Sweet Sunday...

The Trumpet Vine is getting off to a fast start with all this warm weather we've been having! Trust me when I say, if you ever get this stuff started...you won't be able to get rid of it! It overtakes EVERYTHING! We just did a major trimming but it'll come back. My Mom gave me a pod of it before she died in '96...I just can't completely kill it off...it's another memory of her...
Yesterday, I COOKED!!Hahahaa.....I made a chicken broth....

and put the chicken in a pot of Navy Beans with onions and bacon...Hubby and I cook up lots of "extras" on the weekends to eat during the week. Working and coming home to cook, as well, is no fun...
While sitting on the patio, I spotted my little buddy, FatBoy. FatBoy likes to sneak up on the patio and steal ears of corn from a supply I keep under the coffee table, in a bag. I suppose he knows it's his so he gets tired of waiting on me to put it out. Little scamp...I no longer have any pets so I try to baby him a bit...Hahaaa....I need help don't I?!!!!
Y'all have a wonderful Sunday and DO behave!

The trumpet vine is very pretty.
Great idea to cook extra on the weekends. I always hate coming home from work and trying to figure out what to make for dinner. Maybe I should start doing that.
Those squirrels have no problem figuring out where the food source is. :)

I did have a nice Sunday, but didn't behave all day. That would crimp my style of living. I went out of town this week and forgot to post for the challenge, bad boy.It is nice to be back home, your own bed always feels nicer.

Yes it's beautiful...

I'm interested in FatBoy. I have a squirrel I named Sally. "He's" my deck friend to talk to. However, the idea of putting the bag of corn on the deck is AMAZING!!! I've put out stuff but "he" wants the birdseed.

I should change his name. Maybe Stan. Love the idea.

Also love, this gorgeous flower is a reminder of your Mom :)

Our next door neighbor planted a trumpet vine on our common fence a few years ago and you're right, it's taking over the fence and sending little shoots into our yard! I always think if I would spend the weekend cooking for the week I would be so glad during the week, but I have yet to do it!

I want to have lunch at your house Donna. that soup looks delicious. and I love that you call your little scamp FatBoy. they are a lot of fun to watch. you know, I've always wanted a trumpet vine but I've never had the spot for it to climb all over, but it's one of the few flowering vines that will grow in lower light on the north side of a building, so that's why I like them. your flowers are beautiful. I bet the hummingbirds love them. have a really great Monday Donna. {{{hugs}}}

Soup is comfort food and that sure looks like pure comfort! Been hot here too and I hate it. I want Spring, not Summer! Our squirrel has three little posts in the Whimsey Woods where we let him have his fill of corn on the cob but he still likes to raid the birds larder of sunflower seeds, too! But we don't mind.

*LOL* Fatboy likes his corn, Donna!! He's so cute- it looks like he's saying table grace in the picture. *hehe*
Boy, your stew looks so yummy... it's making my mouth water!
Beautiful trumpet vine... and a beautiful reminder. ((HUGS))

Wow, that Navy Bean soup looks yummy!

And don't feel bad about naming the wind animals around your house. My family does it all the time. Heck, we even named all of the racoons that came to our campsite when we vacationed in Florida last month. LOL And I have a pet squirrel ("Squirrel Bob") and used to have a pet salamander ("Sallie") at the church where I work. (She froze to death over the winter, darn it!)

Have a nice week!

Love the trumpet vine, but you're right, they'll take over the place if you let them. A sweet memory of your mother.

That's a healthy looking squirrel....so cute...glad he's got some corn.
