Getting a Grip on Things...

Pretty much says it all...

If you'll remember, back in January, when my sister Ruth Ann's journey with colon cancer began, I told you about her Ex-husband's wife, Laura...and how, over the years we all became good friends?  Well, Laura has been along for Ruth Ann's journey with us.  She has a bad back...and many surgeries.  Well...last night, we find out Laura has cancer of some sort.  Skin?  Bone?  We don't know at this point.  They've taken a lump the size of a American quarter, out of her upper knee area.  They also found some spots on one of her arms.  They said it's an agressive kind of cancer...
She's scared...as we all are.  We just don't have all the facts yet.
If I haven't worn you out with all my request for prayer,, please find it in your hearts to say more for our Laura.

This was a quick meal...penne noodles, cream, cheddar cheese, ricotta cheese.  We enjoyed it.

Larry ordered a solar pump for my birdbath...Just needs filling with some rocks.

A "Better Boy" tomato?  Never heard of it but I found it at Walmart so I hope it produces...

Larry built me the "bones" of an outdoor potting station!  I'm so excited to get it filled up with holders and pots and brick-a-brack.

I need help identifying this seed!  We've never seen one like this before.  It was just laying on the patio the other morning...all by itself!  Don't know how it got there or what it is.  If you know, let me know!  It's the size of a fifty cent piece and just as round.

And, as I was taking the crazy looking seed's photo, I looked over to my right and staring back at me was this wasp...I caught him in the act of making a nest...He got sprayed with a blast of water and is currently looking for new diggs!  Scared the be-jessus out of me!  Their sting hurts like fire...and my face was inches from him.

Got a new little bird feeder...although the squirrels like it too...I don't care though.  I'm trying to get wildlife back into our backyard.  I guess squirrels are also a good indication of life...lol

My Big Boy tomatoes on the other plant are growing like weeds!  Had to tie several branches up so the weight of the tomatoes don't break the branches.

And who is this gorgeous doll?  Our Sloane is getting so big...Will be 10 months old on the 15th of June.
Well, guess that's about it for my world this week.  Please remember Laura in your prayers.  We are so tired of fighting the Dragon...cancer.  Life must go on but it would be so nice if ...oh well...you know.  Live life in Full Every Day...you just never know....but,
God's Got This...
Love to you all...

I feel for you and your family. Advances are now being made by scientists with new vaccines and treatments for cancer being announced in the media in the past couple of weeks. I feel sure that cancer will soon be fully treatable, and even preventable. I hope these things come about in our lifetime, especially for you and yours. Sending hugs x

I am so sorry to hear about Laura, that's so sad. Yes, I will definitely say a prayer for her. That is the cutest little bird feeder. Although, I'm not fond of the squirrels at all haha. That wasp looks really creepy, almost poisonous, be careful. I love the outdoor potting station that Larry built. You will have fun sprucing it up with all your plants and such. That is a cool solar pump for the bird bath. And the penne noodles look delicious. Little Sloane is darling in this picture.

Take care, Donna.

Yes, God's got this but sometimes the journey is difficult and steep.
Continued prayer for your family and your precious friend.

Yikes that wasp is scary..hope he finds another home far..far away from you.

Love your new potting station and your soon to be yummy tomatoes. Home grown are sure the best!

What a cute little bird feeder. Squirrels are a pain in our yard. They are forever eating our fruit before we can get to it.

Sloane is such a cutie.

Oh my Donna, prayers for Laura, too.
Your new swing bird feeder is adorable! I have so many squirrels and I’d be happy to share some with you.

I like your new potting bench. What fun getting it outfitted with pots and tools etc...
We've grown Better Boy tomatoes and they did okay.
I will definitely say a prayer for Laura.

Oh Donna, we do hate the cancer dragon. So sorry to hear about Laura. That is very scary. I had a battle back in 2009 with breast cancer, but thankfully they caught it at stage 1 and 2 lumpectomys and 8 weeks of radiation, and I've been cancer free since. Thank God.
You pasta dish looks so good, I want to crab a fork.
Your planting station looks so cool, can't wait to see it all filled up with your supplies and pots. Wow, the size of those tomatoes.. My dearest loves a tomato and onion sandwich, with mayo.
Our grandbabies are about the same age. She is adorable. Our little Daniel Rey was 10 mo. in August. Soon they will be a year old! Time flies.

Will be praying for Laura.

Yes, you never know what will be tomorrow.I hope Laura will recover, I will be praying for her.
I had health problems and I know how stressing it can be.

The swing bird is very nice and never saw one like this before!
I wanted to buy a solar fountain but did not know if it works properly, I think yours does.
Sloane is like Maxim a smiling baby.
Hope your sister feels better.
I wish you a nice weekend.

I'm so sorry to hear about Laura, and I'll be burning a candle for her ...
I love the idea of the solar pump, which would be nice for our tiny little pond. Phew, I am glad to hear you caught that naughty wasp before it could start building its nest. And isn't Sloane looking delightful? They grew up so fast, don't they? Our youngest grandson has just celebrated his 2nd birthday! xxx

O Laura! What a had situaltion for her and for you all. O Lord finish the work of the dragon and change everything into blessings. YOU can do this, we trust on YOU -

Larry is wonderful! What a LOVE!

Sloane is so very sweeeeet! Her smile ismost lovely!

We love tomatos. We also have several plants in our garden, big and litle fruits bringing in later summer.

There is a sort of smaller wesps, who kill big and dangerous wesps .. be careful, maybe this kind is one of the good sort.. We have every year less and less insects. Water is no poison :)

Seed for birds an squirrels: like in paradies. enemies become friends :)

O Laura!

I know you are a supportive friend to Laura and sister to Ruth. It is great watching Sloan as she grows. My kid's tomatoes have outgrown the cages. Cannot wait for testing all the goodies they have planted.

Oh my. So sorry to hear about Laura. Cancer is so scary. I had colon cancer back in 2002 and now I have breast cancer. Have had the surgery, have chemo in my future. So, I know and can empathize. My prayers for them both.

Oh no, that’s so sad to read. I am so sorry about Laura. I will be sending all my prayers. They have been doing some amazing things in cancer research lately. I hope they will help her. Many healing thoughts I’m sending, along with my prayers.

Your seed has the same coloring as skunk cabbage, not sure if it is a correct id though. The bird feeder bench is awesome and I have a bird bath on my shopping list, plus the added solar pump now, thank you for that. I enjoyed all your photos and thank you for finishing with the always very sweet little Sloane. She truly is a beautiful child. Laura will constantly be on my mind though. Blessings to you all!

Well I'm so sorry about Laura's ordeal. That must be terrifying. I will surely pray for her. I need those Big Boy tomatoes! I could make a meal out of one of them! Your swing bird and squirrel feeder (haha) is so cute and I love to watch the antics of squirrels but yes, they will eat every last seed given half a chance. So cute though, all bright eyes and bushy tails! UGH that wasp! So scary that you were so close and he might have come at you! Be careful! I've got no idea what that weird looking seed is! xoxo
