Rain...Finally!

I know our back yard looks awful...I Use to have my planters filled with flowers and veggies but not this year. We are under water rationing so we can't do much in the way of saving flowers. The St Augustine grass is our biggest worry right now and what little we can water usually is spent on trying to save it. This morning, God was good to us...rain is, at this Very moment, falling on us! It's like waking up on Christmas morning! Hubby and I keep looking outside to make sure it doesn't disappear! What a Gift!

Hubby finally picked the "lemon" from my "lemon" tree....there was only one. I've been faithfully watering it all Summer hoping I could save it...When he cut it open, it turns out...it's a LIME TREE!!! I have been waiting ALL Flippin' Summer for that thing to turn yellow...Hahaaaa...The tag even SAYS it is a Lemon Tree!! Well, they lied! But, that's ok...we Love a good Key Lime Pie!

Well, hope you are getting what You need this morning...I know we are...now I just need a good, hot, cuppa coffee.

So happy for your and your rain fall. May it continue all day!

What a surprise to expect a lemon and having a lime instead. It sure looks good though!

That is just too funny that your lemon turned out to be a lime.

I would have been lost not to be able to water. I spend tons getting the yard ready each year. As for the grass, it on its own.Looks like you have a collecter barrel and that helps.A fresh lime sounds good, maybe show the nursery and they will give you a lemon also.

Great post! I am still laughing. My dad did the same thing he kept telling me he had one almond on the tree he had ordered. I kept telling him it sure did look like a tiny little fuzzy peach. He finally picked it. LOL He called the company and they sent him his almond tree.
Our back pasture looks like a lake and actually has some ducks swimming in it today. It's crazy.

Glad you are getting some rain. It's painful to watch everything you've worked hard to grow just burn up and die.

The picture of the limes made me chuckle... and my mouth pucker.

Hooray for you getting rain!!! We went to the movies today and when we came out it was raining! Was so excited to see it rain, but we were thirty miles from home and the dust barely got settled here. They say we still might get rain tomorrow...fingers crossed.

Hooray for your rain!!!

Funny thing is, we have gotten so tired of it raining so much, up here. We did a happy-dance when the sun came out a few days ago. :-)

So, Donna, does this mean when life gives you limes, you ask politely for lemons instead? lol
Oh, and I'm so, so happy you've been getting rain. We have too, finally which has been a death sentence for my plants too.
Happy weekend!
