A Slow Sunday…🎀

Good afternoon…just checking in.  My sister begins her chemo treatments tomorrow morning.  She’ll be staying 4 to 5 hours…Chair #1.
Not sure what the chair numbering is all about because the day of orientation, Samantha needed a babysitter for baby Sloane…I couldn’t say no.  It’s like Spring when she comes…warm and comforting.

Samantha, Sloane’s mom working her magic.

Our Miss Sloane

I’ve started the Carnivore way of eating…again.  I’d started several months ago but
with the way things started happening in my life, I had to stop.  The call of carbs was just too strong.
The above photo is fried pork roast, shredded.  Delicious with salt.

This is fried hamburger patties…Gouda cheese slices on top with heavy cream gravy.
Just wow…

These are bacon, cheese and onion scones.
Now you understand why I needed to start the Carnivore way of eating…😂

There’s a volunteer company in town that builds ramps for the elderly.  They built one for my sister.
I think, when she saw it, it drove home the fact that she’s not that young girl any longer.  That sometimes, with aging, comes big life choices.
You can't fight Father Time.

Grilled steak and buttered garlic shrimp…

Must be a sign…a reminder perhaps?

Bought our little Sloane a walker.  She had a bouncer, but it became a bit boring.  She looked at me the last time I kept her, and I believe her eyes were telling me she needed wheels…cross my heart! Lolol…I ain’t changing my story…
May the miles she travels be safe and blessed ones and may God hold her in the palm of His hand.

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend.  Be safe, hug your loved ones, a lot.

A Big Hug,
Donna

Good luck to your sister! I hope all goes well with her chemo. Sloane is adorable! I know I say that every post but I bet you never get tired of hearing it! XO

I hope your sister responds well to the chemo. Keep praying.

Sloane is adorable, as is her mom. I agree that babies need to move, not just bounce.

All the food you photographed looks super-yummy. It's making me hungry and it's dinner time right now, so that makes sense.

It was a beautiful weekend, have a blessed week.

Good luck and prayers for your sister's chemo. That is so sweet of you watching Sloane. Hey those foods look good - but I like carbs too. Love shrimp!

How generous of the volunteers to build a ramp for your sister. I hope the chemo doesn't make her too ill. All the food you made looks good but as I am 98% vegetarian it's obviously not something I'd eat. Have a lovely day with sweet little Sloane!! Granny Marigold

Best of luck to your sister.
Sloane is such a little cutie. I totally believe you that she communicated that she needed wheels :)
Those burgers look so good with all that gravy on them.

Donna, the food on your blog makes me drool every time. I just don't know which dish looks the best haha. But I think I see a Pioneer Woman plate, which I love. So glad they built a ramp for your sister at her home. And wonderful that it's a volunteer company. Oh, I remember those little walkers. I hope Sloane likes getting around a bit. She's in a high chair now! Oh my, they do grow up fast.

Happy Valentine's Day. And a delightful post today.

I wish your sister the best. I've certainly been there, and more than once, but here I am still around to talk about it. Your carnivore diet looks amazing. My mouth was watering looking at those pictures. I do feel the pull of carbs though.

I hope your sister's treatment is successful. Sloane looks ready for wheels.:) The walker sure has changed its appearance since our daughter was a young one back in the 80s. Have a wonderful week, Donna.

Oh your precious Sloane is one cutie patootie.
I don't blame you for getting her that walker...that's what Grandmas do!!
Praying for your Sis and the chemo.
Yes I hold my family close to my heart too.

Prayers for your sister. I hate that she has to go through chemo. I'm afraid Britt will be doing that also.

Sloane Avery is such a doll. Before you know it, she'll be walking in the walker all over your house. :)

How wonderful that someone built that ramp for her! I'm glad she has that to make getting out (and in) a lot easier. Prayers for an "easy" chemo treatment and a successful one.

Thank goodness that you have baby Sloane to brighten your lives! She sure is adorable!

I have to tell you...all your baking has motivated me to do more...but gluten free. It is a challenge that can be overcome with the right flour mixture and ingredients. I have been successful with really good treats that are not dense or flavorless. WIN! Uh...but yeah...my weight. Ugh.

I hope your sister’s chemo went ok. My late hubby went through 25 months of it.
Baby Sloane is such a doll baby and growing too quickly.
All your food looks so tasty!
Hope you had a nice Valentine’s Day! ❤️

That image of the steak and shrimp made my stomach do flip flops. Yummy. I wish all the best to your sister and her chemo treatment. My husband too had a reserved seat for his treatments.
