I have my very own crown of thorns plant that has been with me for many many years and I've given off-shoots to everyone I know, including my priest, who had never seen one himself! It serves as my reminder to persevere during tough times, because what I'm going through pales in comparison to the suffering of Jesus. enjoy that Indiana Jones movie Donna, and have a great day!

My loins are girded! Oh yeah! I have a busy day today with my nose to the laptop grindstone, LOL. Got to go down to Chattanooga tomorrow! Retirement was vastly superior to this working stuff, but I adore the paycheck I get every two weeks! We've already got another vacation scheduled for the year, LOL. Shhhh, it's a surprise!

Thanks for getting the photo challenge updated! I can't wait!!!

I agree, the flowers are just gorgeous as are all the flower photos on your site! :-)

The fact that the crown of thorns used on our Savior was probably a beautiful, flowering plant at one time honestly never crossed my mind, so I've learned something new today. Thank you!

Only sinful mankind could take the beauty of what God created and turn it into something twisted and ugly. Thank goodness God loved us enough to send his Son as a Savior!

Enjoy your night and keep those awesome photos coming, k?

I've never seen that plant and didn't know it bloomed! What an amazing array of blossoms and what a pretty color!

I hope Tylar likes his situation at Keesler AFB. My son didn't care for it much. He was in Biloxi for hurricane season!

I'm late! And thank you so much for mentioning me :) You are sweet.

I've never seen this plant either, but if I had, wouldn't know the name. It is beautiful.

Tylar's tech school will be better than BMT. I've visited Keesler and I liked it. Little more relaxed and hopefully he'll get stationed close by...

Sending you big hugs!!
